Loved reading this thread. Lots of food I'd never thought about and some I'd never heard of too!

Starter: baked Camembert with crusty bread, and carrot, cucumber and red pepper sticks. Red onion marmalade on the side

Main: roast chicken with roast potatoes, carrots, peas, broccoli, sage and onion stuffing. Lots of gravy

Pudding: Forest fruit Creme brûlée with a shortbread biscuit

Drink: water

nevermorelenore · 24/09/2020 19:49

Smoked salmon and big prawns
Tacos with chipotle chicken and freshly made guacamole and salsa, plus lots of cheese and sour cream etc.
A proper New York cheesecake

I'd probably be incredibly queasy after such a weird food combo and it'd be worth it.

TurkeyTrot · 24/09/2020 19:49

@speakout

My ideal meal wouldn't be 3 courses.

Starters fill me up too much and I don't have a sweet tooth so pudding is wasted on me.

My ideal meal would be a huge sharing seafood stew, Spanish or Greek, squid, mussels, crab, prawns, fish, lots of garlic and olive oil- tomato based.

Some salad, olives and crusty bread on the side- with a large quantity of wine.

Can I share yours? It sounds perfect :)
KTD27 · 24/09/2020 19:50

Ok...
Starter: goats cheese and red onion tart
Main: dream burger and truffle fries from the intercontinental hotel in LA with a side of chicken gyoza
Dessert: Eton mess
Drink - margaritas and a big juicy red Californian Zinfandel for the main.
I’d be very sick. And very happy.

Buzztothemoon · 24/09/2020 19:51

Can I have all of the above - twice. And a just waffer thin mint to finish?

I'm in my late forties and MUST have Blue Nun at Christmas. The extended family cringe. I'll have champers, pinot or anything after, just have to begin our Christmas dinner with it Smile

I've googled courgette flowers, never have I ever...but would try them.

I'd choose
King prawns with anything
Huge rare steak with garlic butter, a wee smidge of french mustard, green veg & a soupçon of dauphinoise potatoes.
A teeny sized sticky toffee pud & custard
Cheese, figs, quince, crackers, chutney & grapes
Champers, then an 'Old Fashioned' ( Everyman cinema cocktail, never been trumped )

maras2 · 24/09/2020 19:54
