I'm sure he speaks very highly of me! Grin I really enjoy his recipes but the more I see of him and Jools on tv I don't know he creeps me out a bit..can't put my finger on it. Anyone else?

I have every single one of his books and I love to skim through them as a leisure activity as I love the layout and photography etc, but many of his recipes I have tried have not been brilliant, and I cook pretty well... I think :D My mum calls him 'the one that looks like he's spitting over everything'... I love Jamie but he's maybe a bit of style over substance... and I'm not surprised his restaurant didn't survive either as in my limited experience they were very poor...

After meeting him I can’t stand watching him.

Shufflebumnessie · 24/09/2020 11:13

@MorganKitten I feel exactly the same about him. I met him in a professional capacity a few years ago and he was so obnoxious and rude. I now actively avoid anything he's involved in.

knittingaddict · 24/09/2020 11:14

I do not like the guy at all and even less now I know he is a serial shagger.

Back that up with some evidence. Now.

Hate it when seemingly nice guys are anything but. Life's just one long list of disillusion after disillusion.

MrsKingfisher · 24/09/2020 11:18

In his interviews his appears humourless, arrogant and quite rude. I hate that he refers to his wife as 'my missus'

I don't watch an of his cooking programmes as I find him a bit annoying. I do like his recipes though and use them a lot.

knittingaddict · 24/09/2020 11:23

Never seen an interview with him as I'm just not that interested. I'm a bit disappointed that he can't do great recipes and be a decent human being too.

Having said that his lemon posset recipe from one of his books was wrong. Far too much lemon and that wasn't just down to taste. It was wrong.

CoralFish · 24/09/2020 11:24

Love his recipes - get annoyed that I like them because I think he is a hypocritical creep!

BigSandyBalls2015 · 24/09/2020 11:24

Serial shagger?! Where have you heard this?

TweeBree · 24/09/2020 11:24

If he's a serial shagger he's a damn good one. His wife Jools has admitted that checks his phone and monitors his schedule like a hawk.

jeffgoldblumlovespenguins · 24/09/2020 11:25

I've never been keen to be honest but didn't know about the shagging!!
Where did you see that?

On the ex publicist ask me anything thread.
slipperywhensparticus · 24/09/2020 11:29

OMG he really DOES look like he spits over everything so loose in the mouth

Some food is good though
No idea if he shags around

ClaudiaWankleman · 24/09/2020 11:32

He irritates me.

The recipes are so banal. There’s never anything remotely inventive or inspiring. It’s all very functional. I can’t imagine many people choosing one of Jamie’s recipes over many other modern chefs.

The mockney accent annoys me.

He gets on at us to be healthier and lose weight - I’d like to see it from him first. I get the feeling his public health drives are very much grounded in staying ‘relevant’ and in the papers than from a sense of duty.

LadySeaThing · 24/09/2020 11:32

I remember when he was very young and the next big thing, his cheeky chappy, wahay chuck it all around vibe was fun for a while, but it kind of grates after a bit. I've heard all kinds of reports and rumours like some of the stuff said on this thread, don't know how true they are but I do find him kind of conservative, in the "My missus has got another bun in the oven" kind of way, he comes across as quite chauvinist and patrician.

Bluntness100 · 24/09/2020 11:40

I’m not sure there is evidence he’s a serial shagger, no one has ever came out and said they slept with him. He said his wife accused him of once having an affair and she said she basically stalks him to be sure, but I think the accusation of him being a serial shagger is a bit much.

Unless you’ve some evidence?

MorganKitten · 24/09/2020 11:50

Anyone that has to stalk a partner to be sure they aren’t cheating... that’s a give away.

He’s so rude! We did an event with him, never again thanks.

Not really, hang about here for five mins and you’ll see there are plenty do it due to their own mental health issues.

GrapeSodas · 24/09/2020 11:57

I like his recipes but have no interest in hearing his childrearing advice. He's no more qualified to give advice on this than the rest of us with kids/teens

DontDribbleOnTheCarpet · 24/09/2020 11:58

Some of his recipes are okay, but I can't watch him because he looks like he's about to start dribbling on the food!

rorosemary · 24/09/2020 12:02

I like that he takes up a challenge. People moaning that healthy cooking takes too long, here's a 30 minute cookbook. Still too long? Here's a 15 minute one. Too many ingredients? Here's a 5 ingredient cookbook. Too expensive? Here's a cheap eating one.

His recipes are a bit samey to me but he does do away with all the myths that you can't cook healthy homemade meals for whatever excuse

SnuggyBuggy · 24/09/2020 12:05

I think that sums him up
