To lie about my location to the holiday accommodation?

I am single and live alone so this period has been very difficult. I have also worked from home since March and have been very careful with who I see and where I go. Just took my temperature there & normal. About 99% sure I am virus free.

Anyway I had booked 3 days in a cottage by the seaside, about 2 hours drive. I am an artist and have been so looking forward to finishing my project and getting some breathing space before what lies before us in the next season.

The booking.com accommodation has just been in touch asking where I am coming from because I am in a restricted area they will not accommodate me any longer. Well sadly I am in such an area. AIBU to tell a white lie and say I'm coming from the next city over (which is not affected)?

I have been so, so careful and was so looking forward to a short break. Also doubt I'd get a refund and it wasn't cheap.

Glad it all went well and was good for your head.
I'm staying by the sea tomorrow, barring any last minute disaster, and ì think it's going to be a real sanity saver.

I can see how you must need.a break for your mental health op.
The pm was in Italy as was his fiancee and son and friends on holiday. By the same we are given all such rules, which seem not to apply to celebs or government..
Do what is best for you .

Sorry just seen where you had your trip.
If you feel better that is great and I am happy for you.

saraclara · 28/09/2020 22:43

I'm so glad it worked out and the trip did you good, OP!

That is good to hear Rae34. Glad you got away. Smile

Glad you had fun. If someone you've booked a service from has decided they're choosing to no longer accepting business from a whole cohort of the population (about 16 million I last checked) then they can fucking well take the financial hit themselves.

Also, we need a site rule that if you got your law degree from Google then you're not allowed to lecture other people about the covid regulations. I mean, why the fuck would you wade in when you must know you've not actually read any of the guidance, let alone the law?

I am very pleased for you.
