BJ in Italy?

This claim is all over the news now, but here it is from the original source.

Exclusive: according to an official statement of the Italian airport dated September 17th, the British prime minister “travelled to Perugia over the past few days”. (He aphas visited many times in the past. On this occasion, apparently a long weekend for his son’s baptism)

Official Airport Sources: “Johnson landed in Perugia on Friday 11 September at 2 pm and left on Monday morning”.

Downing Street: “This claim is wrong”

So, either that airport is engaging in massive shit stirring (libel?) or Downing Street is lying and the whole government should resign.

How did this story come to be a story? Presumably the airport guy didn't just notify the paper that he had seen Boris Johnson - he was approached and asked?

The story is the airport put out a press release which in part mentioned some famous people who had passed through it's doors in the last few days/weeks and Mr Johnson was one of those named...

The Guardian is making a link to this article, I have no idea as to it's credibility :

Frazzled2207 · 21/09/2020 14:40

quite a lot on twitter about this. Apparently the airport were going to retract the statement that he was there but now there's been a retraction of the retraction. Something very shady going on in any case.

Baaaahhhhh · 21/09/2020 14:41

Sorry, I haven't read the whole thread, but so what? He went to Italy for the weekend to get his child baptised. Not illegal, it's a private matter, and I couldn't be less interested.

PhilCornwall1 · 21/09/2020 14:48

I couldn't give a shit what Johnson does anymore, I've given up listening to him.

To be honest, I'm not in the least bit concerned what happens to him either.

Itsabeautifuldayheyhey · 21/09/2020 14:55

What would be the problem if the Prime Minister did go to Italy for a long weekend for his son's baptism anyway?

I think this is the big question.

If he did go to Italy and it's no big deal, then why would he lie about it? What is he covering up?

Why would the airport lie about it?

It's all very mysterious.

Sugar00 · 21/09/2020 15:11

Fake news.

The airport has confirmed that the original press release was confused - they meant Tony Blair, not B J.

GervaseFen · 21/09/2020 15:15

This makes no sense. The original release mentioned both Johnson and Blair.
I couldn't care less if he'd been on holiday again - not like he works anyway - but the whole thing is so shady.

I’m not surprised, there was no reason for him to lie about this. We can still travel to Italy so hardly something to lie about.
Pobblebonk · 21/09/2020 15:37

What would be the problem if the Prime Minister did go to Italy for a long weekend for his son's baptism anyway?

  1. That this would be something like his sixth holiday this year at a time when the country is in a massive crisis around coronavirus to say nothing of the Brexit clusterfuck. Also the costs involved in terms of security etc.
  2. That it looks suspiciously like the motivation is to meet his rich Russian mate Lebedev than to get his child baptised.
  3. The very fact that he seems so desperate to keep quiet about it.
Pobblebonk · 21/09/2020 15:40

This was Johnson after the last jolly thrown by Lebedev. Looks like he had a good time ...

Rewis · 21/09/2020 15:40

Can we start a thread about bj in Italy? Those stories sounds more fun.

Well he didn’t so...🤷‍♀️
PeartreeProductions · 21/09/2020 16:26

@Bluntness100 and you seriously believe that, quoting the "FAKE NEWS" mantra of Trump and his acolytes.

PerkingFaintly · 21/09/2020 16:35

Bluntness, do you not find it even a little disturbing that we have a Prime Minister and a Downing Street operation that lies and deceives so often, that people simply no longer believe a denial?

Johnson may or may not have been in Italy. I don't know and can't tell. I'll have to wait for the testimony of someone with more integrity.

LarkDescending · 21/09/2020 16:43

Westminster Cathedral have said that Wilfred was baptised there on 12 September.

Hopoindown31 · 21/09/2020 16:44

Who knows what that man is doing? Apparently he is too poor to afford a nanny, but does like his holidays.

I suspect it is a cock up by the airport as Johnson should have been at his son's baptism at Westminster Cathedral. The cathedral have confirmed the baptism took place, the didn't say whether the PM was there or not.

AdoptedBumpkin · 21/09/2020 16:47

It wouldn't surprise me. He hasn't exactly been in the media much of late, as far as I recall.

Tellmetruth4 · 21/09/2020 16:48

He went for a piss up with his Russian mate and remember Grant Shapps denied any knowledge of Cummings going to Durham.

Tellmetruth4 · 21/09/2020 16:49

I bet he’s on his way back from Italy today.

stovetopespresso · 21/09/2020 16:51

I heard he went to Italy but for a meeting with some finance guy,
(or about BJs :) )

Chloemol · 21/09/2020 16:53

Who gives a shit, travel to Italy is allowed,

Ihatefish · 21/09/2020 16:55

Let’s just change this thread into one about famous Italians you’d give blow jobs to. It would be far more interesting than another borisbashing thread.

SirGawain · 21/09/2020 17:05

I thought the OP was planning a holiday fling!

allthelinterdit · 21/09/2020 17:06

@SmellsLikeFeet

Damn, I thought this was going to be a completely different thread
😅
