BJ in Italy?

This claim is all over the news now, but here it is from the original source.

Exclusive: according to an official statement of the Italian airport dated September 17th, the British prime minister “travelled to Perugia over the past few days”. (He aphas visited many times in the past. On this occasion, apparently a long weekend for his son’s baptism)

Official Airport Sources: “Johnson landed in Perugia on Friday 11 September at 2 pm and left on Monday morning”.

Downing Street: “This claim is wrong”

So, either that airport is engaging in massive shit stirring (libel?) or Downing Street is lying and the whole government should resign.

Grant Shapps was asked about it on BBC breakfast today. The claim was that BJ visited Italy with his partner on the weekend 11th September. Shapps said that he’s not aware about it with his best naive face expression. He added that he’s not following PM every minute and travelling to Italy has allowed as there’s a travel corridor. So, I’ve understood it as “yes, he went but didn’t want you to know”.

@AlternativePerspective

This thread has libel written all over it.
Why? It's been reported in the newspapers.
MsPeachh · 21/09/2020 11:52

I never realised how apt his initials are before! But yes, I am inclined to believe the airport.

LarkDescending · 21/09/2020 11:54

@kirinm

Ignore that, I'm sure I read something about Russia but can't find it now.
The key thing about this story is that it concerns Perugia.

Evgeny Lebedev is Bozo’s close pal in the Perugia area, to whom he apparently made a secret visit (without his security entourage) in 2018 whilst he was Foreign Secretary. He was photographed at the airport then.

Lebedev is said to throw wild parties. Possibly the type of parties at which compromising events may occur.

He has recently been elevated to the peerage by Boris Johnson.

@DominaShantotto

Is this the more upmarket version of bumsex at Centerparcs?
Ha, thread title made me think that it was a repeat of that, except this time it was a sulky DH who didn't get a blowjob on an Italian trip.
Dahlietta · 21/09/2020 11:57

My first thought was that it was about Boris. Wasn't expecting rudeness at all. I'm losing my touch.

strawberrysandpecans · 21/09/2020 11:58

We've got a PM we don't trust to tell the truth, is the thing.

pastabest · 21/09/2020 11:59

@Bluntness100

It’s out there now? It’s going to Italy not eating small puppies.

That’s mad. He’s allowed to go to italy. Why would he lie about it.

I don't think he is lying. I think the airport have possibly been exaggerating how recently he has been there.

But it not about him going away, it's about where he is going, why he is going there specifically and who is he seeing whilst he is there at that specific location.

The papers have a story about why he is there regularly. They can't print it, but Perugia airport have given them the gift of suggesting he was there prompting Downing Street to deny it thus creating a 'public interest story' and allowing the papers to print something, anything about Boris visiting the area in lieu of them being able to print the real story.

I saw that and his answer was deliberately worded so as to be evasive but not outright lying if it turns out that it did happen.
viques · 21/09/2020 12:02

Either he has been "economical with the truth" and someone somewhere has a photo to prove it, or he is telling the truth.

I know where my money would go.

blueskywhy · 21/09/2020 12:07

Yes, a few times when on holiday there a few years back with DH :)

pastabest · 21/09/2020 12:13

I think there is some proof that he didn't travel on the Friday as claimed by the airport, but he was potentially there at some point during the weekend.

Either way, that's not the real story, it's just a mechanism for the papers to hint at the bigger story. It's irrelevant whether he was actually there or not that weekend at this point.

FizzyGreenWater · 21/09/2020 12:13

whether it would be reasonable right now to embark on a particular sex act with a foreign stranger.

Well she isn't a stranger now is she, and as long as she's not actually playing in concert at the time -?

:)

strawberrysandpecans · 21/09/2020 12:15

I don't think he is lying. I think the airport have possibly been exaggerating how recently he has been there.

From what I've read the airport had specific dates when he was there this month. Can't see why they would make that up tbh. Does he have reason to make up that he didn't go? seems far more likely to me

Sockmonster23 · 21/09/2020 12:17

I thought this was going to a juicy thread lol got that wrong

Nikori · 21/09/2020 12:21

OK, so the papers have been reporting Boris has been having money problems.

The papers have reported that Boris has been visiting a very rich Russian friend in Italy.

This same Russian friend was given a life peerage recently.

No, I don't see a possible story here either. 🙊

DumplingsAndStew · 21/09/2020 12:22

Am I missing what the scandal is? Was travel to/from Italy not permitted 10/7 days ago?

pastabest · 21/09/2020 12:26

There's a picture of a zoom call with MPs on Friday evening placing Boris at Downing Street then I think. The airport have claimed he travelled through them 'on Friday at 2pm' but the 'source' who went to the Italian news is less sure which day it was.

Who knows if he was there that weekend or not. He's every right to go if he wants. The story is the secretive nature of his visits there.

Shinyhappylucky · 21/09/2020 12:28

Yes a few.....oh!

GrimSisters · 21/09/2020 12:29

I read about it in La Republica. Context was that Luis Suiarez (?) was flying in to do his Italian citizenship test. Airport talking about all the famous people they've had passing through lately, Johnson being one of them. Two airport worker confirmed he'd been seen around 2pm on Friday.

His Russian media mate Lebedev has a mansion nearby.

KatherineJaneway · 21/09/2020 12:29

@SmellsLikeFeet

Damn, I thought this was going to be a completely different thread
Grin
CleverCatty · 21/09/2020 12:33

@Tellmetruth4

The thread title also made me laugh.

In any case I believe the Italians. He’s been to Perugia loads of times so they know who he is.

Anyone who believed his only trip this year would a camping holiday in Scotland is being very naive. He’s probably at his dads place in Greece right now which is why he’s not attending the 11am briefing.

Tellmetruth4 - yeah either in Italy or Greece - he's probably thinking - just got time to get some sun and a break before the shit storm breaks - no one will know and even if they do - well Cummings got away with albeit in the country I'm responsible for.
eddiemairswife · 21/09/2020 12:35

Perhaps there was a concert he wished to attend. Maybe Mendelssohn's Violin Concerto was one of the pieces being played.

Maerchentante · 21/09/2020 12:43

@eddiemairswife I was thinking along those lines as well
