to think I’m going to have to be cut out of this bloody Molke bra

The women of Mumsnet convinced me it would be a good idea to buy one. I bought one based on my measurements and another (bigger one) based on my standard bra size. I only managed to get the big one on with DH’s best wrestling skills and I’m not convinced I’ll ever get back out of it. In fairness, it’s comfortable, but if I have to wear it forever, it really needs to be.

Was this a massive scam? Is there a secret zip? Do I need hypermobile shoulders?

They are without doubt the ugliest bras I have ever seen, and the most unflattering.

Now I know you can't get them off I most certainly won't be thinking about buying one.

SchadenfreudePersonified · 20/09/2020 22:13

@AdultierAdult

I just googled them. They do look comfy but they’re like the crocs of bras, I do hope you get out of it!
The crocs of bras just about sums it up . . .

They're horrible!

VividImagination · 20/09/2020 22:17

What a price! I got great, comfortable bras from Yours for £8.99. I will never go back to things that half strangle me.

AliTheMinx · 20/09/2020 22:20

They look vile and remind me of Y-Fronts!!!!

ArabellaScott · 20/09/2020 22:20

Molke bras are (I'm sorry) fucking murder.

I had a severe headache when I wore one - it pulls so hard on the back of my neck. I could hardly breathe. And yes, I was wearing the right size, they're just designed that way! I think they might be great for ladies with smaller bosoms. For me, not at all a good idea. And yes, you risk getting trapped half in or half out with boobs swinging freely and arms pinned to the side of your head. Not a flattering position to have to call for help in.

Hope you manage to escape. Lubrication? Talcum powder?

Doingtheboxerbeat · 20/09/2020 22:20

Oh my!! They look umm, practical. I think I could make one of those from one of my million of scarves or thick tights.
They look like something early woman would have made before Marks Grin.

SoftMick · 20/09/2020 22:23

Do clothes stick to those Molke bras?

timetest · 20/09/2020 22:25

Just had a look. Why would you pay 40 quid for something that ugly?

I think I could make one of those from one of my million of scarves or thick tights.

I saw a breastfeeding consultant twelve years ago who wanted me to fashion some sort of boob hammock out of tights.

Just googled. Wtf possessed you, OP?

BestIsWest · 20/09/2020 22:33

I fell for the MN hype and ordered one but failed to get into it.

What puzzled me is the lack of adjustment on the shoulders. I’m 5’10. The distance from my shoulder to under my boob is going to be different from someone who is 5’1 even if we are the same circumference.

tectonicplates · 20/09/2020 22:38

Tbh it's such a relief seeing other women here saying they didn't get on with these bras. I'd always felt like it was a consensus that everyone thought they were great, so now I feel less alone and I'm glad it wasn't just me Smile

bouncydog · 20/09/2020 22:39

They look revolting! Sorry but why would anyone think they’re attractive? There are loads of lovely bras available if you take the time to get one professionally fitted.

ArabellaScott · 20/09/2020 22:44

As for damp skin - eurgh. Flashback to post-swimming, small cubicle, whining child outside, hair getting trapped, tit getting trapped, banging elbow, dislocating shoulder, panic attack, attempting to reverse back out of the damn thing, overheating bra-flab-and-wet hair pretzel, now-crying child outside and nearly weeping myself, and in the end dragging self home braless, saggy, and hyperventilating. Not worn it since.

They do give good uplift.

BrightYellowDaffodil · 20/09/2020 22:47

You know those wrap-over house coats that women used to wear? They look like the top half of one of those, but less comfortable...

EveryDayIsADuvetDay · 20/09/2020 22:47

I have a problem with my arm at the moment - putting on a normal bra was difficult enough. Bought some front fastening crop top type things from (shh - v old lady Hmm) damart.
But at least I can get them on and off without triggering a searing pain in my arm Wink

EasilyDeleted · 20/09/2020 22:48

I fell for it too, I wanted something for yoga class that was soft and stretchy but with good containment for inverted positions and I quite liked the colours. It's not even comfy! Makes me feel lopsided, unsupported and bloody impossible to get out of. I haven't worn it since before lockdown and doubt I will again, I've found Sainsburys crop tops to be far better.

Phineyj · 20/09/2020 22:49

I bought one due to hype on here and regretted it - I don't have very mobile shoulders either. I also found it too hot. It was basically tweed! I now wear Sloggi Zero feels which are pretty good (but only for those small of nork - not that supportive).

TyneTeas · 20/09/2020 22:52

I bought one recently and really like it

TyneTeas · 20/09/2020 22:53

Good luck getting out of it though OP!

MotherOfDragonite · 20/09/2020 22:54

I adore my Molke bras and have never had this problem.

Did you measure yourself properly and find your size using their bra calculator? molke.co.uk/pages/size-advice

There's also a Molke chat group on Facebook where you can get sizing advice if needed.

BillywilliamV · 20/09/2020 22:55

Good grief, these are hideous!

TikkaBoo · 20/09/2020 23:00

Sorry OP. This is your life now.

Corsicana · 20/09/2020 23:01

I also ordered one (and matching pants) after reading glowing reviews on here. The bra gave a good shape but it HURT. Really digged in, was so tight around the sides even though it was apparently my correct size. And yes v restrictive to get out of. I haven’t worn it since that first time and that was about a year ago.

I’ll be ordering that Bravissimo bra.
