There's a few but one I see often that just makes me Hmm is 'what if they were your kids?'.

It's obviously always said in response to someone who is not the child's parent and therefore surely a completely pointless argument?!

What others do you always see and eye roll at?

@DillonPanthersTexas

Pineapple in vagina?
Hey, I don't kink shame.
Littered5 · 26/09/2020 17:10

“Zombie thread” -bad manners.

Spiderbaby8 · 26/09/2020 17:33

People seem to get so angry over zombie threads, most other forums you get a bollocking for starting a new thread when there is an existing one. It's an easy mistake for a newbie.

lunalulu · 26/09/2020 19:01

LTB

It's so knee-jerk.

lunalulu · 26/09/2020 19:02

@Spiderbaby8

When a poster describes a minor disagreement with their MIL and someone comes in with "it's going to get worse, go NC right now"
Yes this too.

All together using NC.

DillonPanthersTexas · 26/09/2020 21:11

Hey, I don't kink shame,

Pineapple Lives Matter

seayork2020 · 26/09/2020 22:53

Yes i dont get the zombie thread hate, if it is general subject why does it matter if it is old?

MarthasGinYard · 26/09/2020 22:57

'LTB' in response to those twee shit 'lighthearted' threads

'Oh DH has just dared to eat my last posh choc I was saving should I LTB?'

Cannot abide them

Pobblebonk · 26/09/2020 23:39

Usually it isn't a general subject. It becomes ridiculous when loads of people jump in and issued advice to an OP about their baby when the reality is that the baby is about to go to secondary school.
ZoeTurtle · 27/09/2020 00:16

When a poster is wondering whether to ask for increased child maintenance from an ex and someone will always say "I've never had a penny in maintenance so count yourself lucky." Er, no, let's not count ourselves lucky when men show the most basic decency towards their children.

seabreeze77 · 27/09/2020 13:42

When someone wants to talk about a person without using their real name and they say “let’s call her Mary”, No let’s not.

Why not? Much easier to follow than all this A, B and C stuff.
JinglingHellsBells · 27/09/2020 14:21

I hate archaic and affected phrases like 'me thinks', which no one would speak in real life.

AlpineSnow · 27/09/2020 14:28

We met at a Halloween party and the rest is history Just annoying.

iluvgab · 27/09/2020 15:50

Definitely annoying. In a similar vein "one thing led to another".

MarthasGinYard · 27/09/2020 15:53

Cannot abide 'anyhoo' either Hmm

MarthasGinYard · 27/09/2020 15:54

Or 'Naice'HmmHmm

EveryDayIsADuvetDay · 27/09/2020 15:56

@Fishypants

The sanctimonious usernames like "Truthteller" or "Saysitlikeitis" or some other arrogant moniker. Usually just an excuse for the poster to be rude and confrontational. Usually the name "ObnoxiousTit" would be a better descriptor.
should we assume that Fishypants simply indicates a pattern/design rather than an odour? Grin
ShebaShimmyShake · 27/09/2020 16:56

I dislike the phrase "we've had our ups and downs", but that might be because every poster who uses it goes on to describe a car crash relationship with a total dickhead.

iluvgab · 27/09/2020 18:00

Said dickhead is always "an amazing Dad" though.

ZoeTurtle · 27/09/2020 18:07

When someone has concerns about her cleaner or au pair and people reply "get rid." You're talking about a human being, not an unwanted item of furniture.

Furiousfive · 27/09/2020 18:13

The 'perhaps there is a sen issue' or 's/he could be on the spectrum' in response to a child's bad behaviour

DillonPanthersTexas · 27/09/2020 18:32

'well one thing led to another'

Yeah, that's another one. "We've been together years, had our ups and downs, he's a brilliant dad..." Oh God, what's this one like?
StillCoughingandLaughing · 27/09/2020 19:20

I hate it when someone says ‘That’s all very well, but what if...’ - and then goes on to invent a scenario that’s completely inapplicable to the OP’s situation.

E.g. - ‘It’s all very well not being able to drive when you live in central London, but what about if you moved to a crofter’s cottage in the highlands 100 miles from the nearest bus stop?’ Well it’s a leap of faith, but I’m guessing the OP wouldn’t do that given she can’t drive.
