Is Boris lying again

Today on one of the select committee meetings Boris said 1% of the schools have got impacted by Covid in UK.
Assuming 35000 schools in UK, this equals 350 schools.
Mayor of Manchester today says 120 schools in Manchester have been impacted.
That leaves 230 schools rest of UK.
Are we being taken as mugs again.
Why are we not given this information.

They won't publish school figures because they'll then have to admit that Covid within schools is far from contained and managed. They'll also risk more parents pulling their DC out of schools as a reaction to this.

FudgeBrownie2019 · 17/09/2020 09:00

@KenDodd

I don't think BJ looked like a schoolboy being told off during Miliband speech. I think he just looked bored and disinterested.
He looked exactly like he was simply biding his time til Miliband shut up and he could ignore with impunity, safe in the knowledge that despite the lies, the incompetence and the abominable attitude to common law, there's no discernible threat to Tory power.

The whole "poor Boris" rhetoric is exactly what he wants - he needs no sympathy and no kindness, he's in a position of power and about to dick us all over and won't feel so much as a pang of guilt.

LouiseNW · 17/09/2020 09:01

Gee, let me think .......

Connieston · 17/09/2020 09:02

Hes turned full Trump. I dont believe anything he says now. Piping up about Moonshot when we cant even manage basic testing was the final straw. Its insulting.

LonelyFromCorona · 17/09/2020 09:06

Even without opening his mouth, he is literally lying every day he lives by denying fatherhood to one or more children.

KenDodd · 17/09/2020 09:49

He denied fatherhood of one of his children?

How could he do that if the mother pursued it? Maybe she didn't?

We never hear from his children or ex wives/girlfriends, I'm convinced (well, not convinced, just think he might) he has super injunctions on them all.

Howslifenow · 17/09/2020 10:34

Estimated infection now 38000 per day.

No wonder testing has gone AWOL

That’s up to the 15th. So 2 days ago. They update it every day.

DressingGownofDoom · 17/09/2020 10:39

Funny I heard on the radio this morning that the government has denied there will be a two week national lockdown and the first thing I thought was, there is 100% going to be another national lockdown then if they're saying there won't be.

Howslifenow · 17/09/2020 10:45

@dressinggownofdoom

I think you have got the jackpot there

Ha ha Dressinggown. What has it come to when we k ow for certain that the shitbags will do a u turn.

I pay more attention to what they deny than what they say.

He might want to take a look at this...

Johnson doesn't believe anything he says. He comes out with nonsense in order to get through an interview/appt/PMQs etc. It's relation to truth or reality isn't a concern of his. Its just a survival technique.

This is the Prime Minister.

The80sweregreat · 17/09/2020 14:15

The daily mail are putting the boot in today. When they start on the government and Boris , you know something is going on! it's not good! Covid could well be the finish of him but maybe that's just wishful thinking.

The Telegraph is too. It’s giving him six months and then apparently it’s curtains. Hope when it happens he takes Gove and Cummings with him.
The80sweregreat · 17/09/2020 14:35

The Torygraph as well? Maybe it's all this talk of a another lockdown! ?

Howslifenow · 17/09/2020 15:18

I think it’s cumulative. The right wing press is no longer in any doubt that the current regime is an electoral liability and want them well out of the way before we’re asked to vote again.
Pobblebonk · 17/09/2020 15:47

There's a pretty credible theory going around that basically Johnson was put in place by Murdoch, Cummings etc to push Brexit through come what may. They know perfectly well it will be disastrous for the country but they don't care because they and their mates will make a massive profit out of it. Then when everyone realises what a clusterfuck it is, Johnson can be chucked out and someone like Gove catapulted in to impose massive tax increases and austerity measures whilst merrily shovelling all the blame onto Johnson.

That is credible. Apart from the Gove bit. I think the whole of the current cabinet, except perhaps Sunak, are too closely associated with this clusterfuck to get anywhere near government when Johnson’s cast adrift. Or perhaps that’s wishful thinking.
Anniegetyourgun · 17/09/2020 16:01

Every now and then someone starts saying Gove is the nearest thing to competent, at least he's a grown-up, only one of the Cabinet who's even slightly trustworthy, did a great job at Education (!) etc, and I think "Who is pushing this line and why would anyone buy it?" But if they say it often enough maybe enough people will. Quite worrying really.

Friend of mine always refers to Gove as Pob (anyone remember that?).

TW2013 · 17/09/2020 16:30

I am not familiar with the name 'de Pfeffel' is it pronounced 'the piffle'?

RubyViolet · 17/09/2020 16:42

Pob !!! OMG l can’t unsee that image now. Spot on !
