Is Boris lying again

Today on one of the select committee meetings Boris said 1% of the schools have got impacted by Covid in UK.
Assuming 35000 schools in UK, this equals 350 schools.
Mayor of Manchester today says 120 schools in Manchester have been impacted.
That leaves 230 schools rest of UK.
Are we being taken as mugs again.
Why are we not given this information.

Boris spoke. Assume it's a lie.

Meanwhile the AT has actually posted on her FB that she's supporting and voting for the deal that broke international law.

This is the issue. Even when what they are doing is so wrong they are so cock sure if their own status they'll just announce it as if it doesn't matter.

Howslifenow · 16/09/2020 18:28

What's the point of paying these idiots to make ' informed ' decisions for us when they are driven by their rich donors.

@Fallenmadonnawiththebigboobies

Is his mouth moving?
I was about to say that, but you've beaten me to it. (Dammit, with only 26 posts when I opened the thread I thought I was in with a chance).

In other news, the pope is catholic and large ursine animals defecate in forested areas.

3 out of the 40 primary schools on the isle of Anglesey have a positive test which I think is roughly 13%. He’s a lying liar with a talent for telling lies to people’s faces, on the tv, in front of millions.

The80sweregreat · 16/09/2020 18:31

They have Mr Brexit in place and a big majority. They can do what they like.
It's depressing , but there you go.
Nothing will change ,for now anyway.

CoffeeandLotsofCake · 16/09/2020 18:32

Whilst I would generally agree, the area we live in isn't badly affected at all with only a few new cases a week. Since the new term not 1 case has been reported in any of the schools in the county or the 2 neighbouring counties.

Could be places like this bringing down the average?

Arnoldthecat · 16/09/2020 18:34

Why would he lie? The opposition are razor sharp and would surely catch him out immediately.

LizzieSiddal · 16/09/2020 18:36

He’s lied many times in the past, in fact numerous times. He’s lied to two wives (whilst he was having affairs), employers (and he got sacked), so I never believe a word he says.

LizzieMacQueen · 16/09/2020 18:41

He'll be quoting old data. At one point the figure would have been 1%. Just not now.

It's not the average though. It's %

Their new three part slogan -
We’re lying
You know we’re lying
We know you know we’re lying, but we don’t care.

Lemonyfuckit · 16/09/2020 18:45

Do bears shit in the woods?

The80sweregreat · 16/09/2020 18:46

I've washed my hands of all of them.
The news and coverage is just depressing I'm afraid.

WetdreamBeliever · 16/09/2020 18:46

Fake news.

averythinline · 16/09/2020 18:55

Is he moving his lips

blackwych · 16/09/2020 19:02

I'm sure 1% is too low a figure but I wonder what was meant by 'impacted.' If it means people isolating because of family members with coughs etc - i.e. not just positive cases - I wouldn't be surprised if the vast majority of schools were impacted. At my school one teacher was isolating due to a family member - as soon as she was back another teacher was isolating because of someone in his family.

IDontLikeZombies · 16/09/2020 19:02

I don't think he's died so I think he's probably lying. Mind you I wouldn't believe him if he told me he was dead, either.

PlateTectonics · 16/09/2020 19:04

Boris is a fucking liar

The Russians have a word for this: vranyo. (Used in a political context it can also have the connotation of "and we are able to tell these lies because we have power over you.")

Boris and Putin have certain traits in common.

PlateTectonics · 16/09/2020 19:07

Given the number of schools I know of that have sent home at least one full year group, 1% seems extraordinarily unlikely. I'm not in a hotspot either.

GameSetMatch · 16/09/2020 19:09

He will be messing about with the statistics again, only including state schools in figures no private or Academy’s in the stats, something like that.

VinylDetective · 16/09/2020 19:09

Johnson lying? Surely not, that would be unheard of, he’s such an honest and trustworthy man.

Tattoocrazymum · 16/09/2020 19:10

49 schools in Northampton alone have been affected, so yes definitely talking shite

MustStopSnacking28 · 16/09/2020 19:13

Literally his entire career (maybe life?!) is built on lies so I am going to say yes he’s lying. Bastard.

SchrodingersUnicorn · 16/09/2020 19:13

Wasn't the real statistic that only 1% of schools didn't reopen fully on the first day? But by now of course it's far more.
Having not heard what Boris said, I'll hazard a guess at yes he's lying? Or incompetent and can't read his own briefing documents.
