Constant doom mongering on the news..... constant fear of school bubble closures.... stress of getting available test if need one...feel like nothing to actually look forward too.... the list goes on....

I suppose I just want to have a moan..... it all just seems to be going on and on with no end in sight again....

It might also help to stay away from here and the posters who seem to revel in the genuine unhappiness of others, banging on about a “post Covid world”, how life as we knew it previously has gone forever, how people will never go to gigs again. They really seem to get genuine enjoyment out of knowing how this upsets other people and dress it up as “concern”. Yeah right

These are the same people who use all of the Covid bingo words:

Desperately
Horrific
Death
Disability
Selfish
Damage

Please feel free to add. Absolutely hysterical they are

HeIenaDove · 16/09/2020 01:58

@PicsInRed If we go into another lockdown the bribe afterwards is going to have to be a lot fucking better than Eat Out to Help Out. People are too easily bought.

HeIenaDove · 16/09/2020 02:10

@Mintychoc1 Totally agree. I noticed a slight improvement in my mental health last week when MN banned me for a week. Which meant i couldnt post on the Covid board so i didnt read it as much.

A second lockdown is worrying me. I dont think i could cope with it again.

Rockbird · 16/09/2020 02:21

YANBU. I work in a school office. It's all we think about. Every phone call is about it. The kids aren't allowed anywhere near us, I haven't seen a schoolchild close up since March. No year 6 messengers, no giggling in the corridors. One way systems and hand sanitiser. We have to talk to parents through the door buzzer, they aren't allowed in (ok that one's a bonus Wink). I'm sick of it and I want it to go away. Sad

Oblomov20 · 16/09/2020 02:29

Covid fatigue? Yes. That's what I've got.

How about "it's a deadly virus ffs!"
And "obviously don't understand exponential growth ffs!"

Yeah, we're all dum and haven't a clue!"Hmm

The "ffs" is always the mic drop moment!

peasoup8 · 16/09/2020 03:20

“The rules” are stupidly inconsistent - that’s what’s annoying. I can’t see my GP but I can walk into a salon and get a haircut or go shopping. It makes no sense whatsoever. If you’re elderly or vulnerable then absolutely continue to self-isolate, but for the rest of us, it’s time to get back to normal.

Sallycinammonbangsthedruminthe · 16/09/2020 06:35

I am a million times sure the reporting of Covid 19 has done more to crucify the Nations mental health than the virus its self. Mine included during the early days, not so much now but back then in March/April. I get Covid and its attributes I really do but the terror that was aimed at us all was just too much. I am done with the constant doom and gloom and problems...I limit myself to 5 mins per day to see whats going on now and if there are any rule changes that have come into force then I am done with it...

userxx · 16/09/2020 06:48

Yeah, think it was more about getting the hospitality industry back up and running after they'd been closed for 3 months solid.

We're in the midst of a global pandemic. It's never going to be fun. Heaven help us if an ebola like virus or plauge (with a very high mortality) hits us.

popcornlover · 16/09/2020 07:11

No it’s great. Much better people now actually have to work. Sorry you are finding it hard to cope.

loulouljh · 16/09/2020 07:19

agreed. It is really getting me down now. The constant negative mood. The failure of the Government to have any grip on the situation (the testing fiasco). The rule of six. That silly Patel woman seeming to revel in saying that you cannot even stop and talk to a neighbour. It is all unavoidable nonsense.

loulouljh · 16/09/2020 07:22

oh and the snitching thats being encouraged too. Hate that. the masks. the lack of spontaneity. Am feeling worse now listing all this stuff! But it is rubbish and seems endless.

HMSSophie · 16/09/2020 07:40

It's what has been revealed about people, that has depressed me. How badly educated, illogical, and selfish we are. The majority of Americans don't know 6 million Jews were murdered in the Holocaust - yet they vote for the worlds most powerful leader.

Plus this fucking UK government has plumbed new depths of incompetence and venality.

What depresses me is what Covid has revealed about how fragile capitalism is - how our role is to be consumers and that's all. How the poor, BAME, women, the vulnerable, are all at the bottom while white men get to fuck it all up. What a fucking awful mess humanity has made of this wonderful earth.

rosydreams · 16/09/2020 07:50

with all the autumn and christmas events being cancelled its all a bit depressing

Flaunch · 16/09/2020 07:50

Covid fatigue is exactly it. I’ve completely stopped caring.

Don’t watch the UK news it’s all complete bullshit. Might watch Al Jazeera for some actual news if necessary but turn it off at the mention of Covid 19.

“Global pandemic” (pandemic on its own would suffice) “Second wave” “Brits are all crap and every other country and it’s citizens are amazing”

Absolutely! And also phrases- -The New Normal -This is how it is now ffs! -Ah so you want me to die do you? -it doesn't bother me, I'm happy to stay in lock down till this goes away.

I have no idea how those who want permanent, never ending lock down will finance it. They clearly don't care about how others would or could!

loulouljh · 16/09/2020 07:58

And the lack of understanding that if people don't work the NHS is not funded. The two are linked but it amazes me the number of people who don't understand this at all....

Oh yes and also

“Close retail except for supermarkets, pubs, bingo halls, and cinemas as they’re non essential”

No thought for the poor buggers who work there

FreidaMind · 16/09/2020 08:01

Some of them genuinely seem to think they can eradicate death. 🤦‍♀️

Yes this

And

“Putting the economy before lives”

Oh how could I forget

“Just wear a fucking mask!”
“If you don’t like a mask you’ll hate a ventilator!”
“Can’t you wear a visor?” (To someone who is lawfully exempt from wearing a face covering)
“If you can’t wear a mask you need to just stay at home and not put me at risk” (because the exempt going out is selfish but the poster who comments such crap isn’t selfish at all by expecting this of others. Will again be followed by “global pandemic” or any other of the bingo card phrases)

loulouljh · 16/09/2020 08:04

the masks, the masks....
