Constant doom mongering on the news..... constant fear of school bubble closures.... stress of getting available test if need one...feel like nothing to actually look forward too.... the list goes on....

I suppose I just want to have a moan..... it all just seems to be going on and on with no end in sight again....

I am finding that I can cope with almost anything if the kids are at school. After school activities have also started again.

Trying to work At home in a professional job with 2 small children was truly horrific. Clearly not as hard as being a key worker but it had such a toll.

I’m happy to just get on with the rest of the restrictions. It will be harder when weather changed so no point moaning about it now!

Fishfingersandwichplease · 15/09/2020 22:12

Yep - super bored of it now - said to DH l want to just turn on the news and hear a heartwarming story about a kitten being rescued or something. So gloomy. And l am one of the lucky ones who has kept my job, so has dh, dd back at school and we have even managed to get away over summer but l am done with it. I miss just going about my modest life as l knew it without all the uncertainty.

purpleme12 · 15/09/2020 22:12

Yes I've gone back to the point where I'm thinking perhaps we shouldn't go to as many places again....
Don't know what to do anymore

Napqueen1234 · 15/09/2020 22:14

@Pumpkinnose if it makes you feel better your position imo was the hardest one anyone was in over lockdown. I work in the nhs as do a lot of friends and we all agreed for us life carried on fairly normally going to work etc day to day. Parents trying to work and look after kids were in the worst position and must have been so hard and stressful I can’t even imagine.

Yes - I'm delighted Ds 14 is back at school, but every day I wake up worrying how long it's going to be for. Selfishly I've gotten used to having a bit of a break from my wfh at lunch, I don't think I can cope with having to try and help him with that time instead.

Splendidseptember · 15/09/2020 22:17

Yes I'm fed up but we all must have balance in life, I have plenty of other things to look forward too!

Merrz · 15/09/2020 22:18

Yes totally! I think it's worse now than in proper lockdown at the beginning. So depressing the thought of christmas soon approaching and everything still being like this Sad

rookiemere · 15/09/2020 22:20

@Fishfingersandwichplease I said that about the news. They used to do heart warming little stories about golden retrievers and a postman or something, instead for light relief we get lectured on bloody climate change. I mean I get it is important and all that but surely the fact we've not been flying as much must be positive.

Splendidseptember · 15/09/2020 22:21

Yes parents at home working in any job was tough... Particularly galling for those perhaps, teaching other people's dc whilst being told by our own dc schools that their teachers were too busy? Or couldn't because of various reasons? None of which were a problem for where we worked...

Rainallnight · 15/09/2020 22:21

I’m feeling really down about it and worried about the winter. It’s been just about manageable with good weather.

UnderCaffeinated · 15/09/2020 22:23

Yep. I am feeling so down and I am very concerned about the winter, with Christmas on the way. We had a big family Christmas this year as it will sadly be my aunt's last Christmas, and the anxiety of that being taken from us is really weighing heavy.

everythingisginandroses · 15/09/2020 22:24

WTF is a 'covid fear botherer'? Why would anyone be negative towards the person delivering their post? What's the problem with jigsaws? This country is becoming more bizarre by the day.

ReallySpicyCurry · 15/09/2020 22:24

YANBU. It's utterly bloody horrible. It would be horrible regardless, but for the first time in my life I feel like there's no proper adult in charge, which is scary. I don't vote Tory but I don't think they're the root of all evil either, so I don't have a massive drum to beat here, but previous governments (Tory and Labour) may have fucked up and done things I disagreed with, but at least you got the sense that they were, by and large, grown up human beings who would applya certain level of thought to an issue, listen to experts, and act accordingly, with at least a token nod to how that would look to the public.

This lot don't even pretend any more.

PicsInRed · 15/09/2020 22:24

@AnyFucker

I ordered some cheap jigsaw puzzles from the works and am really enjoying them

Yeah, that's the fucking ticket. Jesus.

😂
kittensarecute · 15/09/2020 22:25

The news has broken me tonight, I can't bear the thought of more restrictions and possibly another lockdown. Just constant doom and gloom all the time...

AnneLovesGilbert · 15/09/2020 22:28

What news?

RealityExistsInTheHumanMind · 15/09/2020 22:28

yanbu

PicsInRed · 15/09/2020 22:29

As a memorable life event, covid has been fucking dire. I'm reading that we're undergoing some sort of new industrial revolution. It better be good, is all I'm saying. Hmm

Inkpaperstars · 15/09/2020 22:30

Yanbu. They need to drop it now, just let us live our lives.

Grin Yep, and as soon as 'they' do that, I guess covid will 'drop it' and just let us live our lives too.

kittensarecute · 15/09/2020 22:31

@AnneLovesGilbert

What news?
More of the same, really, Robert Peston saying that there may have to be further restrictions/another lockdown if the rule of six doesn't work. Nothing new, it all just got on top of me tonight.

It's been a while since I said, 'What AnyFucker said'.

What AnyFucker said ^^

I'm back in shielding confinement or whatever I'm permitted to call it these days. It's bloody hard. I'm worried sick about my young adult DC and their lives.

Vinorosso74 · 15/09/2020 22:33

Yes. The class parents WhatsApp group has always been quite sensible but there suddenly seems to be a lot of panic on it from a very small number of people. It's doing my head in!
DD is so happy back at school (home learning was the worst part of lockdown) and enthusiastic about learning again.

Facelikearustytractor · 15/09/2020 22:33

I am more worried about the other shit - Brexit, unhinged people 'leading' countries around the world, the economy. I despair at the buffoons running the country. They seem determined to ruin everything for future generations so they can benefit for 5 minutes. I have zero faith in them and that is depressing!

I have come to accept life is suffering and try to convince myself there will be something at the end that is worth enduring it all for. Even if that is all bollocks, at least I've spent my life not feeling totally hopeless!

CathTurnbull · 15/09/2020 22:34

What’s wrong with jigsaw puzzles?
