How much do you end up spending on Botox and fillers per year

I am 45 and beginning to look like hell. I know the price of Botox per thing but don’t know how much it ends up costing per year. How much do you end up sending year in year out? I am a Londoner. Thanks.

OP posts:
TheDuchessofMalfy · 16/09/2020 00:10

£0

It’s not something I’m ever going to do, but I’d never realise how common it was to get this!

TheSparklyPussycat · 16/09/2020 00:14

What are 11 lines?

MaraScottie · 16/09/2020 00:16

About 300 a year.

I do accept me for myself, but I prefer a less grumpy looking version of myself.

People spend money on makeup to alter their appearance, hair extensions, new clothes. I'm not sure why this is any different, assuming you do the research and go to someone reputable. I do think that injectables in general should be more strongly regulated, e.g beauticians giving lip fillers, no thank you.

A lot of judgemental comments here!

thesoundofthepolice · 16/09/2020 00:17

Understandably it's not for everyone but some of the replies are unnecessary.

OP, I'm 37 I've had Botox twice a year for 3years in two areas (11s and forehead lines.) I pay £180 per session (central Scotland) It is pretty subtle and even my closest friends weren't aware I'd had it done until recently. Everyone processes Botox differently so the frequency may differ quite a bit.

I think the key is to do lots of research to make sure you find a good practitioner. Recommendations are essential and a consultation will cover all the options open to you if you choose to go ahead.

Cloudmonkey · 16/09/2020 00:21

Botox £295 every 4 months, recently got a very small amount of filler which was £360 for two areas. The clinic is in London and fantastic. They really advocate the natural look. PM me of you would like details.

PurpleTrilby · 16/09/2020 00:26

Yeah, you do not look like hell. I'm 50 ish and every single one of my wrinkles and lines is hard won. I paid for those already, no way am I covering them up. TLDR £0 each year.

A lot of judgemental comments here!

Standard comments from Mumsnet on anything related to what women choose to do to their bodies. Body hair removal is another one which brings out the vipers.

catnoir1 · 16/09/2020 00:29

I'm 35 and spend £500 a year

Onxob · 16/09/2020 00:33

Ive been toying with the idea for a couple of years. The only thing putting me off is the only person I know IRL who has it - it's given her a really shiny forehead. Is this a given?

ShastaBeast · 16/09/2020 00:40

I’ve done it once for headaches from jaw clenching. It was effective and I’m considering it again and maybe for a wonky eyebrow. It’s just the risk of making it even more wonky as it’s a known side effect.

thesoundofthepolice · 16/09/2020 00:59

@Onxob definitely not in my experience. I
only have a small amount and my forehead/eye area just looks relaxed and line free not tight and shiny

blueshoes · 16/09/2020 01:18

I am worried long term use of Botox will paralyse and cause your face to look weird and lax eventually. Like a pillow.

ElaineMarieBenes · 16/09/2020 01:20

Zero

MrsTerryPratchett · 16/09/2020 01:27

Zero but I do spend a decent amount on serum, wash and creams. And late 40s it's definitely made my skin brighter.

I do think that I've spent a lot of my life smoking, laughing and having a sympathetic expression on my face. Which shows in where my lines are. That works for me. People who scowl and pout show that too. I remember old women when I was young whose faces were like old apples, but lovely and beautiful. That's what I aspire to, rather than eternal youth!

LUZON · 16/09/2020 01:31

£0. I can't be arsed and I'm happy with my looks.

Oblomov20 · 16/09/2020 01:34

When are you supposed to start? How would I know if it's too late?

porridgeface · 16/09/2020 01:34

£220 approx 3 times a year (3 areas)

liverbird10 · 16/09/2020 01:35

£0. Confused

TheLastStarfighter · 16/09/2020 01:38

Late 40s. I do facial yoga so no major problem areas yet, but I can see me eventually getting something done for lines between the eyebrows. Is that what people call “11 lines”? I can see them just starting and I think they would make me look grumpy if they became pronounced.

1forAll74 · 16/09/2020 01:49

Would never have botox or fillers etc. Some people look quite odd after having these things done.

DameHannahRelf · 16/09/2020 01:50

£0 because I think no matter how much people who've had it done seem to delude themselves, it rarely looks natural, and I think the fillers in particular can end up making some women look older (usually younger women who don't need it, who have it). I'd rather age gracefully, than fill my face with stuff as a way of signalling how desperate I am try to look younger. When I notice people have had it done, my first thought is usually "why bother" as it rarely seems to actually makes them look younger, they just look like they've had botox/fillers.

DameHannahRelf · 16/09/2020 01:53

I also know a few people who've had it done, who look a lot more "hard faced" with it too? I don't know if it's that they just can't convey emotions the way they used to, or what it is, but it defo seems to be a thing, and it makes them look older than others with softer expressions.

netsybetsy · 16/09/2020 01:56

52 and Astral is my only skincare.

CSIblonde · 16/09/2020 02:16

Nothing. Been moisturising since 15. Now 50 & only one or two wrinkles. Nivea. Lots of it. I even use the body lotion on my face as the almond oil in it makes your skin glow. Mega cheap too. Who wants to look like a frozen, plastic clone?

tiredbuttrendy · 16/09/2020 02:18

£0 I think it's tacky. And Your neck and hands will give away your age
