How much do you end up spending on Botox and fillers per year

I am 45 and beginning to look like hell. I know the price of Botox per thing but don’t know how much it ends up costing per year. How much do you end up sending year in year out? I am a Londoner. Thanks.

I reckon I can pretty much always spot it - not on photos but where their faces are in 3D

Mostly it just makes people look like an older woman with botox. If they want that then fair enough. I'd rather spend the money on a couple of mini breaks and just enjoy life. No shame in getting and looking older.

You know Botox is a poison? Starting in your 30s and having it 2/3 times every year from there on is a lot of toxin you’re choosing to put into your body.

Does no one feel uncomfortable about that?

ikeairgin · 17/09/2020 22:14

what are eleven lines? I haven't got that many (I spend £0, btw)

pontypridd · 17/09/2020 22:18

In my mind choosing to inject so much toxin into yourself might make you look younger temporarily - but it’s also highly likely to poison your body over time and shorten your life.
@Potterpotterpotter: but what if I he just wants to look better for the laydeez, bless you, and is indifferent to feeling better about himself?
@BlokeNumber9 then have it done, look better and pull more 😂

Lots of things are toxic.
Alcohol for example is a lot more harmful, as is many home cleaning products, and wax melts than people inhale. Pollution from living in cities, hair dye, deodorant, wearing high heels can damage your back.

All of these things are harmful and yet people weigh up the benefits to the risks and choose to do them.

Botox is an FDA approved drug that has been used since the 70's, it's used by millions of people every year, the side effects are minimal and it's proven to very safe if administered properly.

Do you have any evidence for this or have you just decided that?

Eleven lines are the two lines between your eyebrows, sometimes called frown lines.

Just had my first round of botox and absolutely love it. I’m 35 and was starting to look permanently knackered (because I am!). Not deep static lines but definitely the forehead 11.

I saw a friend who was looking brilliant and she mentioned she had had it done so I went for a consultation. I only had two areas as my eyes don’t need anything (I rarely smile!) and wouldn’t go for fillers as I have a tiny face and think it’d be obvious. I’m absolutely thrilled with the results, I feel like I’ve got my face from a few years ago back! Nobody knows I’ve done it apart from dh but it’s made a world of difference, I’m thrilled with it. It cost £200 and I’ll probably now go every three - six months.

Good for you wobbywoo - it really does give you a lift! I went with my sis for 11’s (my treat) and her first go two weeks before her wedding. She looked gorgeous and fresh and can’t wait to go again!
She is upduffed at the moment so not a runner for a while.

Thatbliddywoman · 18/09/2020 14:10

I go to students for botox. Does this make me an absolute bafoonGrin

I don't care. It's much cheaper and I love it. It certainly isn't to impress any men (Dyke). Smile

FranklyImCringeing · 18/09/2020 14:27

There may yet be long term side effects from Botox, most likely muscle atrophy. I guess we'll know more in the coming years about this, and what impact any potential atrophy might have on the appearance of the face.

Mummadeeze · 19/09/2020 07:04

I wish I could afford it and would if I could. But regular payments of that much just seems so extravagant to spend on myself. I do care about how I look but begrudge even forking out for a haircut. And I only home dye because of money. I spend money on holidays and experiences mainly, I guess it is a prioritising thing. But I would be straight to the clinic if I won the lottery for sure.

ukgift2016 · 19/09/2020 08:12

Interesting thread. I am 31 and am interested in boxtox, I think in a few years I will take the plunge.

Price don't seem that bad either.

FreyaFromTheFens · 20/09/2020 14:22

Had Botox (Azzalure) for the first time 3 months ago at 46.
It was £285.00 and was advised it will probably last for about 4 months.
The difference it has made is well worth it as I spend a lot of time outside in sun/wind/rain with my dogs and horses and was starting to look a bit weathered! Grin

IHeartSusanDey · 20/09/2020 20:11

Of course people can tell.😂😂 Your face doesn't move the way it should...you think people can't see that?Confused

MummBraTheEverLeaking · 20/09/2020 21:03

If I could afford it I probably would. I never used to think that and then I hit 40 and oh gosh my eyes! The skin on my eyelids sags, and around my eyes also. Any expression apart from resting bitch face equals grooves and deep rivets around the eye. The rest of my skin is fantastic, pretty much as it was in my 30s. Only around my eyes ages me way beyond my actual age (41) and I now hate smiling in photos because of the creases and hooded eye.

I know it's genetic, my mother has the same (great skin but hooded eyes), but she's in her 60s and her under eye creases and crows feet aren't nearly as bad as mine!

I'm very into skincare now (retinols, peptides, vit C, high SPF every day) but it doesn't touch the eye creases. If I have the money then I'd be all for it. Not for the rest of my days but for now. I don't spend masses on myself (I have clothes in my wardrobe over 20 years old) so why not. I don't expect no wrinkles when I smile, just not so so many Sad

I end up spending about £125 for each lip filler session but this is about twice a year so £250? I am perfectly confident with how I look but do like what lip fillers gives me in terms of my look and how I feel on a daily basis. I did worry about any side effects but I try and inform myself as much as possible! The clinic I go to writes a lot of informative pieces that are fairly unbiased (as far as I can tell) - www.aztheticsclinic.co.uk/lip-fillers-bristol/ which helps me to make an informed decision.

Each to their own I believe! As long as you're fully aware of everything when getting them done and that you're not masking insecurity issues by doing it, I don't see anything wrong with it!
