How much do you end up spending on Botox and fillers per year

I am 45 and beginning to look like hell. I know the price of Botox per thing but don’t know how much it ends up costing per year. How much do you end up sending year in year out? I am a Londoner. Thanks.

Zero, I'm 55. I think it's a waste of money and over time people look worse than if they'd done nothing imo.

Nikhedonia · 16/09/2020 17:00

Something tells me that people who get Botox for medical reasons will somehow be magically exempt from the ping pong ball shiny rubbery plastic ugliness that afflicts anyone who does it to get rid of lines.

@DameHannahRelf the whole point is when it is done right you DON’T notice it. Trust me there are a lot of people you would never imagine. If a friend of yours had it you wouldn’t notice from one day to the next but maybe a few weeks later you would say you look really nice today. Believe me you do not have some kind of special Botoxdar — lots of normal people you know just look a bit better.

the Botox I got done in my jaw is incredible for stopping me grinding my teeth

Now, that has got my attention. I clench my teeth so hard at night that my entire face aches. Did you have it done at the same place as the aesthetic botox?

sosotired1 · 16/09/2020 17:14

£0 and also stopped colouring my hair (tens of thousands in total over decades). As a very sensible friend said to me "its a mug's game". I think she might be right.

Yes but she's an aesthetic dentist.
I'd be very careful where you get it done and would only get it done by a dentist as they understand faces and jaws so well.

PollyPelargonium52 · 16/09/2020 17:21

To those who cant afford it try Elemis bliss capsules they soften lines and really perk up the face. Will tide u over until u have the readies. Not that Elemis is cheap mind!

Thank you. I’ll check that out, it sounds as if it would really benefit me.
Spidey66 · 16/09/2020 17:31

Zero. I would only consider it for medical reasons. I’m very low maintenance me!

54, for context.?

FaffingForEngland · 16/09/2020 17:49

@Nikhedonia

Could anyone in London recommend a good but fairly priced salon anywhere in London (happy to travel within any area of London). I'm interested in both botox and fillers, but fillers mainly.

Please do not go to a 'salon'. See a Dr or a nurse (who is able to prescribe and administer the injection). And see before and after photos of their work, especially on fillers.

Don't get it done by a nurse. They have nowhere near the anatomical knowledge of a doctor. I know someone who is a nurse and she does botox, she just did a really short course and bingo, off she went with her syringe. If I was having it done (which I'm not) the only person I'd let near me would be a plastic surgery consultant or a dentist.
Themadcatparade · 16/09/2020 17:54

30 years young.

About 150-250 on lip fillers once per year but I need to do this twice a year ideally. I have built my top lip up from next to nothing so a massive confidence boost.

My under eye bags have been so bad the past year I look permanently tired, so that’s the next thing I will consider.

I’d love to be in the mindset to age naturally and confidently but I’m just not their yet. I’m my opinion I look a lot older than I am, and I think this affects my self esteem

Pimmsypimms · 16/09/2020 18:14

I'm 42 op and I look like I have a permanent grumpy face due to a very prominent frown line between my eyes. I would love Botox but just cant afford the commitment to it. I worry that if I have it done once and then can't afford to continue with it, then it'll look even worse!

Dillydallyingthrough · 16/09/2020 18:18

Snoringferret thank you so much for that info. I'm sure my dentist does botox so will definitely ask about it when I see her next. Tbh, I don't know why I didn't think of her!!

Something tells me that people who get Botox for medical reasons will somehow be magically exempt from the ping pong ball shiny rubbery plastic ugliness that afflicts anyone who does it to get rid of lines.

I couldn't care less if people could tell, like I said quite a few of my friends have had it and I commented that they look fresh faced before they told me.

AlwaysInAQ · 16/09/2020 18:22

If you want your forehead and crows feet done expect to pay about £200-£300 and you will need it 2 or 3 times a year. Fillers depends on what you need? 1 syringe will do your lips twice a year £250 but if you are thinking face-rejuvenation then will be multiple syringes so £1000-£1500?

AlwaysInAQ · 16/09/2020 18:43

@FaffingForEngland
Mine is done by a Nurse (although she is in a clinic and not in a beauty salon) and she has done Advanced classes in complications and facial vasculature so knows exactly where every vein and muscle in your face is!
It's about doing your homework and making sure your Nurse has this knowledge.

FaffingForEngland · 16/09/2020 19:12

I'd still only let a doctor do it. No short course can cover the amount of anatomy medical students learn.

MolotovMocktail · 16/09/2020 19:42

£275 twice a year for Botox and about to try fillers for the first time which will be £500 and should last 12-18 months. Late 30’s, look younger and hoping to keep it that way a little longer.

Piglet89 · 16/09/2020 19:44

I’ve managed to plump up my skin by knocking the booze on the head. I do think it massively dries outs and ages you.

AmICrazyorWhat2 · 16/09/2020 19:56

I’m genuinely surprised that people in their 30’s have Botox, it seems so young to me!

Feellikedancingyeah · 16/09/2020 19:59

No. It's vanity

berryhead2013 · 16/09/2020 20:02

Does Botox help with eye bags

TheoneandObi · 16/09/2020 20:07

@MolotovMocktail but you ARE young if you're in your late thirties!

Nikhedonia · 16/09/2020 20:08

There's a lot of girls getting Botox in their 20s

AmICrazyorWhat2 · 16/09/2020 20:10

I’m just surprised that they bother spending the money! My skin was almost line-free u til around 40 and it’s not bad now at 46. Seems like a waste of cash.

AgeLikeWine · 16/09/2020 20:14

Nowt.

I’m from t’North. We don’t waste our brass on such nonsense.
