How much do you end up spending on Botox and fillers per year

I am 45 and beginning to look like hell. I know the price of Botox per thing but don’t know how much it ends up costing per year. How much do you end up sending year in year out? I am a Londoner. Thanks.

@AgeLikeWine

Nowt.

I’m from t’North. We don’t waste our brass on such nonsense.

Au contraire...

'I’m just surprised that they bother spending the money! My skin was almost line-free u til around 40 and it’s not bad now at 46. Seems like a waste of cash.'

Well whoopdeedo for you.

I don't know why people waste their money on slimming world when I'm thin.

WhitePumpkin · 16/09/2020 21:18

Agree with the comments about not having it done by a nurse - aesthetics doctor or dentist only. It takes an incredible amount of knowledge, training and experience in facial anatomy to administer Botox and fillers correctly and avoid the end results looking how some of the more negative posters have described.

I know a nurse who does it to earn extra money and some of the 'after' photos I've seen on her facebook page have that tell tale 'botox squint' to their eyes or uneven fillers. It's expensive wherever you go and lasts for months so choose wisely!!

Why are people who haven't had Botox commenting on this? The OP was clearly after a price comparison, and not a load of smug £0s.

HomeEdRocks18 · 16/09/2020 22:04

Zero. I'm 38. No need to get chemical shit pumped into my face. Eating healthy and exercises is enough for me

Nikhedonia · 16/09/2020 22:48

Why are people who haven't had Botox commenting on this?

Because it makes them feel morally superior?

VestaTilley · 16/09/2020 23:06

£0. Why would you put poison in to your body?

I hate the idea that women are made to feel so bad about ageing that they resort to body modification Sad

AnnaFiveTowns · 16/09/2020 23:10

Nothing. A fringe can do wonders 😁

WinifredSanderson · 16/09/2020 23:11

Zero

Snoringferret · 16/09/2020 23:12

Why would you put poison in to your body?

So you've never had a drink or a tattoo or eaten a Haribo or had a joint or put on deodorant or used hormonal contraception or many of the other million ways people put poison into their bodies every day.

Imissmoominmama · 16/09/2020 23:13

£0. I find my face looks much better when I drink lots of water... and a bit shit when I don’t.

WatershipDown7 · 16/09/2020 23:13

£0. Waste of money.

Pinkchocolate · 16/09/2020 23:17

I’m 39 and I’ve been looking it, it’s only a matter of time. I’m in London and my friends who have it done locally spend between £150-200 every sixth months.

Fallowdeerhunter · 16/09/2020 23:21

Shame on all you women commenting on what other women want to do with their own bodies whilst trying to pretend they’re coming from a feminist POV

I'm struggling to see any pretence in pointing out the immense pressure on women to look younger than they actually are. That's not a criticism of women who do it, but it absolutely is a feminist issue to point out the pressure to do it
Nikhedonia · 16/09/2020 23:30

It's also a misunderstanding that everyone who gets Botox does it to look younger

I don't think a single person on this thread has said that there isn't a pressure on a women to look younger.

However women don't only have Botox to look younger.

Fallowdeerhunter · 16/09/2020 23:39

@FranklyImCringeing why does Botox have to be to look younger. I’m 45 and have zero interest in looking younger but I dye my hair, have Botox and do things that make ME feel good about myself.

AmICrazyorWhat2 · 16/09/2020 23:50

@Snoringferret. But you’ve got to admit that MOST people in their 20’s are wrinkle-free? Probably well into their 30’s.

Fallowdeerhunter · 16/09/2020 23:53

@AmICrazyorWhat2 what’s that got to do with anything. Having Botox prevents wrinkles

AmICrazyorWhat2 · 17/09/2020 00:11

Shows what I know, I thought it just smoothed them out! Honestly, I did. But you’d have to do it for years though, right? You’d have to maintain the quantity of Botox in your skin?

CyberNan · 17/09/2020 00:24

£0

i'm too mean to spend that amount of money on my face... i don't want to be 90 and look 40.. (no.. really,.. i don't... honest...)

i'm 57 next month... but i stopped looking in the mirror about 20 years ago..

Snoringferret · 17/09/2020 00:25

All Botox does is relax the muscles that cause lines.
If you had it when you were younger and stopped all that would happen is in the time you had your muscles relaxed for you wouldn't be making more lines, but when it wore off you'd start making them again, but you'd still get that time you weren't making lines for.

It can also train you to use your muscles differently so it can train you not to frown as much for example.

AmICrazyorWhat2 · 17/09/2020 01:04

Hmm, maybe I should start now and look 46 forever.🤣

Sad that you've internalised patriarchal beauty standards. There is nothing feminist about that.
