She's tall and slim, model perfect, always made up, perfect hair, beautifully dressed and all she seems to do is rage at other women for their beauty choices. I know we can't help how we look but she just seems the biggest hypocrite. AIBU for thinking this?

OP posts:
WildAboutMyPlanet · 14/09/2020 08:21

@Sanitisethat Ive looked but I can’t find it, I think it may have been deleted because myself and lots of others wrote comments asking her what she was doing. She was basically attacking really thin models and saying horrible stuff. I get that lots of people comment on models weight and the push for them to be very thin is a big problem, but the way she went about it was awful and very upsetting. To me, she should be supporting ALL
bodies and issues. It was just disappointing as it felt like she was saying really small bodies are fine to attack, no matter why someone might have that shape, if that makes sense? I’ll have another look for it.

Turtleturtle81 · 14/09/2020 08:24

I’m no fan of Kim Kardashian - but reading up on the pregnancy shape wear line it actually sounds like it’s pregnancy support wear, not stuff to make you look slimmer. I saw that it includes bump support and support leggings. These are all products that are readily available and helpful in pregnancy to make you feel comfortable and help with aches and pains. Why are people not angrily tweeting every high street retailer for selling the same thing?
Isn’t being a feminist about having the choice to wear this stuff if you want without criticism anyway?

SleepingInYourFlowerbed · 14/09/2020 08:25

Her body neutrality does seem to be targeted at larger people to accept their bodies rather than slimmer people

SerenityNowwwww · 14/09/2020 08:25

@BlackbirdFirst

She is gorgeous and perfect looking but I've never heard her speak. So yabu
I wouldn’t bother. She is insufferable in her opinions on women. Wokey McWokeface.
LovelyLovelyMe · 14/09/2020 08:25

She is not "nuanced"-what rubbish.

This is often something that is applied when the subject knows that what they have said is plain wrong and implies that the audience must be thick not to appreciate the subtleties of what they are saying. Usually, that's because there is no subtlety or nuance to be found.

She is as subtle as a brick in her quest to make women bow down to men who are pretending to be women.

I await with baited indifference her declaration that she is now pansexual or other such tripe.

CodenameVillanelle · 14/09/2020 08:25

She's a performative woke wanker with if you believe the internet a severe case of munchausens syndrome. Whether or not that's true she's still a wanker

CaveMum · 14/09/2020 08:26

Her comments towards JK Rowling showed her true colours - a bully who will jump on any bandwagon that will give her “woke points”.

WildAboutMyPlanet · 14/09/2020 08:28

@pinkbalconyrailing she has written that as she has gone after Kim K for her ‘maternity shapewear’. I don’t like Kim K particularly and I wouldn’t wear maternity shapewear as all through my pregnancy I have wanted to be the loosest, baggiest stuff possible, but Jameela has never been pregnant so how can she know what support is important for pregnant women? Shapewear is probably not a good word to be honest, but lots of women like support for their bumps and legs to make them feel more comfortable as pregnancy is bloody uncomfortable! Just because Jameela doesn’t understand it or like it doesn’t mean that it should be ‘cancelled’. I don’t believe Kim K is suggesting that pregnant women need to look slim, I believe she has created a line to support pregnant bodies, the same as LOADS of clothing out there already does. But it’s a good bandwagon to jump on and say it’s attack on pregnant women and make her look good. As a heavily pregnant woman who has gained weight and whose body looks very different, I am not offended by Kim’s line and anything that makes you feel more comfortable and happier in pregnancy is ALWAYS a bonus! For me it’s an xxxxl T-shirt and pants, for other women it’s something which holds their bumps up. Each to their own!

Brot64 · 14/09/2020 08:31

^^ thought the same after the JKR comment. She is extremely irritating too. Seems to use anything "woke" to keep her relevant. She also seems believes that her opinion is the only valid one.

LockdownLump · 14/09/2020 08:37

She's an absolute tit-head.

And I've come to the conclusion that she is also as thick as fuck.

There seems to be absolutely nothing she hasn't experienced. If you've been to Tenerife, she will have been to elevenerife, suffered some disaster whilst there, picked up some wisdom o. Her way back and will shove it down your throat at the first opportunity.

She's a woke joke.

popcornlover · 14/09/2020 08:42

Can’t bare her.

SerenityNowwwww · 14/09/2020 08:43

She writes something silly.

People point it out.

She makes a revelation of some illness/trauma/life experience/sexual orientation, steps away from twitter to ‘heal’, receives a lot of ‘Queen’ and ‘we love you tweets’ and is back in a few days.

feelingverylazytoday · 14/09/2020 08:45

Anyway that thinks it ok to put men in women's prisons is a nasty person so there you go, Jameela. Hope your oversized ego leads to you googling this thread.

user1477391263 · 14/09/2020 08:53

She reminds me of a former friend I had, who would just spring credulously onto every woke bandwagon that came by, and was only as intelligent as the last person she had spoken to. She wasn't evil, just a bit bloody stupid.

My fave JJ movement was the thing where she praised Louis Farakhan in a tweet and then had to backtrack really quick as people pointed out that he is a vile homophobic antisemite.

CottonHeadedNinyMuggins · 14/09/2020 08:53

She is vicious and has perfected her stance at making herself a victim when people actually start to question the strange things she says.

The amount of things wrong with her/that have happened to her are testamount to Munchausens. Even things that other people witnessed such as a 'terrifying bee swarm attacking her' (aka a couple of bees buzzing past)

I read a post on a forum where someone who went to school with her has been targeted by both Jameela and her mum (her mum by all accounts having been quite unpleasent to Jameela growing up and making her a lot of what she is) Neither of them come out well.

The forum has quite the list of Jameela's fake(d)/over exaggerated illnesses/conditions too.

TweeBree · 14/09/2020 08:57

and was only as intelligent as the last person she had spoken to.

This this this.

northstars · 14/09/2020 08:59

I think she’s a bully and no friend to women. Going after Kim Kardashian got her a lot of attention the first time; perhaps that’s why she continues to do so now.

I was pleased to see the ratio on her “pregnant people” twitter post though.

CaveMum · 14/09/2020 09:03

She’s more than happy to throw any woman who doesn’t agree 100% with her under the bus. Just look at her friendship with Danielle/Daniel Muscato - a transwoman who delightfully proclaimed on Twitter that any one who believed women can’t have a penis could suck “her” dick.

user1471565182 · 14/09/2020 09:05

I think everybody knew her various illnessess were bullshit didnt they.

ifiwasascent · 14/09/2020 09:05

She calls people like Kim Kardashian out for flaunting stupid diet stuff. She's one of the few honest celebs out there and is using her status for sometbing good.

UpperLowercaseSymbolNumber · 14/09/2020 09:06

I find her a mixed bag. On the one hand I do think she make some important points with her platform. For instance that Photo shopping everything with an inch of its life isn’t healthy for anyone and that body hair and wobbly bits are perfectly normal and not to be ashamed of. She also highlights some importanr points around celebrities selling diet culture I would agree with.

On the OP’s specific point I’ve heard her talk about this and I feel her answer was quite good. She said that people use this to try and shut her up because she is attractive but if she were less attractive she would be described as jealous and so really it’s just a method of shutting up women generally on the point. I

On other matters though particularly in relation to trans issues I think she is at best misguided and at worst malicious. Anybody who has the slightest reservation about a clash between women’s rights and trans demands is immediately labelled a bigot. Particularly saddens me that having suffered from eating disorders herself she can’t see the parallels between that and the rise of trans-identification in teenage girls.

ForgotAboutThis · 14/09/2020 09:12

She just seems like she would be really hard work to be friends with/spend any time with. I'm sure she means well, but it's like she's desperately trying to fit in with a particular group of people, which is surely the opposite of what she talks about all the time?

IheartJKR · 14/09/2020 09:15

@ifiwasascent

She calls people like KK our to raise her status and because it’s easy. Jamil does more harm to women than help....honest? Hmm I would wholeheartedly disagree. In fact, I would go so far as to say she is a malicious, spiteful liar.
Jillyhilly · 14/09/2020 09:19

Thin-skinned narcissist with a huge victimhood complex playing out her personality disorder In public through her “support” of any oppressed group she can find. As a case study of the Social Justice Warrior psychology she has some purpose, I’ll give her that.

BrumBoo · 14/09/2020 09:19

This is one of my biggest issue. You cannot promote 'love yourself, you'll never be the person you imagine in your head' ideology on one hand, and 'feel like you're a different gender? Of course you should bow to sociological gender ideals, pump yourself full of hormones, be allowed to have huge body alternating surgeries and be a 'pretty lady' that's how you 'feel', anyone who disagrees is a bigot!' on the other.
