Cliff Richard at St Paul's Cathedral, a good 50 years ago.

CatsFantastic · 10/09/2020 18:34

I’ve met a fair few, i used to work in theatre, and about 13 years ago I used to go out with someone who was very famous in the last few years - I ditched him for my now DH, who thinks it’s really funny , he tells everyone at his work and he’s pretty sure they think it’s bollocks!

The most famous person I’ve met is Angelina Jolie, and I got slightly star struck which is unusual for me !

listsandbudgets · 10/09/2020 19:00

Dan TDM ( This was not my choice but DDs)

David Cameron and Tony Blair ( separately)

Wowcherarestalkingme · 10/09/2020 19:03

Dermot O’Leary. He’s exactly the same as he is on the TV. Nice guy

She was lovely, and as she is so tiny not hugely bigger than my then four year old!
AuntyMabelandPippin · 10/09/2020 19:27

@Redannie118 The Oven Door? I met KK there a lot.

I also remember Norman Wisdom walking around.

workshy44 · 10/09/2020 19:28

Victoria Beckham - she is skinner in real life if you can imagine - like a tall 7 year old. I’m 5 7 and just over 8 stone and I remember thinking the top of my arms were about the size of her thighs

BatleyTownswomensGuild · 10/09/2020 19:28

Terry Jones

I pretty much never meet anyone famous!

Cherie Booth is probably the most famous person I’ve met 😂

Just pleased he didn’t stomp on her shoes with his very dirty trainers!

A friend is an Olympic gold medallist in a less well known sport. I'm not sure they are famous really tho. Their name would have been familiar/known around the peak of their career, but I dont think anyone would recognise it now outside the sport.

I literally don't think I've ever met anyone else who is remotely famous! I clearly don't move in those circles

user1471548941 · 10/09/2020 19:51

I used to work in a 5 star hotel, the kind where you signed an NDA with your contract because of the frequency of “celebrity” guests.

We had a memorable week where Man Utd where in town to play our local team and all came for dinner. I served Ryan Giggs his meatballs! Very starstruck to see so many familiar faces in one room.

The very next day Stephen Fry arrived, I nearly ran in to Mark Webber as he left the restaurant (lovely bloke) and me and a colleague were scratching our heads as to why the guy on Table 5 looked familiar, checked the name in the guest book and realised it was Howard from Take That (faints!). My family are big motorsport and Take That fans and I couldn’t say a word about it all until a month later when I got fired (terrible place to work, massive drug problem amongst the staff)!

NoIDontWatchLoveIsland · 10/09/2020 19:52

Actually I take it back. I was involved in a youth project with my local mp as a teenager. Back then mp in question was a minor backbencher, they are now quite well known & famous! I shan't say who as i was pictured in local press with them so its terribly outing Grin

JMG1234 · 10/09/2020 19:59

Mine's a random bunch
Princess Anne
Cliff Richard (several times, friend of my godmother)
James Fox and family (through my parents)
George Osborne - ice skating at Somerset House, was surprisingly friendly
Martin Kemp - fairly regularly as lives locally
Edwina Currie - in the loos at the Wolseley
A fair few rugby and England and Aussie cricket players, mainly using school facilities etc

CauliflowerCheese30 · 10/09/2020 19:59

I once had dinner with Jemima Khan as she was friends with others there. Thought she was a bit bitchy.

JMG1234 · 10/09/2020 20:05

I'm also envious of the poster who met Jimmy White, one of my more eclectic teenage crushes...
