Most famous/recognisable? I'd say Roy Keane, and he was absolutely lovely

minty133 · 04/05/2021 23:23

Ralph Fiennes

Bond James Bond. I was not shaken but stirred.

Watchingyouwazowski · 04/05/2021 23:41

Robbie Williams - lovely bloke.

Ninkanink · 04/05/2021 23:42

@Saggyoldsofa

And Sean Connery in a lift once.

My favourite (but vicarious) famous person non-encounter was that my long term ex sat on Simone de B's knee in france. There was a lovely pic of him, her, and Jean Paul Sartre...

That’s quite cool.

I once sat on Sir Alf Ramsey's knee when I was little (Grandad was an Ipswich town fan) and I met Sid James at a fair he opened - he chatted up my Mum

Wilkolampshade · 04/05/2021 23:56

Paul McCartney.

Shagged a now ex PM when at Oxford (less said about that the better)

Al Murray - also when at Oxford, poshest person I met there. When he started with the whole Pub Landlord thing I had trouble believing it was him...

I then worked for the BBC for a number of years...

David Tennant - playfully punched him in the arm (during his Doctor Who days) He was/is fucking gorgeous.

Gary Lineker - fucking twat. Truth will come out one day about that twat.

David Warner - very tall and very nice. Remembered me after the first time we met. Rather wish I'd gone there...

Elizabeth Taylor - met her at the Venice Film Festival at some point in the 80s. I was drunk as a skunk (so was she) and throwing up noisily in a bathroom in a bar she came into. She was very concerned about me (I was underage) and very nice. I ended up sitting with her and her friends and she had us all crying with laughter. No airs or graces about her, she was so nice. Probably my favourite encounter.

Oh I met Gary Lineker once on a garage forecourt after Italia '90.

Three teenage girls - we whistled at him from the car and came over and invited us back to his hotel. I'm sure Michelle would have been delighted.
