When i was a teen worked in a teashop in Newcastle(80s) Kevin Keegan and Paul Gasgoine came in all the time( both lovely and big tippers!l)
Same cafe, Norman Wisdom used to come in all the time. His best friend from his army years lived next door. He was just the lovliest man ever and always ordered mince and dumplings, then would take his plate to the Kitchen to wash when he was finished!
Charlton Heston in a Nat West in Newcastle- he was in a Shakespeare play in The Theatre Royal accross the road.
Mark Addy in a kids playground in Northumberland. My kids were playing with his and we had a bit of chat. Lovely man.

dalrympy · 10/09/2020 13:30

Mick jagger

IntermittentParps · 10/09/2020 13:30

most famous was probably Will Smith. Lovely bloke.
I take it you mean Men in Black, not Will Smith from The Thick of It? The latter used to live near me. DP and I established a neighbourly connection (as in nodding/saying hello in the street) but it took ages and he never looked all that happy to see us. Maybe he thought we were going to get star-struck and run up to him screaming Grin

indemMUND · 10/09/2020 13:34

@WhoresDerves He's a lovely man! Very funny and can be quite sweet Grin

lazylinguist · 10/09/2020 13:42

Helena Bonham-Carter and Tim Burton in a children's playground in the village where I used to live. She was very pleasant and chatted with me briefly while our dc played on the swings. He stood in the far corner of the playground, stared into the distance and said nothing.

Tyson Fury and both Chuckle Brothers

PuttyPat · 10/09/2020 14:45

My husband is good friends with quite a famous rapper.

I always find it really weird as they are complete opposites but randomly met and get on so well. He's goes round for brews regularly, this person's mum gave us lots of stuff for our kids when they were younger. My friends were so jealous when they first found out as I have a few who fancy this person 😂

He's lovely Smile

PuttyPat · 10/09/2020 14:48

Oh and I had a friend who was good friends with Tom Hardy's ex wife so she met him quite a few times at their kids parties and stuff. Didn't meet him myself though 💔

MinnieMD · 10/09/2020 14:50

Most famous would be Kanye West and he was actually lovely, his whole entourage were too.

KittyMcKitty · 10/09/2020 14:52

Nadiya Hussain- quite possibly the nicest person I have ever met.

Philip Schofield - teeny tiny - child sized! V pleasant though.

I went to 6th Form with Colin Firths brother (also an actor but obv not mega famous like Colin).

APurpleSquirrel · 10/09/2020 14:58

Richard E Grant
Misha Collins

WuthPP · 10/09/2020 15:34

Well I didn't meet him but he walked past me in London when I was looking silly and flapping around for my keys and he gave me a smile, which counts as jolly nice in my books.
Rhine · 10/09/2020 16:02

Princess Diana.

ZaraW · 10/09/2020 16:05

Bob Hoskins. Saw him back in the 90's cleaning his car in North London. We said hi and had a bit of a chat.

jessstan2 · 10/09/2020 16:09

I talked earlier about people I met during work but forget about home and near home. I regularly bumped into Alex Walkinshaw (Smithy in the Bill and Fletch in Holby), in Sainsbury's down the road. I met both Hale and Pace, my son went to school with Norman Pace's son and with Gary Bushell's son; there was someone else (who also had a son), but can't remember his name, not a very personable person. I can picture him, used to see him on TV, some sort of journalist/presenter.

ABCDay · 10/09/2020 16:41

@NC4Now

Tyson Fury and both Chuckle Brothers
That really tickled me GrinGrinGrin
Macramacious · 10/09/2020 16:46

@implantsandaDyson

Jamie Dornan - we had a few mutual friends a long time ago. Roughly around the Keira Knightley relationship time. He was lovely, quiet, a bit scundered about the attention but very funny.

A good few local politicians, political leaders (NI).
Snow Patrol a few times, around Gary's heart in the right place time but Christ he was overbearingly earnest.
And Jimmy Nesbitt - dick and obviously has a very small bladder judging by the amount of times he "nipped to the loo" Hmm

I've just watched The Fall on Netflix and I'm VERY jealous!
