@bumpertobumper

Dali Lama

Oh wow! What was he like?
I met Archbishop Desmond Tutu years ago. Incredibly welcoming & positive. Would love to meet the Dali too 😊

I completely forgot the funniest (and crappest) one! I was doing security at an event and Blazin Squad were performing. It was in the city centre for the Christmas lights switch on, so everywhere was rammed. They had been given a room in the hotel in the city centre (where the Beatles shot one of their album covers) so they could come out, wave from the balcony and then leave. They were in their early to mid teens at the time. Teenage girls realised where the exit to the hotel was and mobbed it. We had a line of security holding them back and it was my job to lead them out through this cordon to their limo. The one that went on Love Island a couple of years ago was crying that he wanted his mum, he was scared of the crowds pushing around the cordon.

At a similar event, Atomic Kitten. They demanded jelly beans, cherryade and crayons on their rider. They had the lyrics to their songs sellotaped to the floor of the stage in front of the crosses for where they were to stand, and the running order.

-might have given DH a blow job on that stage after the event whilst we were doing a night shift, which is how I saw the sellotaped evidence--

mollypuss1 · 10/09/2020 11:31

More than I can count due to my job, most famous was probably Will Smith. Lovely bloke.

Treaclepie19 · 10/09/2020 12:13

Not sure who is most famous so Russell Brand/Noel Fielding/Charlie Simpson 😁

Othering · 10/09/2020 12:14

@onlyconnect

Othering Gary Lineker "Pervy little letch"?! How disappointing, he's my celebrity crush!
He's well known for being like a dog on heat.
Deadringer · 10/09/2020 12:19

Bono, but not sure if he counts as everyone has met him.

SingingInTheShithouse · 10/09/2020 12:31

@Riv12345

*Right said Fred

Very down to earth lovely guys*

There was a time I would agree & count 1 of them as a friend as we were once close neighbours & I was always impressed that they never let fame go to their heads, as happened with a few others I've known. Sadly his politics lets him down badly & he didn't appreciate you calling him out on it & we fell out

AriettyHomily · 10/09/2020 12:34

Prince Charles, Prince Edwards (interesting), the Queen.

Mark Owen, Robbie & Garry

Chris Evans

implantsandaDyson · 10/09/2020 12:37

Jamie Dornan - we had a few mutual friends a long time ago. Roughly around the Keira Knightley relationship time. He was lovely, quiet, a bit scundered about the attention but very funny.

A good few local politicians, political leaders (NI).
Snow Patrol a few times, around Gary's heart in the right place time but Christ he was overbearingly earnest.
And Jimmy Nesbitt - dick and obviously has a very small bladder judging by the amount of times he "nipped to the loo" Hmm

wonkylegs · 10/09/2020 12:50

Janet Jackson

Dartsplayer · 10/09/2020 12:54

Frankie Dettori was very arrogant when I met him

ultragroupie · 10/09/2020 12:56

Lazarus Lake Grin

Toilenstripes · 10/09/2020 12:57

Desmond Tutu. Lovely, sweet man.

Dartsplayer · 10/09/2020 12:58

Haha I reckon she'd fit into the group nicely 😂😂

BewilderedDoughnut · 10/09/2020 13:07

I’m related to a very famous person but don’t want to out myself by saying who it is! 😂

IpanemaSunshine · 10/09/2020 13:12

Prince Phillip awarded me a sporting medal at Windsor castle. I’m not a royal fan particularly but he was very pleasant to chat to with sparkly blue eyes.

schnubbins · 10/09/2020 13:14

Arnold Schwarzenegger

Franz Beckenbauer

Lincslady53 · 10/09/2020 13:15

The Queen, Carl Fogarty, Geoff Hurst, Frank Carson, Steven Gerrard, Sir Tom Finney, Neil Buchanan, David Shepherd(the artist) Ronnie Wood, Bobby Ball, Tommy Mallett. Tommy Mallett was exhibiting his paintings in our gallery. He was daft Tommy with most customers, but as soon as someone asked about his paintings he instantly changed to serious artist Timny. I also met Rolf Harris about 3 months before he was arrested, again at a launch of his paintings.

Lincslady53 · 10/09/2020 13:16

Timmy Mallett not his lesser known brother Tommy!

ScribblyGum · 10/09/2020 13:17

Timmy Mallet.

I’ve sung at Princess Anne but that doesn’t count.

ScribblyGum · 10/09/2020 13:18

OMG.
Two juxtaposed Timmy Mallet (t) meeters.

He did get around a bit.

ScribblyGum · 10/09/2020 13:19

I’ve thought of someone better than Timmy though.
Flash Gordon.

AdaColeman · 10/09/2020 13:23

Princess Margaret, Prince Philip.

Not quite so well known, Paul McCartney's brother.
