Hells teeth, I did not mean to quote!

jessstan2 · 10/09/2020 00:49

I met quite a few at work over the years, I couldn't say who was the most famous. Maybe George Carey who was AofC some years back. Plenty of actors, opera singers, politicians, foreign royalty but I don't think I ever met any British royals, certainly none of the premier ones.

One person I remember very well was Gary Moore, the guitarist. I didn't recognise him at the time :-). He had some bad healed scars on his face but they didn't spoil his looks. Some years later I felt sad when he died such miserable death. Oh and the old comedian, Jimmy Jewel. He was absolutely charming.

Crylittlesister · 10/09/2020 00:54

jackdaw it deserved a quote, she is a fine woman. Extra points for use of the underused "Hells teeth".

MyTeethAreInMyMouth · 10/09/2020 02:55

David Walliams. Asked him if I could get a picture with him, he said yes and came over and hugged me, He is very tall compared to me and I literally got stuck underneath his armpit, He had to hunch over to even get my face in the picture. I know he seems to get a lot of hate, But I have been a fan of him and Matt Lucas since the 90s so it made my day.

Dryadia · 10/09/2020 02:58

Zsa Zsa Gabor. About 35 years ago, full on hollywood glamour inc fur coat and the Rolls.

I also met the Queen Mother as a very young child but don't remember much. I think the helicopter landing in front of our school left more of an impression.

Some of my stepdad's family were really good friends with Oliver Reed, but that was before my time unfortunately. The stories we kids over heard though..

Jd1313 · 10/09/2020 03:04

@myteethareinmymouth that's really surprising given his reputation

Time40 · 10/09/2020 03:18

Am I the only person who had to google George Sampson ?

I have no idea who he is, and I can't be bothered to Google.

My most famous, in the sense of actually meeting and talking to properly is probably Quentin Crisp .... whom I loved to death, but who turned out to be rather disappointing.

lookatmememe · 10/09/2020 03:22

I work in the gardens of lots of 'so called' celebs. I'm no longer impressed by any of them. Most ignore you or are rude. The lovely ones a so few and far between. I'm not able to divulge names as I'm under a disclosure contract.
@myteethareinmymouth that's really surprising given his reputation
I see people online saying he is creepy but they never seem to elaborate much further than that. Met him a few times now and he has always been nice and respectful to me which is what I base it off.

HeronLanyon · 10/09/2020 03:43

Ella Fitzgerald. After a concert.

I poured out love and respect - she was absolutely amazing. Pure pure real genius talent. Legend.

Only more recently have I realised quite what an extraordinary woman she was and what an unbelievable life she had.

Longdistance · 10/09/2020 05:00

Prince William when he was at Edinburgh uni.

I’ve also met Amy Winehouse. She had red wine for breakfast. She was with that rotten Blake Civil-Fielder guy. She was titchy. She came to my galley to ask for tissues as Blake decided to wipe his snot on her Sad

IJumpedAboardAPirateShip · 10/09/2020 05:01

I have a list but my most internationally famous is probably Jeff Goldblum

IJumpedAboardAPirateShip · 10/09/2020 05:02

@Longdistance I never met Amy but I knew Blake. Fucking cunting arsehole on so so many levels. She wasn’t the only girlfriend he got hooked on heroin

ItsLateHumpty · 10/09/2020 05:26

The Queen 👑

Served her some spuds I did Grin some other big wigs were there too but she’s the Boss.

She also asked me for a G&T - a double - so I think she found the event as interesting as I did.
