Summarise in maximum 3 words the performance of the current UK government

OP posts:
Howslifenow · 08/09/2020 23:45

Another u turn

Howslifenow · 08/09/2020 23:45

No fucking clue

ChavvySexPond · 08/09/2020 23:58

Test and Trace? FAILED

Summarise the performance of the current UK government
StoneofDestiny · 09/09/2020 00:18

Corrupt, inept, shambolic

Hereinthesticks · 09/09/2020 08:46

Incompetent corrupt liars

Mumratheevergiving · 09/09/2020 09:00

@Mumratheevergiving

'still waiting for a poster to actually give a 3 word endorsement of the Government's performance'

@GetOffYourHighHorse Why? are we kids, is it all some kind of game, must it be 3 words or your'e it?

Because it relates to the question set by the OP of the thread you are on.
My point was support for the Government currently is conspicuous by its absence.

@GetOffYourHighHorse

The Government must think we are kids as they love a 3 word slogan, the latest being:
"Hands. Face. Space”

StormzyinaTCup · 09/09/2020 09:10

The Government must think we are kids as they love a 3 word slogan, the latest being:
"Hands. Face. Space”

As has been proved over the last six months even that’s a struggle though for some people to understand. Kind of why we are facing new social restrictions.

IpanemaSunshine · 09/09/2020 09:14

Always deflecting blame

(It’s never their fault)

Clavinova · 09/09/2020 09:49

We don't compare too well with other nations with huge density of population, such as South Korea or Japan.

Keir Starmer kept suggesting we copy South Korea - he's obviously more in tune with Labour voters than I am;

"South Korea is also enforcing a law that grants the government wide authority to access data: CCTV footage, GPS tracking data from phones and cars, credit card transactions, immigration entry information, and other personal details of people confirmed to have an infectious disease."

Clavinova · 09/09/2020 10:39

It’s interesting to note that overall, female leaders coped much better with the pandemic than their male counterparts.

What a nonsense study;

"Belgium is an outlier"
Indeed - Belgium have a female PM and currently have the second highest death rate per 1M population in the world (excluding San Marino).

"For example, Finland was better than Sweden, Austria and France in terms of both cases and deaths."

Why compare Finland to France and Austria?
"France 89.3 million overnight arrivals in 2018 - 207.3 million international arrivals in France in 2017 (both day visitors and overnight)."

"Countries led by women have performed better, especially in terms of deaths and this is true whether we consider the nearest comparable nation."
"Hong Kong, which is led by a woman, recorded 1,056 cases and four deaths while Singapore"... "is led by a man, recorded 28,794 cases and 22 deaths in the same period."

But now Hong Kong has more deaths than Singapore; 99 and 27.

Not to mention Angela Merkel - who will be pleased that her womanly intuition saved the day - nothing to do with the fact that she previously worked as a research scientist and has doctorate in quantum chemistry.

Clavinova · 09/09/2020 10:54

has a doctorate

Another u turn
The British government are not making more "U-turns" than other governments - that is a false narrative peddled by the left;

5 August;
"In U-turn, Finland to recommend remote working after Covid-19 surge."
www.dawn.com/news/1572749

13 August; "Finland in face mask U-turn, recommends usage."
www.dw.com/en/coronavirus-digest-finland-in-face-mask-u-turn-recommends-usage/a-54546627

"Another day, another u-turn for the [Irish] government."

ItWasTheBestOfTimes · 09/09/2020 11:18

Do you get paid to defend the government on here Clavinova? I ask because the only time I ever see you post is to copy and paste articles defending the government. I just don’t see what the point is when everyone knows that for every article you post from say the Telegraph with one interpretation of events, there will be an article in the Guardian with the opposite interpretation. Take yesterday and the admission from the government that they intend to breach international law, I’m sure you can go and find an opinion piece from the Express or Daily Mail stating that it’s actually a good thing but reading it won’t change the minds of the type of people, including me, who are likely to post on this thread. I don’t have an affinity to any political party (I’ve voted both Labour and Conservative previously) so I find people like you who support a political party like they would a football team to be, well, a bit odd. Objectively surely even the most ardent Conservative supporter should be able to admit that this is the worst government we’ve had in some time, albeit in very challenging times.

VinylDetective · 09/09/2020 11:36

Ah, there you are @Clavinova, I must have summoned you. All we need now is for Cendrillon to come along to back you up. Do you really believe what you post?

Clavinova · 09/09/2020 11:36

Do you get paid to defend the government on here Clavinova?

No, I enjoy it. Also, I spotted this earlier today and thought I would oblige;

"but even the usual Tory fan girls have gone missing in action recently. No sign of Cendrillon or Clavinder (sic) for ages now."

I find people like you who support a political party like they would a football team to be, well, a bit odd.

Are Liberal Democrat members a bit odd as well? I suppose this bunch have a slightly crazed look in their eyes if you look really closely;

It's tedious isn't it. I wouldn't mind but the articles posted do not compare like with like. E.g. if you criticise UK testing, they will post a few paragraphs from an article about how France is 'failing' in its target to test 1 million people a day, or how one state in Germany had decided to test every returning holidaymaker for free, but this was 'failing' because it was taking more than 48 hours in some cases.

Clavinova · 09/09/2020 11:43

Do you really believe what you post?

Yes - I like to stick to the facts.

Hereinthesticks · 09/09/2020 11:43

They are trying to quash freedom of speech with misleading journalism and misleading facts and statistics.

Hereinthesticks · 09/09/2020 11:45

We are all entitled to our opinion and many do support this government. which I support in a democracy, but deliberately misleading people is not on and not fair and not even accurate.

ItWasTheBestOfTimes · 09/09/2020 11:47

What has membership got to do with it? Surely you can be both a member of a political party and also be able to recognise/admit that the party you are a member of hasn’t handled something well?

Clavinova · 09/09/2020 11:47

It's tedious isn't it. I wouldn't mind but the articles posted do not compare like with like. E.g. if you criticise UK testing, they will post a few paragraphs from an article about how France is 'failing' in its target to test 1 million people a day.

One million tests a week, not one million tests a day;

I answered;
"I really don't think the rest of Europe or other civilised countries have to get up at 5am or else all the tests are gone." with;

31 August;
"Queue waiting times of five hours for Covid-19 tests were reported in Paris this weekend."

"Waiting times of up to five hours were reported among “walk-ins”, but even those who try to book a test online may also need to wait 10 days or even two weeks before the earliest available appointment."

www.connexionfrance.com/French-news/Five-hour-wait-for-Covid-tests-as-France-targets-1m-tests-nationwide-per-week

Hereinthesticks · 09/09/2020 11:49

Not creepy or intimidating at all that you have records on this stuff. I do believe it is your job.

GetOffYourHighHorse · 09/09/2020 11:50

'Do you get paid to defend the government on here Clavinova? I ask because the only time I ever see you post is to copy and paste articles defending the government.

Ah yes, links. The inconvenient evidence and facts. It's more than 3 words though so many can't follow.

jasjas1973 · 09/09/2020 11:50

What you always do Clav is try and divert.... no one gives a shit what other countries do or don't do or for that matter, Starmers take on things, he cannot determine what the Govt does..... all we are concerned with is our Govt's performance.

So with testing they have ramped up capacity but missed out resourcing the labs and staff required to carry out the tests in a timely manner.
We now have the situation where some ill people cannot get tested, is this deliberate?
Hancock saying people without symptoms clogging up the system! how would he know? you can't get a test unless you say you are poorly (or essential worker)

This from the guy who promised a new law so Pharmacists and Nurses could give vaccinations!

Perhaps even you have to admit this is border line incompetence?

Winederlust · 09/09/2020 11:51

Absolute fucking shitshow (is that 3 or 4 words?!)

TeddyIsaHe · 09/09/2020 11:54

@Clavinova how’s the eyesight getting on? All sorted now I hope Smile
