Anxiously waiting for a important call...

Had an interview Wednesday for my dream job, was told i would get a call today telling me if i was successful. What time do you think they will call before? The wait is killing me... i thought they would call first thing and put us out our misery. Was 7 people interviewed for the role. Do you think they would call the successful or unsuccessful candidates first?

When I’ve been hiring we’ve always called the successful candidate first (although that doesn’t always mean early as we had to get sign off etc.)

That was me 😂 a friend was once in a similar situation waiting for a call and I said they call at xxx time and they actually did 😂

You are all making me laugh! Think guesses of a time was what i was looking for! Going down to a friends at 2pm for coffee so that should take my mind off it. I really think she will call before 3pm...

They'll call as soon as you go to the loo. Or you're travelling to your friends, or just as you sit down to drink your coffee. I find the wait horrible, I'd rather not know and them just call whenever!

The last job I got, the boss forgot to call me on the day they had promised they would. I got a panicked call after 6pm when they were on their train home! Very long day for you, but don't right it off yet! Good luck

Will let you guys know the outcome and time of call lol! Its so frustrating that i have her number and she obviously knows by now... dying to call her and say 'put me out of my miseryyy!!' 🙈 of course i wont... i will sit here an anxious mess until they call me!

I've had situations where unfortunately it's taken longer than expected to confirm a decision (for a whole host of reasons), so definitely leave it and let them come to you.

Go and do something to distract yourself. Take your phone obvs. But don't scramble to answer it, because you will surely cut them off by mistake. Prepare your 'oh okay I am sorry to hear that, do contact me if you have an opportunity in the future' speech. Hope for the best but prepare for the worst.

Ah it is so frustrating waiting to hear! The last time I was waiting for the phone call for my dream job I spent all day in bed watching Netflix and feeling very sorry for myself as I didn’t want to get my hopes up. I honestly felt quite ill by the end of the day. Sounds so ridiculous but it really was THE job. They called late afternoon and offered me the job. Stay strong and good luck!
