Ms Krug, a Jewish woman form Kansa purported to be a Black woman and was a Professor of AfricanAmerica Hostory at George Washington University . Teaching classes and supervision grad and undergrad students in African American History

She was also an activist who posted and participated in rallies and events as Jessica La Bombalera. Demonstrating against the gentrification of East Harlem, proclaiming it to be her neighbourhood

Essentially she has gaslight, lied and assumed an identity that is not hers. In doing so,other candidates were denied opportunities, remuneration. She has assumed an identity and heritage that was not hers to assume

Exposed by a student who had the courage to confide in other teaching staff

OP posts:

This is from her neighbour. ‘Gentrifying’ the neighbourhood by going for a jog.

I’ve thought for a long time we need to bring back Draft. Obv the likes of Jessica would only be issued with a water gun. 💦 🔫

What makes you think she has mental health issues? Her self identification as having them?

nettie434 · 05/09/2020 09:32

One nuance in the debate about whether trans/ethnicity self identity are comparable is that while some trans women have applied for jobs/roles reserved for women, so far as I know, no trans person has ever deliberately concealed their background. That is what makes it different for me. Jessica Krug and Rachel Dolezal applied for jobs and grants that had been reserved for people of African American or Latino/Latina backgrounds. Anthony Ekundayo Lennon has also adopted a name that would lead people to assume he had an African heritage. An added complexity is that he says he experienced racism from childhood because people thought he was of mixed heritage because of his appearance.

I didn't think you were being antisemitic Sentientandcognisant but then I had read Jessica Krug's Medium article and knew that it was a direct quote.

I can't remember who suggested upthread that Corbyn can't have been educated privately. He went to a prep school and then a grammar school (presumably state maintained in his day). He's presumably not responsible for where he went to school but he definitely can't blame his A level results on a lack of educational opportunities Grin

OneEpisode · 05/09/2020 09:50

Corbyn attended Castle House School, an independent preparatory school, so a fee paying school. This prepared students for the entrance exams. In Jeremy’s case, a grammar school.

We have extensive legislation in the UK to avoid outing transgender people. The legislation does say that rape crisis centres specialising in females can avoid hiring Male bodied people, and at least one trans person has lied about being a transwoman to gain employment that was legally ringfenced for non-trans women.

Grannyspecsandslippers · 05/09/2020 09:57

‘What makes you think she has mental health issues?‘

The fact that she was living a life where she had to lie to everyone around her all the time and cut herself off from her family and old life to protect the lie seemed to me to be a pretty word thing to do and not normal, but o supposed rather than having MH issues she could just be incredibly
Manipulative and calculating and thought that was the best way to get ahead in her field.

NotBadConsidering · 05/09/2020 10:00

“Manipulative and calculating” does not equal mental health issues.

Grannyspecsandslippers are you going to explain why you think transracial is different to transgender like people have asked, are you going to continue to ignore, or are you brave enough to admit the question can’t be answered without betraying logic?

Grannyspecsandslippers · 05/09/2020 10:03

“Manipulative and calculating” does not equal mental health issues. ‘

I didn’t say it did! Insaid I assume she was crackers but if she wasn’t then just manipulative etc
I’m not defending her, I think she’s appalling.

Alabamawhirly1 · 05/09/2020 10:06

This is the 4th trans-race person to be outed I know of. I bet there are loads living amount us and we don't even realise.

It's interesting that two of the trans-race people had careers centered around black history and rights.

SoManyActivities · 05/09/2020 10:07

I’m not defending her, I think she’s appalling.

But a man playing on a women's rugby team because he 'feels like a woman' is A-OK? Or a male rapist being put in a women's jail because he 'feels like a woman'? Or taking a place on an all women's shortlist, or an award meant to increase representation for women?

Could you explain your thought process behind this please? You ignored my last question.

Mridul Wadhwa is the subject of Trans AND: Mridul | Transgender Stories. This is on YouTube in the My Genderation channel (Fox & Owl). Mridul works in an area of Scotland where Mridul’s “50% Hindu 50% Zoroastrian” ethnicity will be very rare, and that would probably make it easier for Mridul to pass as non-trans. She is clear in the video she didn’t disclose.
Within our own ethnicity our sex recognition probably works better.

Fair enough Grannyspecsandslippers I misread that.

So why is this potentially manipulative and miscalculating, but why is Pips Bunce being a woman just on certain days of the week and being given a women in business award completely fine?

I’ve noticed on some forms recently, “do you IDENTIFY as disabled?” (My emphasis).

I’m a disability rights activist.

“Identify as disabled” has nothing to do with the concept of self-ID or with identity politics. It’s an old term created by the disabled community to acknowledge that not everyone with a serious impairment considers that they are disabled by it.

I want to be clear: you have to have a serious physical impairment, MH condition, chronic illness or ASD to be able to “identify as disabled.” Able-bodied people are not allowed to “identify as disabled.” That is not what the terminology means at all.

The wording was developed to acknowledge that not every person who meets the legal criteria for being disabled considers that they are un-able or dis-abled by their condition. For example many members of the d/Deaf community reject the idea that being d/Deaf is a disability. Some people with ASD do the same. There is currently a big debate within the CI community over our inclusion within the broader disabled community; some CI people feel excluded by the SMoD, while other CI people feel empowered by identifying as disabled rather than chronically ill.

Disability is a protected class with very specific legal parameters - you cannot “identify as disabled” if you are able-bodied.

I realise non-disabled people find this confusing or have a knee-jerk reaction to the word “identify” but this issue has come up on MN a few times in the past and people have made horrific and very bigoted anti-disabled comments in an attempt to use disabled people’s right to use their label or choice as part of the trans war, which is unfair.

Grannyspecsandslippers · 05/09/2020 10:23

Who are the other 2?

Grannyspecsandslippers · 05/09/2020 10:25

do you IDENTIFY as disabled?” ‘

Yup, my BIL who has a life changing disability would never call himself disabled or tick this box on a form. He’s intensely private and doesn’t want people knowing this about him.

rainwaterflow · 05/09/2020 10:25

There have been loads of Instagrammers who have been outed for blackfishing or lying about being black, though that’s not quite the same thing as claiming you feel black on the inside.

Alabamawhirly1 · 05/09/2020 10:28

Who are the other 2?

Actually I think 5.

Theres Rachel, this one, an Irish guy that took a art program place for black artists, a guy that pretends he's Mexican in America and that woman with the massive boobs they have on This Morning all the time.

SoManyActivities · 05/09/2020 10:29

@Grannyspecsandslippers you appear to be ignoring some key questions on this thread.

NotBadConsidering · 05/09/2020 10:37

And the white trans woman who identifies as Filipino, linked above. The male identifying as female bit is fine, but not the Filipino bit Hmm.

Come on Grannyspecsandslippers have a bit of integrity. Explain how it’s different or admit you can’t.

Grannyspecsandslippers · 05/09/2020 10:46

that woman with the massive boobs they have on This Morning all the time.‘

What???

SerenityNowwwww · 05/09/2020 10:49

Martina Biggs?

monkeyonthetable · 05/09/2020 10:55

It's baffling how anyone could have believed her. She's white. Was that not a clue? Just as a bloke in a dress doesn't pass as female, a white woman doesn't pass as black.

rainwaterflow · 05/09/2020 11:01

Martina Big is such a strange, strange case. She refers to herself as having been born a white woman and that she became black, so she’s not hiding her real identity, but she’s gone to so much effort to physically look black. I can’t imagine what mental health issues are at play there.

SerenityNowwwww · 05/09/2020 11:15

She was adamant that she and her white husband were having a black baby. She was pregnant a while back but I’ve not seen any news of a birth (hope she’s ok).

Alabamawhirly1 · 05/09/2020 11:16

I didn't even think about all the intragrammers. You're right there have been loads of white women presenting as black and Latino on Insta.

that woman with the massive boobs they have on This Morning all the time.‘

What???

I can't remember her name. She's been on as a guest a few times about her weird attention seeking life. She was on to talk about tanning injections and then came back on saying after the tan injections people started reading her as black and now she's moving to Africa to learn the culture so she can transition to black.
