id like to think that when i come on here for a quick chat im talking to other women. ive noticed some men on here and thats actually putting me off. some of the topics we talk about are very intimate. i cant understand why men would want to come on this website, maybe the name should be changed to parentnet. aibu.

(and sounds like Bobsdad & Bobsmum are getting a sh*g out of it, so perhaps not a wasted thread after all!)

xXxamyxXx · 06/10/2007 23:29

lilolilmanchester · 06/10/2007 23:30

(closely followed by Pretty Bird and DH1 if "my DW....ach she's no that bad, I'll stick with her for a wee while longer" works for her!!!)

xXxamyxXx · 06/10/2007 23:37

good woman

prettybird · 06/10/2007 23:38

540+ posts in a day though. Interesting discussion. A pretty unanimous consensus though - that Mumsnet is and should remain a place where men are welcome and their contribtions are welcome.

lilolilmanchester · 06/10/2007 23:40

getting serious for a minute... 2hot2cook, do you feel any better after all of this? Honestly, if after reading all of this you still feel unhappy, open another thread, and we can revisit the subject again. But TBH, as has already been said, I think men naturally keep away from the intimate discussions you are talking about, the fellas on here seem to be really ace guys, not saddo perverts cruising on intimate posts - and if they were, they'd change to female nicknames anyway.....

dh1 · 06/10/2007 23:50

Oh well, IF YOU INSIST.....

prettybird · 06/10/2007 23:51

................................

lilolilmanchester · 07/10/2007 00:01

GET ON WITH IT YOU TWO (DH1 and PB). YOU KNOW YOU WANT TO......

xXxamyxXx · 07/10/2007 00:06

lucky them!

tizzwhizz · 07/10/2007 07:00

OOh Bobsmum - the future - do you really think thats possible?, I like the idea makes me feel less brain dead. Look out for me on the next series of heroes. I will be the one alongside Hiro desperately trying to remember my own name.

Congratulations to you too.

2hot2cook · 07/10/2007 12:49

lilolilmanchester; thank you for asking if id learnt anything from this thread.

can i just say im sorry if i upset/offended you and the other men on here. that was never my intention, im also sorry if i made some mums on here with me.
just have different views, no harm intended.

have i learnt anything?

yes, the women on here would rather talk to you than me.

Lulumama · 07/10/2007 12:51

scuse me, i asked a couple of times if you had learnt anything, or maybe felt you could change your opinion! plenty of people spoke to you on here.. just becasue they didn;t agree with you..

it was an interesting debate, not least beacuse it was so unanimous.

are you going to stick around? there is a lot to this site

MyTwopenceworth · 07/10/2007 12:53

I think this has been a really REALLY good thread.

Do you know why?

Because it has let the men who do come on mumsnet know that they are wanted, welcomed and valued. Sometimes they get a roasting but this shows that we DO want them here and that we like them and value their parental contribution.

So thank you 2hot. It may not have been the thread you intended, but it was the thread this place needed.

And I hope you stick around too.
