How to make money from home ASAP

AppleCinnamonSlice · 01/09/2020 22:36

Sorry not an aibu, posting for traffic.

I’m in a very bad financial situation and need to pull myself out of it as soon as possible. Can anyone give me some realistic ideas/links for how I can make money working from home during school hours ?

I can only work from home during the day because of my current situation. Any suggestions or links welcome please.

A lot of call centres are still home working and many look for people. They tend to be fairly flexible with shift patterns.

Cheeringmeup · 01/09/2020 22:40

What are your skills, talents, abilities? Lots of work can be done from home, but it all depends on your skill set really.

AppleCinnamonSlice · 01/09/2020 22:42

Thanks Caplin, I never thought of remote call centre work, will start looking.

It sounds like you both need to make money and potentially use money saving techniques too. Echo the past posters about skill set.

Thanks for replying. I can do administration, payroll, and basic book keeping. I am also good at providing customer service.

Does anyone have any experience with the Virtual Call Centre Network?

Go to the money section of mumsnet and check out the £10 a day threads - there are a lot of them. I cannot remember exactly which section they are in.

If you are in debt then try contacting an organisation like step-change who can help you sort out repayment terms etc.

Try Rev. You transcribe audio for business persons, academics etc. If you are in the USA, you have to do a minimum amount per month to stay on their "payroll". Its paid per job. And you can do it when you are free.

The other thing is to check out Air Tasker for small jobs you can pick up here and there. If your car is new-ish, you could try uber driving.

AppleCinnamonSlice · 02/09/2020 07:02

Nic1701

What do you sell?

Does it have to be in your home? You can make good money cleaning. My cleaner only does term time, school hours and is always pretty fully booked.

MyOwnSummer · 02/09/2020 07:12

Be careful to avoid MLMs - multi level marketing schemes. Essentially pyramid schemes but legal as there is a product to sell. Over 90% of people make nothing or even lose money. If a selling business has an "upline" who gets a cut of your profits, its mlm and best avoided.

Younique, herbalife, young living, beach body, even household names like bodyshop and avon have mlm schemes.

Breastfeedingworries · 02/09/2020 07:12

Marking my place as I need ideas also. Flowers

Estrellente · 02/09/2020 07:14

Don’t do an MLM!!

Honestly there’s never been a better time to work from home. Call centres, councils, track and trace etc all recruiting for home based positions at the moment and you’re so much better off having a proper steady income.

Histrionicz · 02/09/2020 07:16

@Nic1701 hmm. What does your business sell?

Vodkacranberryplease · 02/09/2020 07:24

I'm guessing Nic is probably a bit of a spammer. 'I make 10k a month working from home' sort of thknv

EmmaGrundyForPM · 02/09/2020 07:25

I'm guessing MLM. In which case, steer clear

UnfinishedSymphon · 02/09/2020 07:33

Have you got anything to sell in the short term? Last month I sold shoes, a couple of bags, a piece of unused furniture and some clothes - made £300

lovelemoncurd · 02/09/2020 07:40

I match bet and made £1066 extra last month. You can probably make £15k a year if you have the time.

tashac89 · 02/09/2020 07:41

Look for ways to save money too. Shop around for changing utilities and service providers, if you find cheaper sign up through topcashback to make a bit extra. Also, checkoutsmart. It is an app you get small amounts of cashback on groceries. Its pence here and there, but adds up. Check through your bank for subscriptions you may have forgotten about, loads of people sign up to things on an offer and forget to cancel.

DappledOliveGroves · 02/09/2020 07:44

Another vote for matches betting. Great fun as a hobby and free money. Have a look at OddsMonkey and Team Profit.

AppleCinnamonSlice · 02/09/2020 07:56

Brilliant ideas here, thank you all!

Need to avoid betting, unfortunately it was starting matched betting and then my own foolishness/greed that got me in this mess.
