I've had mine ofr a year (I think) jajas. And it's still going strong! They're made of silicone, so I guess they could last for years, really...

expatinscotland · 06/10/2007 22:02

About 5 years, lilo.

Skerry, are you for real?

The blood comes out with a mooncup, you know.

Pads are awful for the environment.

Yuck.

Rachmumoftwo · 06/10/2007 22:02

I would like to know more about mooncups and if they would suit me- where do I get this information? Thanks x.

expatinscotland · 06/10/2007 22:02

Franny the Druid can get them dead cheap .

fangsandflash · 06/10/2007 22:03

No - just no where to go, 2 kids and a leaky mooncup!

expat - pleas please tell me you did not cut it when you had it in?

fangsandflash · 06/10/2007 22:03

skerry - the blood i sin the cup rather than mingin next to your fanjo

Snaf · 06/10/2007 22:04

Actually, scratch that. It's been well over a year.

Kerrymum, I don't get your logic. Pads aren't exactly hygienic, are they? And tampons even worse from that p.o.v.

FrannytheDruid · 06/10/2007 22:05

Yes it just sits in the cup, kerry

it comes out of your uterus and sits in the cup, near the bottom of your vagina

it isn't stuck inside you

Rach try their website or ask on here?

expatinscotland · 06/10/2007 22:05

Um, no, fang. I would not shove a pair of scissors up my flange and the last time anything sharp when near it, it was a consultant holding a scalpel about to give me a forceps delivery.

I mean, cut it off carefully as in try not to wind up with a £20 funnel .

Cringe at the thought of towels.

Boak.

Smelly, like a big nappy, unhygenic and foosting away in a landfill.

Uggggh.

FrannytheDruid · 06/10/2007 22:06

I am not doing an order at the moment but I might do one next month

watch this space

well, not this space

some other space, near this space

expatinscotland · 06/10/2007 22:07

It's not 'clogged up', kerry, it's in a cup which you empty out every now and again.

fangsandflash · 06/10/2007 22:07

phew! Just when you said be careful cutting the stem ...

Do the organic ones go into landfull?

AitchyBabesHugz2AllUHunnis · 06/10/2007 22:08

i really do love mine, actually. it's weird, right, but i now look forward to my period as i know it will clear out those PMT cobwebs, whereas i used to see it all as part of the same dreadful, painful experience.

fangsandflash · 06/10/2007 22:09

The cup touches your vagina - the blood is in the cup - doesn't touch anything but I suppose if you did a handstand it could empty out.

AitchyBabesHugz2AllUHunnis · 06/10/2007 22:10

i despair of some people's knowledge of their own bodies... if men had period we'd have passed o levels in this stuff.
unless you are lying down, kerry, the blood is in a cup. a mooncup. we've been discussing this for the whole thread.

It's in your vagina, not butted up against your cervix.
