A local family have just returned from Spain- pictures all over Facebook- but they aren’t following GOV requirements to quarantine are blatantly out and about, mixing in large groups etc ... AIBU to report them??

Yes I would report, even though I'd feel like a busybody I definitely would. They are being very selfish and have no regard for the rules and the safety of other people.

TheCanyon · 28/08/2020 23:56

I would too. I'm very much a fuck it and live life sort but no...

Sunnysunnyevening · 28/08/2020 23:58

Yanbu to report. They will end up spreading it if they have it

AlwaysLatte · 29/08/2020 00:11

I would report - very selfish behaviour.

MumW · 29/08/2020 00:17

Please report, that kind of selfish behaviour is how local lockdowns come about.

Anniemabel · 29/08/2020 00:24

Yes, report it. You would report an assault or a theft. This is the same - they’re breaking a law that is in place to protect people from catching and or spreading a virus that could kill / harm / or make someone else lose money from being off sick. It’s a no brainer.

PastMyBestBeforeDate · 29/08/2020 00:26

Who do you report them to?

Notcontent · 29/08/2020 00:33

Yes, I would. Not only are they breaking the law but they are making a mockery of all the people who are doing the right thing and all the people who have cancelled holidays because they can’t go into quarantine for two weeks.

Sunnysunnyevening · 29/08/2020 00:33

...the police

LizB62A · 29/08/2020 00:35

Who do you report them to?
That's what I was going to ask - do you report to the police? PHE?

Sunnysunnyevening · 29/08/2020 00:41

Yes, the police- as far as I can make out, they can now fine people?

BlackBucketOfCheese · 29/08/2020 00:43

Are they vloggers?

BlackBucketOfCheese · 29/08/2020 00:45

Sorry, I ask about vloggers because I’m aware a vlogging family have done similar.

ILovesPeanuts · 29/08/2020 00:53

Yes report. I know 2 separate people back from Spain, both adamant quarantine was unnecessary and both had tests to hope to end quarantine early. They both tested positive but zero symptoms in both cases.

BitOfFun · 29/08/2020 01:19

Why don't you suggest they take a test before going all medieval?

bingbong1970 · 29/08/2020 02:39

What a bunch of old farts there is on here

Torvean32 · 29/08/2020 02:43

Taking a test is irrelevant. Its 14 days quarantine. Ppl who say dont tell wouldnt be so happy if those ppl start the spread that ends you up in lockdown.

Californiastreaming · 29/08/2020 02:52

Well there not the only ones, a high profile girl group member was partying last weekend despite being in Ibiza the week before!

TheVamoosh · 29/08/2020 04:04

Why don't you suggest they take a test before going all medieval?

Yes, that'll go down well. I'm sure they'll go and get tested just because the OP suggested it and then come and show her the results afterwards!

Topseyt · 29/08/2020 04:25

I wouldn't bother. But then, I don't pay attention to when, where and if my neighbours have been on holiday.

I don't see it as my place to sanctimoniously police others and won't be doing it.

Mummyoflittledragon · 29/08/2020 04:36

I would. Their selfishness could lead to more deaths. It isn’t like turning a blind eye to other things.

Bonnie7 · 29/08/2020 06:53

There’s an online police form that came up when I googled it, really quick to fill in.
My OH filled it in. We just feel that their selfish behaviour makes a mockery of other people’s efforts to do the right thing. We’ve cancelled a holiday, our business has suffered, we’ve been really worried for loved ones at high risk etc.
They visited a local business (large cafe) and mixed with lots of people just days after returning home from Spain.
Maybe they think they are above the rules?

OP posts:
KittyVonCatsworth · 29/08/2020 06:54

Is it possible that they're on the exemption list?

megletthesecond · 29/08/2020 06:56

I probably would.
One of the dc's friends is in France at the moment. If they turn up at school on Thursday I will probably speak up. The parents have form for being knobs and I'm sick of them.

FippertyGibbett · 29/08/2020 07:01

I would ?
