New guidance for schools just announced on a Friday night before schools return. Breathtaking incompetence.

Idontbelieveit12 · 28/08/2020 22:27

What new guidance?

Igotthemheavyboobs · 28/08/2020 22:27

ladygracie · 28/08/2020 22:28

TokyoSushi · 28/08/2020 22:28

Sorry. Got carried away.

OP posts:
LupinsNotLilys · 28/08/2020 22:29

Not a surprise is it really though? Or unrealistic

Pascha · 28/08/2020 22:30

Is it this?

www.bbc.co.uk/news/education-53954642

I expected something like it anyway. They have to have a worst case scenario plan ready.

LolaSkoda · 28/08/2020 22:30

It’s not shocking though is it?! Someone in the bubble is positive, so the whole bubble is isolated.

I thought that was the whole point of social bubbles.

slipperywhensparticus · 28/08/2020 22:30

Worst case semario?

ScammedOrWhat · 28/08/2020 22:31

So they're only going to isolate the class if a child tests positive? Not when the child is symptomatic, or when they report their parents are symptomatic..?

That's going to go well

Pipandmum · 28/08/2020 22:32

Not sure what's different- I thought that was the case anyway? Surely that's the point of bubbles, to limit the need to close the school by just isolating the bubble.

wantmorenow · 28/08/2020 22:33

It's shocking that it's released now. After staff have spent ages carrying out risk assessments, training staff and communicating their plans. This could and should have been formulated and released weeks ago

OP posts:
divafever99 · 28/08/2020 22:33

Nothing surprises me at all anymore!

Morfin · 28/08/2020 22:33

Fucking love you. Just about to post the same. I've been ridiculed, attacked had horrid PM sent to me because I've asked for a plan B. Because I've been worried that this mass opening will lead to school closures. I've been called hysterical and unreasonable and constantly had the 'do you want schools to be shut forever' thrown at me, when all I've ever wanted is a plan that will keep schools open. The plans, the school letters are smoke and mirrors can I possibly believe the govt have seen through their lies?

whirlwindwallaby · 28/08/2020 22:35

A more severe response would be Tier 3, in which most secondary pupils would study from home, and then Tier 4, in which all types of school would switch to studying from home, except for the children of key workers and vulnerable children.
If I am a keyworker, does this mean my secondary school aged child can stay in school regardless?

Iggly · 28/08/2020 22:36

This government is a pile of incompetent arrogant over inflated sense of self type fucking wankers.

wantmorenow · 28/08/2020 22:36

My partner teaches sixth form. A bubble will be all 300 students and staff. I teach in a college and across campuses. Previous guidance suggested two confirmed cases I believe. To be honest I haven't a clue any more. I have no idea what's going on.

OP posts:
SqidgeBum · 28/08/2020 22:37

So if one kid gets confirmed test, the whole 'bubble' goes home. That means the whole year for secondary school.

So what about the teachers that taught that kid. Are they part of the bubble? Because they moved around teaching all years in the school .....

catgirl1976 · 28/08/2020 22:38

I don’t understand how a year group is a bubble when they are the. Mixing at after school and breakfast club

AHippoNamedBooBooButt · 28/08/2020 22:38

YABU to be shocked. Have you been living under a rock for the last 6 months? 😜
But yes, the absolute incompetence to release this pretty much the night before schools go back (seeing as it is Bank Holiday weekend and then we all return on tuesday).
But i am pleased with these, much more sensible, guidance
