Mine know I like my fitness/gym time but don't know just how much of a huge part of my life it is.

They don't know I was bullied out of my previous position.

They don't know that I have been home studying to further my career.

OP posts:
CreepyPasta · 26/08/2020 14:33

That I grew up in care and I’m a recovering alcoholic.

WaitingforToto · 26/08/2020 14:33

It was a five-figure win @SantaClaritaDiet not millions but still a huge amount. I hadn’t worked there for long at the time and was a bit embarrassed about it so didn’t mention it!

legalseagull · 26/08/2020 14:36

@tangycalligrapher

Me too! But the boss, not a colleague. And no wiping down

That's truly vile. You should be ashamed of yourselves.

Oh give over it's not vile. If they left no trace what's vile about it? No one saw or knows. How's it any different to having sex anywhere where someone else will later be - like a hotel room? You only live once. Make amazing memories

Why is it vile?

They had sex and they didn't wipe down the surfaces afterwards and that's vile.

like a hotel room?

Hotel sheets are washed between guests.

You only live once. Make amazing memories

I do. That doesn't involve being unhygienic, selfish and inconsiderate and generally vile to others. Clearly my standards are much higher than yours.

user679021 · 26/08/2020 14:50

That I'm currently fighting cancer 😢

tangycalligrapher · 26/08/2020 14:52

@user1493201810

Why is it vile?

Would like to go into a meeting and sit at a table with other people's bodily fluids on it? I prefer my meetings to be in rooms without semen and vaginal discharge on the table but hey-ho, we all have different ideas of what is acceptable.

I said we didn't wipe down, not that there were bodily fluids everywhere. The whole premises are cleaned every evening and not everyone leaks bodily fluids freely Hmm

enyemaka · 26/08/2020 15:11

Hope you're doing ok @user679021.

That I am about to resign due to poor line management, which, despite it being flagged up and known about by almost everyone (for years) has not been addressed, because said LM is very useful to her LM as she volunteers for everything going.

This sounds exactly like my LM. Urgh. I can't wait to quit.

Couchbettato · 26/08/2020 15:11

That I'm gender critical.

Florial · 26/08/2020 15:14

That my husband is an alcoholic and I never can be sure what I'm going home to.

notalwaysalondoner · 26/08/2020 15:22

That I am stressed nearly all the time. I always get the feedback that I’m so calm and collected during stressful periods - but inside I’m screaming!

That I had a miscarriage in June.

That I’m really not ambitious and mainly want to have babies and live in the countryside and have horses. I’ve somehow ended up in a top tier intense management consultancy job in London when I kind of want to be a country housewife...

sonjadog · 26/08/2020 15:36

That my native language is not English.

That I had a ONS with the janitor in the building on the work trip some years ago.

KrabbyPatties · 26/08/2020 15:42

@Florial

That my husband is an alcoholic and I never can be sure what I'm going home to.
I had the same problem although I found it helped having the mental space of work...they had no idea of the chaos I was dealing with

I hope things get better for you

(They did for me in the end)

Angeldust747 · 26/08/2020 16:18

Loads, we've worked together for up to 9 years and are friends as well as colleagues 🤷‍♀️

IfIHadAHeart · 26/08/2020 16:38

Sex isn’t really vile now is it Hmm

I’m in the “you only live once” camp. It was fun, and impacted literally no one else. I think it happens in more workplaces than you would like to think!

OhWhatFuckeryIsThisNow · 26/08/2020 16:44

Oh god yes, that goes without saying. All the young teachers fall over themselves to be woke and inclusive. I learnt my lesson, I keep 🤐
LandedInMyLap · 26/08/2020 16:48

They don’t know my politics, or that I’m a radical feminist.

They don’t know I’m a recovering alcoholic and in AA.

They have no idea what a wild child I was before I became the ‘naice’, professional, middle aged mum they see before them. I say very little when talk of sex or drugs occasionally crops up Wink

So sorry to hear about the incredibly difficult things so many of you are dealing with. My colleagues (there are only four of us in the team) know pretty much everything about me - I’m very much myself at work and would find it very lonely otherwise.

BlueJava · 26/08/2020 17:27

They don't know I used to be a lorry driver. I now earn 6 figs in the City. I would never tell them, not even my best work friend!

PhilCornwall1 · 26/08/2020 17:29

I've worked with most of them for coming up 10 years and they know very little about me.

They are colleagues and will never be friends.

ViciousJackdaw · 26/08/2020 17:29

Now come on, you know full well that intercourse is only for the purposes of conception. Decent people don't do it for fun.

Thankfully, I am not a decent person and can be thrown onto the vile pile with the other boardroom offenders. We also did it on the bosses desk, purely because we hated her.

starfishmummy · 26/08/2020 17:32

Hotel sheets are washed between guests.

Why are you assuming that all hotel guests who have sex, have it on (?in?) the bedsheets!!
