I'm just looking at finances because my husband has left and we are trying to save money.
I've checked the account. He's spending at least £110 a month on vaping.
Is this a lot? Or is it what it costs?
It seems a massive waste of money to me.
He's not even using it to stop smoking. He just started vaping.

That's mental. I smoke and it costs a fortune. I gave up and vaped for 6 months and saved loads. A £5 bottle of vape juice would last me a week!

Igotthemheavyboobs · 25/08/2020 15:12

That's more than I spent when I smoked!

edwinbear · 25/08/2020 15:12

That seems a lot, the pods I buy are £6 for 2, one pod lasts me 3-4 days, so costs me c.£30 a month.

Ffsnosexallowed · 25/08/2020 15:14

Once you have your tank and battery (around £50 for a decent one) I pay £1 for 10ml of liquid (so £5 max per week) and a new coil (£2) every 10 days or so.

LandedInMyLap · 25/08/2020 15:14

That’s a lot per month.

I vape to keep from smoking. I’m ashamed to say I was spending upwards of £50 a week when I smoked (shocking really!), but with vaping once I paid for the kit (mine was £40) it costs me about £20 a month for liquids.

ScottishStottie · 25/08/2020 15:17

DP vapes and i think his pipe cost around £40, then every month or slightly longer we order 6 oils for £24. Maybe every 3-4 months we get a box of coils so another £10.

£110 is ridiculous, whats he actually buying?? Is it just oils?

Cockadoodle27 · 25/08/2020 15:18

What on earth is he buying? Me and DH both vape, and spend 35 a month (between us) on subscription juice bottles, and they're the good ones. Occasionally an extra tenner on a pack of coils but that's only every three months-ish.

Glitteryone · 25/08/2020 15:24

I don’t vape but my mum does. It apparently only costs her £5 per month....

Are you sure that the £110 is for vaping. Could it be a cover for something else? Check the companies website to see what else they do

QueenPaws · 25/08/2020 15:29

What is he buying? Liquid and coils or shiny new vape kit?
I only buy coils and liquid and it's nowhere near that

joeysapple · 25/08/2020 15:29

Where are all of you getting your juice from? I get mine from the Co-app and it's £4 a 10ml pop which last me 2 days.

QueenPaws · 25/08/2020 15:32

I use triphammer and a discount code
Or dr frost

Feathered · 25/08/2020 15:33

What else could he be buying from a vape shop?

OP posts:
JadesRollerDisco · 25/08/2020 15:35

Used to cost me £1 a week on liquid, compared to £8 a day on 20 cigarettes.

JadesRollerDisco · 25/08/2020 15:36

CBD?

DullDullWeather · 25/08/2020 15:36

Blimey
That is a lot per month OP

I don't spend anywhere near that per month and my start up vape kit, with a free bottle of Ohm Brew large, was £35 all in . Most I have spent in the vape shop

Jussayingisall · 25/08/2020 15:37

Unless it's pretty clear it's vaping then he is taking you for a ride. I vape heavily and I would say it costs me £20 a month tops

Feathered · 25/08/2020 15:42

I think there have been some months when he's spent more than that.
He is also spending considerably more than I do on food bills and I'have three teenagers.

DullDullWeather · 25/08/2020 15:43

To be frank, he is taking the piss now I read your updated post

MushyMushi · 25/08/2020 15:45

I was a very very heavy vaper. Used it all day basically. Was terrible with it Blush

It cost me £30 a month including coils and liquids.

£110 makes no sense at all

Feathered · 25/08/2020 15:47

Okay. You are being VERY helpful.
So . . .
The website is Hyde vapes in London.
It doesn't sell cbd as fas as I can tell.

TinkersTailor · 25/08/2020 15:49

That's a huge amount!

I vape, I buy 2 juices a week (£3.99 each) and a pack of coils every other month or so (£12)

That's it and I'm a heavy user (it's never far from my mouth!)

I only use mine for smoking cessation though. I'm not bothered with fancy devices, huge smoke clouds or mad flavours.

My vape was the most expensive thing (£40) but I've had it for nearly a year now with no problems.

InDeoEstMeaFiducia · 25/08/2020 15:49

No way. I know people who used to smoke 40 a day who vape equivalently. 30 quid a month at the most.

QueenPaws · 25/08/2020 15:49

Does he vape a lot? Do you see him refilling it constantly or using different kits?
It's either he's using a lot of ££ premium liquid or buying new kit

TinkersTailor · 25/08/2020 15:52

Forgot to add;
I got my vape from Totally Wicked. Used to get the juices from there but I moved away from the shop and I was having to order every week.

I get the juices from Asda cigarette counter( Blu Blueberry flavour, the strongest strength)

Feathered · 25/08/2020 15:52

Just looked at April bank statement as a random one -
£136 on vaping.
