After being ‘told off’ in front of a group to leave group after

Group activity. I OK’d it with assistant group lead to basically go to the loo. I inadvertently caused a 5 minute delay in the group activity. It’s a social group. When I returned, I was told off by the group lead in front of the whole group.

When told off, I agreed not to do this again. I felt awful.

I’d really like the activity and if I left there is no alternative locally.

How do I get past the humiliation of being told off. WWYD?

Perhaps this group lead is too hard core for me? Perhaps the lead was acting in response to complaints from the group?

Why didn't the assistant leader pipe up that she'd oked it?

Am dram? Some directors totally lose the plot with the power trip.

Ego states. The leader communicated from their Parent ego stage, and you responded from your Child. Not unreasonable really - being reprimanded in front of others, toilet-related, being shamed etc.

Typo does not mean what you appear to think it means. "Played" may be an autocorrect or an error on your part if you were distracted, but neither is a typo.

Moranne, if you’re a fan of the precise and correct, you didn’t need the word ‘now’ with the word ‘currently’

Played for okayed is virtually the definition of a typo. If you are touch typing on a keyboard, the left hand has typed its letters correctly and the right hand has been placed incorrectly and typed the letters one column to the left.

@Moranne the "o" is next to the "p", and the "k" is next to the "l". That was almost certainly two actual, real typos, or possibly one typo and one subsequent autocorrect.

Is it your parent ego or your child ego that is preventing you from admitting you were wrong, or apologising for derailing the thread?

It doesn't matter. Autism or not you still need to develop a filter and just let some things go. Start with the little things and work your way up.
