Husband doesn't spread to the edges

Just that.

Plops stuff on toast in a sort of blob then smudges it a bit. What sort of insane person doesn't spread to the edges.

AIBU? I think not!

:-) LTB

Jalapinot · 22/08/2020 20:24

You don't need this kind of negativity in your life. LTB.

menofharlech · 22/08/2020 20:24

He's right and you are so so wrong.

I am happy to swap

Brokensunrise · 22/08/2020 20:24

Leave him. Or put him under the patio. This is why I butter my own toast....

CarlottaValdez · 22/08/2020 20:25

My DH does this too! I’m fact DS will now not allow him to make his toast if I’m anywhere in the building.

WhyNotMe40 · 22/08/2020 20:26

Ltb. There's no hope for such a twisted monster....

GnomeDePlume · 22/08/2020 20:26

He would be a dab hand in a sandwich making factory

Somethingsnappy · 22/08/2020 20:27

Shock Whaaaat? My dad took my husband aside on our wedding day and said, 'you do know she likes her toast buttered right to the edges, don't you?'...!

Dandeliondrops · 22/08/2020 20:27

You end up with mouthfuls of dry toast or bread from a bulky unspread sandwich.

Same with dusting. Dabs middle of a surface and leaves edges alone.

GO TO THE EDGE FFS!!!!

isabellerossignol · 22/08/2020 20:27

That's so very wrong. Buttery toast is a thing of beauty and dry bits are an abomination.

CrunchyNutNC · 22/08/2020 20:29

Mine likes it to be cold before guttering Sad

Bubbletrouble43 · 22/08/2020 20:29

Have my first LTB

fatgirlslimmer · 22/08/2020 20:29

Top tip if you start buttering from the edges the middle sort of takes care of itself.

Bourbonbiccy · 22/08/2020 20:39

Must push topping out to the edges.....arrrrrrr ...I hate blobbers, spread it properly to the corners and sides !!!

FigDate · 22/08/2020 20:46

What are you getting from this relationship now? What did you both learn about buttering toast growing up?

BluebellsareBlue · 22/08/2020 20:57

Look, I'm not one to judge... but come on!! What is he bringing to your life? The sex better be fantastic!

DinoTeam · 22/08/2020 21:04

You’re all unreasonable for eating butter Envy (not envy!). I always butter other people’s toast to the edge though ...

TroysMammy · 22/08/2020 21:12

I don't spread to the edges because I don't like crusts. No point in wasting spread on something I'm not going to eat.

drumandthebass · 22/08/2020 21:15

I bet he doesn't cut it in half either???

AintNobodyHereButUsChickens · 22/08/2020 21:17

I won't let my husband butter any of my bread now. If I have 2 slices of bread he'll only butter 1 slice, or one half of a bread bun etc. And it's not really buttering either, it's a sort of... halfhearted smear across the middle Confused

FippertyGibbett · 22/08/2020 21:28

That’s a reason for divorce in my house 😉

Malaya · 22/08/2020 21:34

My husband is worse. When he makes a sandwich, like peanut butter or Nutella or something, he only spreads on one slice of bread and then puts a plain piece on top. Not spread on both sides and put together so you get double the filling. Drives me nuts

IHaveBrilloHair · 22/08/2020 21:37

I hate that, the whatever spread needs to go to the edges.

GeistohneGrenzen · 22/08/2020 21:39

Is he a descendant of Just William's mother? I remember that lady didn't spread to the edges either and William infinitely preferred their cook, who did...

roundandsideways · 22/08/2020 21:52

You need to tell him about all your exes who spread to the edges. Is he selfish in other ways?
