Every wall covered in Kate Forman fabric (apart from the expense at £90 a metre)?

@Vivi0
Thanks for link 👍

Pumpkinsarepurple · 21/08/2020 16:47

It's not to my taste, reminds of the Strawberry Shortcake style of decorating from the 80's.

I think PP who described as a dolls house are spot on and as for the shower that takes me straight back to the outside toilet I had to endure on the back yard as a child Shock

Magicbabywaves · 21/08/2020 16:50

I really like the wallpaper.

PussGirl · 21/08/2020 16:51

I don't like patterned walls at all. They make pictures look weird, IMO

BrassyLocks · 21/08/2020 16:52

That bathroom resembles a torture chamber Shock

FlamingoAndJohn · 21/08/2020 16:53

@Darcysshirt

You coudl hoover the walls with the duster attachment?
No one has time for that shit.
Stannisbaratheonsboxofmatches · 21/08/2020 16:53

Nice bed!

It’s not too bad. I wouldn’t choose it for home, but bizarrely would probably enjoy it in a holiday let!

CarolVordermansArse · 21/08/2020 16:53

I could live with it maybe, if the curtains were always closed and the lights off and only for a short time.

Couldn't live with that bed though.

MsEllany · 21/08/2020 16:54

It’s not to my taste but if I’d just moved in then the common areas would be redecorated first so I would live with it until I could afford to change it!

oakleaffy · 21/08/2020 16:54

Re entire house, Love the overmantel with old glass, but the symmetry of the 'touches' look too 'Tryhard'
The bathroom looks a bit ''chilly'' with exposed bricks, but some people will love it.
It is important to have original signs, rather than ''lookey-likey'' but love the big windows.
Thought the oil painting was a glazed picture with rippled glass at first.

Very nice old house.

BackforGood · 21/08/2020 16:56

Thanks for the link @Vivi0

Wow! That bathroom is horrible!

Am I the only one who is thinking the bed looks like it is trying to be a 4 poster, but they ran out of money before getting the 'roof'? Confused

SantaClaritaDiet · 21/08/2020 16:56

THAT is the work of a designer? Confused

Blimey, apart from the horrendous bathroom, it looks pretty much straight from the Next or other bland catalogue. I mean it's ok, but that's how you'd decorate an AirBnB - neutral, bland and no personality.

gwenneh · 21/08/2020 16:57

I could live with it. It's not as if that's a cheap knockoff wall covering TRYING to look expensive, it is the genuine article.

tobedtoMNandfart · 21/08/2020 17:00

@Jux

Paint over it, it's ghastly.
ITS FABRIC!!

well, it does make a difference if you just bought the house/ are thinking of buying the house/ are planning on selling it/ letting it/ just redecorated and your husband hates it!

Most people will be more diplomatic in some cases than others.

Swallowzandamazons · 21/08/2020 17:02

I couldn't live with it. Even looking at a photo has my eyes dancing so I suspect it'd have to go pretty fast (I'm epileptic). I'd be ripping it off the walls and selling it, if it's fabric, and replacing it with something much more gentle. It's rather striking but no, I could not be in that room for more than a moment, but that's personal to me.

CathyNorth · 21/08/2020 17:03

burritofan · 21/08/2020 17:04

The horrible murder bathroom is actually brick FABRIC

Some folks paint their SOFA and die their carpet apparently 😂 , so why wouldn't you paint FABRIC wall.... (I mean, I wouldn't, but each to their own!)

Darcysshirt · 21/08/2020 17:04

FlamingoAndJohn the owner of the house probably has a cleaner to hoover the walls for them!

Mum sold her Edwardian house with loads of original features, {SW London} and the new owners ripped through it all like a dose of Salts. Out went the original features, Down went load bearing walls, in went RSJ's and open plan blandness is everywhere.

She was looking at smaller places, and so many were bland, with no hint of character.
Houses looked promising from outside, but inside were stark, all downlighter and French Grey and Bone White.
It will date as fast as the frills and fol de rolls of the 1980's.

Nice way to avoid the question 😅

(you are the designer aren’t you?)
