Every wall covered in Kate Forman fabric (apart from the expense at £90 a metre)?

Is there an agenda here then ?

Personally , I like it all .

Dahlietta · 21/08/2020 17:10

I think the designer is her ex 😂

SirGawain · 21/08/2020 17:10

Looks like the film set for a '50s Western TV series.

AnneKipanki · 21/08/2020 17:11

The cludgie walls are actually bricks that have been sealed .

PussGirl · 21/08/2020 17:12

I like all of the rest of the house, just not the wall "paper"

Couldn't you paint over fabric btw?

oakleaffy · 21/08/2020 17:13

Brick fabric?? Blimey! heard it all now ..Looks very realistic in pics though.
I do love features in houses, like old toys.. A large crumbling Victorian rocking horse on bow rockers in a bay window is my idea of 'heaven' {Pinterest}

@AnneKipanki

Evidently they are wallpaper! They fooled me, perhaps a bit like wallpaper that is made to look like an old Library.-That fooled me once in a photo, til the titles repeated!
oakleaffy · 21/08/2020 17:19

@ItsIslandTime
I think OP must have an agenda here.
Either she is the designer, or her partner is- or she owns the house-
Lovely location, I'd not say 'neigh'!

MsEllany · 21/08/2020 17:20

I wish there was a pic of the outside of the house. Aside from that hideous bathroom I love the rest, although I would probably change the bedroom as I said upthread.

morefun · 21/08/2020 17:21

Yeah, it looks quite cosy

chunkyrun · 21/08/2020 17:22

I love it! Those draws 😍 I'm in a bland white newbuild. Would love something decadent like this

morefun · 21/08/2020 17:22

I hate grey too, like a previous poster. Everyone seems to have grey rooms, I like a little colour

Melroses · 21/08/2020 17:23

The bathroom looks like it is the coal cellar.

All the cushions seem to be the necessary "rabbit ear" style - is this to prove they have stuffed them with feathers rather than polyester?

Sorberret · 21/08/2020 17:26

Eugh! No way it's hideous! Frumpy, tweedy and old-fashioned

ScarlettDarling · 21/08/2020 17:29

Not my taste at all but it's not so hideous that I couldn't live with it.

But why do you want to know?

WileyStyley · 21/08/2020 17:31

I do like period but not so much this. That said it’s very nicely done with class and style. It’s just not my style and I’d want to change it. As pp said it’s a bit too ‘dolls house’ and a bit too red for me. Well put together though.

OP is this a house you’re moving into or thinking of decorating or what?

SignOnTheWindow · 21/08/2020 17:32

@botswanabanana

Love mumsnet - well you need to tell us why you want to know, otherwise we'll have no idea how to have a go at you about it......
Ha ha! Quite.

And so.... why DO you want to know?

ChardonnaysPetDragon · 21/08/2020 17:34

Hate the bed, hate the art, especially those twee signs, they cheapen it.

Once that's sorted, it will be lovely.

Staffy1 · 21/08/2020 17:35

What's with the rug in the lounge? It's all rumpled, looks more like an old sheet than a rug or carpet.

Summersnearlyover · 21/08/2020 17:43

I love the whole house, I think it’s stunning.

whataboutbob · 21/08/2020 17:43

@morefun I hate grey too and always have, even back in the day when everyone was painting their kitchen extensions in Elephant’s Breath . The worst is house whose exterior are painted the colour of HMS Belfast before being put up for sale. I feel we’ve passed peak grey and people are getting fed up with it.

smallestleaf · 21/08/2020 17:48

It would give me a headache. Far too visually overloading for me.

bibblebobbleblackbobble · 21/08/2020 17:48

The walls would be ok if everything else in the room was "cleaner" and less busy. So lose the flouncy bedding and cushions, those dreadful signs. One larger mirror instead of a collection of small ones above bed. And lose the bondage bed. Have a four-poster with canopy or have a normal bed. Those sticking up posts just look like somewhere to wrap the chains and ropes around.

ManservantHecubus · 21/08/2020 18:03

Really don't like it. That blue is so overdone now and really naff. The rest of the the house is dull and unimaginative. The bedroom is awful, looks like ouija boards on wall. (And I like stuff like this, just don't think it was done very well).

oakleaffy · 21/08/2020 18:12

I thought that..But the Joiner did a good job.

He {or she} probably made it to client's spec. It looks oversized, too.

It just shows how varied we all are in what we like..

In youthful days, living in hideous rooms in shared houses, I was put off wallpaper- or worse, Woodchip ! bleurgh...Looks like porridge thrown at a wall by an outsized Bear.
