Yes

LongPauseNoReply · 17/08/2020 08:04

Yes but only things we bought IN USA. Nothing I’ve bought here has been.

jolokoy · 17/08/2020 08:04

Yes because I spent about a third of last year there, but otherwise I might not.

Oh, well, I have owned a steel reusable coffee filter cone for many years that has MADE IN THE USA printed around the edge.

ftm202020 · 17/08/2020 08:06

My husband was made in the USA 🤣.

Rainonplain · 17/08/2020 08:08

A few things from when we were able to travel there to see the grandparents. Can’t say if I’ e notice anything else I’ve bought in Europe was made in the USA because I would t be paying attention to that.
Why ask? Is this one of those ‘nothing is made in the USA anymore, it’s all from China/Taiwan etc’ threads.

vampirethriller · 17/08/2020 08:08

Some baby clothes a friend in New York sent my daughter but nothing bought here.

SockYarn · 17/08/2020 08:09

My Kitchen Aid. Probably loads of other stuff as we've been there and bought stuff.

And?

Mominatrix · 17/08/2020 08:10

What is the AIBU?

fairislecable · 17/08/2020 08:11

Saucepans, chopping boards and small kitchen stuff mostly from Williams of Sonoma bought many years ago.

SmileTolerantly · 17/08/2020 08:21

Intriguing question. For any Jack Daniels drinkers that’s your answer, and for a large chunk of MNers the answer will be “the screen and semiconductors in my iPhone”

MasterGland · 17/08/2020 08:24

My kitchen aid and my concept rowing machine.

HeddaGarbled · 17/08/2020 08:25

I don’t know.

Why?

Chemenger · 17/08/2020 08:26

Kitchen aid and various things bought over there.

Dohorseseatapples · 17/08/2020 08:26

Why?

MigGril · 17/08/2020 08:27

Yes we have 3 ceiling fans which are made in the USA, for some reason they make really good ones and nobody else does. I don't know about anything else.

ChangeThePassword · 17/08/2020 08:28

How would I know? Unless there's something obvious (like American sweets or jack Daniels, or if bought things over there)

Oh, I do have a nearly fifty year old American book, now I come to think about it.

Penners99 · 17/08/2020 08:29

Yep, an adze.

MaskingForIt · 17/08/2020 08:31

Yes, bath towels.

Why?

YgritteSnow · 17/08/2020 08:32

Yes loads of stuff as I have been on holiday there every year for the past five years.

Glitteryone · 17/08/2020 08:35

Candles & my iPhone / iPad.

Why? I’m not sure if YABU or not....

Sgtmajormummy · 17/08/2020 08:35

Quite a few Cross brand fountain pens and propelling pencils from the 80s.
A pen that went on space missions.
A couple of Hamilton watches (not the Men in Black one!)

Good quality tshirts and hoodies.
Patchwork crafting materials.
Lots of American software and apps.

SmileTolerantly · 17/08/2020 08:39

In the run-up to Brexit the question of where everything comes from is an interesting one. Things that a lot of houses will have which haven’t been mentioned are Californian wine and almonds - and maybe some pharmaceuticals.
UK imports from the US overall are mostly planes, pharmaceuticals and specialist machinery I think.

NameChange84 · 17/08/2020 08:40

Yep. Loads of my stuff.

BlackBucketOfCheese · 17/08/2020 08:46

Kitchen Aid stand mixer
Pancake mix
Few lipsticks my friend bought back from her last trip
The old Martha Stewart stationery range.
My 10 year old was made there, although born in the U.K. Wink - I worked there for a period of time.

Although I won’t be getting rid of any of the above, I do now actively try my hardest not to buy anything made in the USA. Nor will I travel there again until they sort out their human rights abuses.

DelurkingAJ · 17/08/2020 08:49

Lots. DM is American so we went over there annually when DGP were alive.
