Lots.

botswanabanana · 17/08/2020 08:55

Exactly @SmileTolerantly

I meant more things that were not bought there, but things bought in the UK.

I have jeans and bath towels, can't see a lot else.

Don't forget US movies, tv shows & music. Most of us have those.

I also have a great popcorn maker.

Hiddenmnetter · 17/08/2020 09:09

I bought several tools that I was under the impression were made in the USA, only to discover DeWalt had shipped production off to China some years back. So now I'm saving up for mafell tools. They are expensive :(

WhereTheCrawdadsSing · 17/08/2020 09:13

I was made in the USA also Sad. Don't boycott me will you?

YgritteSnow · 17/08/2020 09:20

I won't be boycotting anything from the US. If we are boycotting on the grounds of human rights violations by country, there's very little we would be able to use or buy that was considered ethical.

NastyBlouse · 17/08/2020 09:22

Anyone who drives a BMW X3, X4, X5 or X6 will have a product made in the USA. They're all built in Spartanburg, South Carolina, even the ones sold in Europe.

morning17 · 17/08/2020 09:24

A picture of a Rocky Mountain scene.

CaptainMyCaptain · 17/08/2020 09:25

I didn't know my kitchen aid was made in the USA I'll have to check now. The only other thing I know of is a book of embroidery transfers ordered on Amazon that came from the USA.

Rainbowshine · 17/08/2020 09:26

Wine. Probably stuff that has parts made there (laptop, phone).

I quite agree! The USA has its problems, but there are plenty of countries I would boycott long before boycotting the USA!

Classic Mumsnet anti-USAisms.

dwiz8 · 17/08/2020 09:27

Yep

We travel there (pre covid) twice a year for Disney so have many made in the USA items

Main one being my limited edition kitchen aid which was only sold in the US in the particular colour

CaptainMyCaptain · 17/08/2020 09:28

I don't know about a general boycott but chlorinated chicken will not pass my threshold. Or any other intensively reared, hormone fed meat.

ForeverHomeSearcher · 17/08/2020 09:29

Pushchair is definitely a US brand. Not sure if it was actually made their though as they do have a UK distribution arm. 🤔

CoralFish · 17/08/2020 09:45

@SockYarn

My Kitchen Aid. Probably loads of other stuff as we've been there and bought stuff.

And?

Interestingly my KitchenAid says 'made in the USA' on the top, but I recently had to send it for repair and had to find the 'other' serial number on a sticker on the bottom... which said 'made in the EU'...
BikeRunSki · 17/08/2020 09:48

Some Apple stuff, and outdoor gear from US brands like Patagonia, Black Diamond and Mountain Hardware, but probably actually made elsewhere.

MillicentMartha · 17/08/2020 09:53

I worry that chlorinated chicken will be in my takeaway curry, KFC and other restaurant food. But I won’t be boycotting US products in general. Hmm

hennybeans · 17/08/2020 09:55

I was also made in the USA. In my house I have various food items, mostly bought in Costco. California strawberries and almonds, tinned pumpkin, A1 steak sauce, possibly Skippy peanut butter, root beer, jelly Belly jelly beans. It was recently ds's birthday and I bought him a hamper of American sweets. Crystal Light and Lipton ice tea bags, pancake mix, hot sauce, sprinkles left over from my last trip there. Lots of crafting kit and fabric.

When you go to the States there are a lot of things around that are advertised as made in the USA. I think Americans find that more important than Brits find buying made in the UK products.

Bwlch · 17/08/2020 09:56

There's a great big thing on the drive.

Seconded...what is this actually about?

And why are you deliberately giving so little information - are you a market researcher, are you doing some sort of straw poll for an article?

@botswanabanana it's conventionally a bit more polite to share a bit about why you're interested personally or otherwise in this.

Perhaps when you do that, then I'll share what I have that's manufactured in the USA. Or maybe not. Up to you.

Be thankful that others on this thread are more generous.

dwiz8 · 17/08/2020 09:58

@CoralFish for the kitchen aids some parts are manufactured elsewhere and replacement parts are made in China from their parent company.

Not sure where the made in eu thing came from though as they don't have a plant there just a repair facility

JuniperFather · 17/08/2020 09:59

Just curious - which Apple stuff do you have that's manufactured in the US?
BikeRunSki · 17/08/2020 10:01

That was a badly worded on my behalf. Nothing Apple actually made in the US.

Whatisthisfuckery · 17/08/2020 10:03

I have three guitars made in the US.
