Hoping for traffic. I've received fab recommendations when I asked about help with skincare and I'm hoping I can get some links/inspiration this time too...

I've been trying to find a shoe preferably trainer or something comfortable that will go with most outfits from jeans and tshirt to a nice casual dress. Basically shoes I can throw on when out and about just shopping / school run or on days out with the DCs when we do plenty of walking and running around after them but that look nice and put together.

I have a pair of slip on navy sketchers go walk which I picked up on a whim in the sale a while ago and I love very much they are the comfiest things ever but they wouldn't go with a dress or certain "nicer" clothes.
I'm a bit worried about going for white trainers which I've seen so many people wear as I'm uncertain how to keep them clean and pristine which is the only time they look good.

My usual go to outfit is skinny jeans, vest & cardigan or when it's warm a mid length casual dress or maxi skirt.
I don't mind laces or slip on shoes.

Has anyone seen or have a pair of great all round shoes?

Metallic ballet pumps oddly go with everything. Get a comfy fit one. I've got several. Rose gold silver, gold etc...

Lacoste Marice are nice for slip on pumps and super comfortable

Another word of thanks to everyone on this thread - my first FitFlop order arrived today and everything is comfy and versatile. Especially the bronze Rally trainers. Wish I’d shopped there sooner. Still a big fan of Supergas too.

I was fed up with trainers, I wanted Something casual but smart, I got Clark’s trace walk in gold, I wear them with everything and they were in the sale

I have Skechers One Up in light grey, super comfy and can wear with a casual dress as more pump like than trainer like. Much the same as the ones in the photo.

100% white trainers, Stan smiths or those m&s ones above.

I just bought my first noair of BBC Promark trainers after being soaked through in storms whilst away last week, and needed an emergency change of footwear.
They are fab, I walked miles in them the next day, and they've stood up to being out in the rain all day today as well. Comfy and waterproof. They are plain white.
Normally I wear silver Fitflop trainers or black 3 stripe Adidas, both look fine with anything, but the Adidas are not even slightly showerproof, so they are summer only!

White leather Chuck Taylor Converse trainers (the low ones, not the Hi-Tops).
They're simple, stylish, look good with every outfit, and stay 'fresh' looking forever with a teeny bit of TLC. The trick to keeping them looking good is having a stash of fresh white laces at home (I buy them cheap on eBay). When they start to look grubby, I just replace the old laces & give the whole shoe a quick clean with an anti-bac wipe/babywipe...then they're good-as-new Star

I live in boat shoes.

If you especially like sketchers I think they do a boat style shoe. I also got some sandals from sketchers a couple of years ago with a thick sole which are lovely to wear.

I wear Birkenstock and Fit Flop sandals all summer long.

When I have to put my toes away my go to foot ware is a pair of Ecco Chelsea boots. They were pricey but I've had 5 years of solid wear out of them and they are still going strong.

I WFH and have some slip on toe covering Wolkys for around the house.
