It's just too much! Way too much media focus on a them and all their drama. There's a global pandemic, explosions, oil spills etc. etc. etc. There are so many more important things going on in the World than a bunch of over-priviledged plebs and their family drama. It's not interesting, it's not relevant to the rest of the World and it's not in any way beneficial to anyone to keep speculating about them. I get that some people may find it interesting but so interesting it dominates headlines for months on end?!?

I should point out, I'm moaning about the media's obsession rather than them as an individual couple; whilst I'm not a fan of theirs by any stretch, it's the ridiculous number of articles I've seen about them across different news sites that's bugging me. Surely there's not that much to say about them?!

OP posts:
gingganggooleywotsit · 13/08/2020 13:05

sorry that's simply not true. The other papers do not have nearly as many articles about them as the daily mail.

EthelMayFergus · 13/08/2020 13:21

It is true. Alliwant didn't say 'as many articles', they said 'running regular articles on them'. Which is true.

GetOffYourHighHorse · 13/08/2020 14:36

I think it's funny The Times ran the previews of it. A bit gossipy for them isnt it? Kind of demonstrates the Sussexes delusion, they object to being scrutinised in the gutter press yet are behind an incredibly personal and revealing expose of themselves and all The RF, but it's in the Times so that's ok.

Alongcameacat · 13/08/2020 15:23

The authors of the book spoke to the couple? They haven’t said what parts of the book they spoke about. They could have asked the couple one very vague question and tgg hg at ticked the box of speaking to them.
I get that some people love to read gossip but don’t take it as fact. Use your common sense. Imagine if an ex neighbour wrote something about you as fact and everybody repeated it. You’d be either appalled or in disbelief that anybody would be so gullible.

The Times and the publisher of the book are both owned by Murdoch. So a bit of infra-Group publicity
Marlboroughdreams · 13/08/2020 16:53

As is the Daily Mail?!

Serenster · 13/08/2020 16:55

Well, considering the recent litigation judgement in Meghan's court case has made it clear that Omid Scobie, one of the co-authors, is so close to Meghan's camp that he was sent her application for an inunction along with her witness statement directly by her lawyers an hour after it was filed in court so he could tweet about it, I think we are relying on common sense, actually.

Lamahaha · 13/08/2020 17:33

I would think but this is purely an educated guess that they were given the manuscript before final publication for approval...

I think you're being very generous to suggest that the author might have asked 'one vague question'. Using my common sense, I expect that there was fairly significant input from Meghan, if not Harry. My view is based upon the detail written regarding situations where only the two of them were present.

Agreed.

Also agree.
KatherineParr4 · 13/08/2020 19:18

Whoever wrote it should be shot. It’s the worst purple prose and so poorly written it’s laughable.

bluebell34567 · 13/08/2020 21:43

i wonder how much they will earn from the book.

noswaith · 13/08/2020 21:49

I think they should be left in peace.

saltycat · 13/08/2020 21:58

Wonder who really cares? Not me anyway.

But was always that way with so called SLEBS anyway. lol.

Hope they will be happy just the same. But they need to keep their mouths shut now and live their best lives out of the limelight, which is what they wanted.

Alongcameacat · 13/08/2020 22:12

I think they should be left in peace

I do too.

ajandjjmum · 14/08/2020 08:21

Maybe they could leave us in peace too! Grin

CherryValanc · 14/08/2020 08:24

You read the Daily Mail and The Telegraph?

Well, this is you punishment.

aquashiv · 14/08/2020 08:31

I see the headlines but just like the stories about other z list celebs I don't bother reading them.
I have some sympathy with how they are being hounded if they were genuine about leaving that life behind.

OverUnderSidewaysDown · 14/08/2020 10:59

Im not so much bored by them as totally disgusted at their excessive expenditure on a luxury mansion when the rest of the world is going into recession, people are losing their jobs, and our children and grandchildren are facing a very uncertain and worrying future,

They might at least have had the grace to buy somewhere less flashy.
They just disgust me now. They are tone deaf.

SunbathingDragon · 14/08/2020 11:42

I agree they are tone deaf but I do also think they genuinely believe that those who think they are don’t understand them and why they need such a big house/private planes/lifestyle etc.

Viviennemary · 14/08/2020 12:02

Why do they need such a big house. Sixteen bathrooms for two people and a baby. Shock

angelfishrock · 14/08/2020 12:04

just don't read the daily fail. sorted!

SunbathingDragon · 14/08/2020 12:10

I don’t have an issue with the size of the house. Many members of the RF have huge houses (sometimes more than one) and it means it is away from the road for more privacy, plus the land is large enough to allow for outer and inner security walls for further protection. Being generous, it’s also possible some rooms could be used as offices and some bedrooms for security, or additional staff. So as long as they genuinely are financially independent and it is not the U.K. taxpayer paying for it, especially since to an extent the insurance costs etc will still be paid by the taxpayer for empty Frogmore Cottage, I couldn’t really care where they live.

CallmeAngelina · 14/08/2020 13:16

Ah, and there's the fly in the ointment!
