It's just too much! Way too much media focus on a them and all their drama. There's a global pandemic, explosions, oil spills etc. etc. etc. There are so many more important things going on in the World than a bunch of over-priviledged plebs and their family drama. It's not interesting, it's not relevant to the rest of the World and it's not in any way beneficial to anyone to keep speculating about them. I get that some people may find it interesting but so interesting it dominates headlines for months on end?!?

I should point out, I'm moaning about the media's obsession rather than them as an individual couple; whilst I'm not a fan of theirs by any stretch, it's the ridiculous number of articles I've seen about them across different news sites that's bugging me. Surely there's not that much to say about them?!

@Samcro

Roussette i think you will find there s a lot of trolling going on(might not be the mn term for it, but imo its trolling) You cannot argue with it as it will just keep happening.
Trolling as I understand it is an attempt to disrupt and derail for malicious reasons. Those who express genuinely held opinions and feelings within a respectful discussion are not trolling.
Samcro · 12/08/2020 22:05

No your right, but there are some on this thread who have a different agenda.
Makes your ears burn.

Roussette · 12/08/2020 22:05

Yes you're right Samcro I shall leave it there.

Roussette · 12/08/2020 22:08

I know you nicely said to leave it, and I will, but but just to answer your question - "is that the best you can level at me today?" definitely comes across as fightin' words

Really not! I just found it bizarre in this discussion to bring up a link I posted on a different thread on a different time. There were plenty of posters on here discussing and it's not about me and what I posted previously, it just gets very wearing, that's all.

I think it is important for people to know what sources you do consider reliable. Considering you constantly say that newspapers are not reliable sources (I am not referring to DM), you don’t believe it and insinuate that anyone that does is racist and whatever else you choose to level at posters.
Roussette · 12/08/2020 22:20

This thread is not about me. Why do you need to know that? Would you like to check that with other posters too? I have never said that all newspapers are not reliable sources. Talking of insinuations... You are just making stuff up and I'm not engaging any more. Have a nice evening discussing this by the way.

It is hard to fathom why two people for whom privacy is important have shared with others details like Meghan's bathroom habits while camping and how Harry felt about that.

For a couple who claim their privacy is so important, the entire contents of the book is astounding! It’s especially bad timing for them considering the court case against AN.
GlummyMcGlummerson · 12/08/2020 22:56

YANBU.

I wonder if they thought "quitting" the Royal Family would mean they'd be left alone. Awful.

gingganggooleywotsit · 12/08/2020 23:19

People on this thread really think Harry and Meghan "approved" the book 'Finding Freedom'? My word, don't know whether to laugh or cry 😂

bluebell34567 · 12/08/2020 23:21

This ---> I think also there is bullying going on from M and H’s side. Toward their own family who must be devastated. Does that not count?

Have you actually read it? If not, read it before you decide because it’s blindingly obvious it was written with huge input from Meghan at least. The language used, the detail etc. ‘Friends’ would not have known how many concrete steps led up to William and Kate’s KP apartment for example. Or that they had recently been jet washed...

In all seriousness I do believe that. For months this book has been touted as presenting H&M's perspective. The authors say that they have spoken to sources close to H&M and even, 'when appropriate' to H&M themselves. If this is not the case, if H&M do not feel that this book represents their perspective, if the sources are not telling the truth, then they could say so.

In the absence of that it seems reasonable to believe that this is the view of events that H&M wish to present to the world.

If this is not the case it would be interesting to hear how some of the personal and even intimate descriptions of events came about. Are they someone's fantasy or what?

KatherineParr4 · 12/08/2020 23:58

They are definitely someone’s fantasy. Yes..

I agree.
1Morewineplease · 13/08/2020 00:19

@CallmeAngelina

And I would like to know why he has "bought" a new property, without settling the debt to the British taxpayer on Frogmore Cottage.
Quite.
1Morewineplease · 13/08/2020 00:20

@Roussette

Frogmore was due refurbishment, there are articles stating that, it was in a dodgy state, it was due to happen anyway.
But why should we taxpayers fork out for it?
1Morewineplease · 13/08/2020 00:21

@Roussette

At least Frogmore is now refurbished and other Royals can use it, or H&M can when they pop back to the UK. !
But no one uses it.
Alongcameacat · 13/08/2020 02:35

There was a summary of the book in one of the Irish paper’s today. It was written from a neutral point and dispelled many of the myths frequently written about on here.

  • The incident claiming Meghan made Kate cry didn’t happen.
  • The tiara issue arose due to the dressmaker not giving it to MM fir hair trials. It was nothing to do with MM not wanting that particular tiara.
  • Harry was the person who instigated leaving the RF.
  • The palace issued a public statement denying Kate had Botox but didn’t help towards the onslaught from the British media towards MM.

It was an interesting summary by a completely neutral journalist.

That they moved into a house six weeks ago really shows that we simply don’t know what happens in the RF. Everything written in the never ending MN threads is just speculation and regurgitating the shite the Daily Mail spews.

Yes. I think that. I am surprised there are people who don't!
