It's just too much! Way too much media focus on a them and all their drama. There's a global pandemic, explosions, oil spills etc. etc. etc. There are so many more important things going on in the World than a bunch of over-priviledged plebs and their family drama. It's not interesting, it's not relevant to the rest of the World and it's not in any way beneficial to anyone to keep speculating about them. I get that some people may find it interesting but so interesting it dominates headlines for months on end?!?

I should point out, I'm moaning about the media's obsession rather than them as an individual couple; whilst I'm not a fan of theirs by any stretch, it's the ridiculous number of articles I've seen about them across different news sites that's bugging me. Surely there's not that much to say about them?!

OP posts:
gingganggooleywotsit · 12/08/2020 21:11

Agree. Of course they are being bullied. Anyone who can't see that is part of it.

gingganggooleywotsit · 12/08/2020 21:13

Many of those bullies are on this bloody thread. Get a life and stop being spiteful about people you don't know.

KatherineParr4 · 12/08/2020 21:16

@Roussette

You don't know they've given all their friends all these titbits to be published. This is a royal reporter who has reported and approached friends, and quoted and made a book. Doing what royal reporters do. Bit like Lady Campbell and her book. I didn't take much notice of that one either. As lots of others don't.
Why aren’t they sueing then? They certainly aren’t backward in taking action when they are defamed elsewhere. The book certainly doesn’t present them in a favourable light. At all.
Port1aCastis · 12/08/2020 21:16

She most definitely is being bullied !

But you think Cosmo is a reliable source...
Roussette · 12/08/2020 21:24

I posted one link from Cosmopolitan on a thread a while ago, is that the best you can level at me today?

alliwantisagoodnightssleep · 12/08/2020 21:29

Oh no, there is lots that I could level but I wouldn’t want to be banned.
Roussette · 12/08/2020 21:37

Nice Hmm
I'm sure you have somewhere else you can get it off your chest.

dwiz8 · 12/08/2020 21:38

Do you happen to read the daily fail? As that's the only 'news' source which covers them

Serenster · 12/08/2020 21:38

@Roussette

I posted one link from Cosmopolitan on a thread a while ago, is that the best you can level at me today?
It was 6 days ago, and you posted the Cosmo link to demonstrate what you found interesting information when posters suggested it might be illuminating to read the judgement of Justice Warby in the ongoing litigation.
Roussette · 12/08/2020 21:41

Serenster so? Your point is?

As I said I posted it on another thread a while ago.

I haven't denied posting it, so no idea what you're on about

myrtleWilson · 12/08/2020 21:42

To be fair @roussette - I've found your posts very fair - but your Cosmo post seemed out of line of your normal posting - it was cringing in its assessment of the legal process - that is at cosmos door not yours - but thats why is stood out for me as an unusual post for you

Roussette · 12/08/2020 21:44

Thanks myrtle
I think I shall be forever punished for it though!

KatherineParr4 · 12/08/2020 21:44

@Lifeandjoy

They are being bullied and there is underlying racism. It is not being dramatic it is what it is. This denial is not fooling anyone except those who want to keep denying what is patently obvious. As I’ve said before, what do you suppose the typical person who denies racism is involved and denies bullying looks like?
The problem with this argument is that Harry is just as culpable. He is coming in for a lot of criticism both in the press and on these threads.So is he the subject of racism too? As a white red haired man, there are people of colour who want to slag him off because he’s white and not because of his behaviour and attitude? We are not hearing about that, strangely.
Serenster · 12/08/2020 21:45

Another poster made a valid point showing you aren't always consistent when telling other posters what is and isn't acceptable for them. You were aggressive in response and minimised the issue. I just wanted to clarify it.

EthelMayFergus · 12/08/2020 21:47

For me Rousesette, it's interesting that you posted it as a take on the ongoing court case, in preference to the actual judgement of Justice Warby, not because it was accurate (it wasn't), but rather because it was favourable to H and M.

Samcro · 12/08/2020 21:48

@Port1aCastis

She most definitely is being bullied !
At last people are seeing it. I have been saying this for ages. Others have to, ut we get shouted down and eventually give up. But it is on line bullying.
Serenster · 12/08/2020 21:54

Actually I think most of what is discussed here would fall to be considered as opinions with an apparent basis, and which are honestly held; or truths (plenty of things which would have been considered opinions until Finding Freedom was published now appear to be truths, helpfully).

KatherineParr4 · 12/08/2020 21:54

What is the difference between dislike/outrage/disbelief and bullying? There are lots of public figures who behave badly and who come in for scrutiny and criticism. Public figures who court attention/ publicity and benefit from public money come in for criticism. That’s the way it is.

EthelMayFergus · 12/08/2020 21:55

Is it bullying? A couple, immensely privileged, flounce from the royal family to 'find freedom' from them, and publicly discredit many members of the family while maintaining outrage at their own bad press. They accept the financial generosity of the family indefinitely, including the purchase of a $7m house. They are criticised for this hypocrisy amongst many other hypocrisies. Is that really bullying?

Roussette · 12/08/2020 21:55

Another poster made a valid point showing you aren't always consistent when telling other posters what is and isn't acceptable for them. You were aggressive in response and minimised the issue. I just wanted to clarify it

What do you mean? I did not deny posting it so I still don;t understand and can you link to me being aggressive please? What I find galling is... you and I had a decent to and fro earlier today on this thread. I thought it was a pleasant exchange. Obviously not, given my MO. Disappointing and a bit rich to call me aggressive.

Let's leave it there.

myrtleWilson · 12/08/2020 21:56

Repent at your leisure @Roussette! having said that - I do think the book clearly has had an agreed input from H&M (am sure I read an official link that said their staff signposted who to speak to - will try to find it). And to that end, I think from the RF point of view ( momentarily putting aside the rights and wrongs) how can/do PW/PH rebuild trust without the suspicion that another book is in the offing...

Samcro · 12/08/2020 21:59

Roussette i think you will find there s a lot of trolling going on(might not be the mn term for it, but imo its trolling)
You cannot argue with it as it will just keep happening.

KatherineParr4 · 12/08/2020 21:59

I think also there is bullying going on from M and H’s side. Toward their own family who must be devastated. Does that not count?

Serenster · 12/08/2020 22:01

Rousette, I know you nicely said to leave it, and I will, but but just to answer your question - "is that the best you can level at me today?" definitely comes across as fightin' words! Smile
