To be completely bored of the constant coverage of Harry and Meghan

It's just too much! Way too much media focus on a them and all their drama. There's a global pandemic, explosions, oil spills etc. etc. etc. There are so many more important things going on in the World than a bunch of over-priviledged plebs and their family drama. It's not interesting, it's not relevant to the rest of the World and it's not in any way beneficial to anyone to keep speculating about them. I get that some people may find it interesting but so interesting it dominates headlines for months on end?!?

I should point out, I'm moaning about the media's obsession rather than them as an individual couple; whilst I'm not a fan of theirs by any stretch, it's the ridiculous number of articles I've seen about them across different news sites that's bugging me. Surely there's not that much to say about them?!

OP posts:

Roussette, there are loads of clips available of Meghan tapping Harry on the back to stop him walking ahead of her. It's quite funny, he stops dead and actually looks at his feet as she strides off ahead of him with her hand out to shake the person that's come to see her, not Prince Harry, not HMQ's grandson, no, they've come to see the actress that was in Suits. One time it doesn't work and they almost fall over each other. (Waits patiently for tell us that you do just the same with your husband).

@anon5000

Some people on here and elsewhere would have to get a life if they didn't obsess about M & H constantly

Precisely. Look at the petty reasons listed by @lifestooshort123. The mind seriously boggles at this kind nonsense, when Prince Andrew has links to a bloody Paedophile.

LaurieMarlow · 12/08/2020 14:54

but there was a maternity dress worn in Morocco that was £90,000

Link?

First I’ve heard about this and I’ve heard plenty on here about Meghan’s clothes spending.

It’s actually jaw dropping what people choose to focus on.

Yet here you are commenting too. Should everyone on MN 'get a life'? The cheesy book that they allowed friends to comment negatively about The Queen and all the RF is all over the media! People will have an opinion on it. They can dish it but can't take it apparently.

I've no capacity on my phone to link, but hopefully someone else can please? It's a gown by Dior, worn on the 3 day Moroccan tour, outfit cost £100k, £90k of it was the dress.

Commenting and pointing out what is quite frankly the truth, is quite different then being an active participant in the ridiculous vitriol, so yes these people do need to get a life. If that touches a nerve ask yourself why. What exactly have they ‘dished out’?? How incredibly childish

Well this is about H&M? Start a thread about Andrew and all the celebs that knew Epstein and I'll comment on that.
Roussette · 12/08/2020 15:01

Ethel given I have never noticed anything like this, it is obviously not the crime of the century and to my mind, is irrelevant. And as she has been criticised for causing drought and murder for eating an avocado, I take little notice of this sort of thing. Whereas for Kate eating avocado is sensible as it is a superfood.

dottiedodah · 12/08/2020 15:02

I like many others here ,wake up have a cup of tea and sift through the Internet ,a couple of stories here ,a giggle here and there usually .Like OP am pretty fed up of the same old M and H stories all the time! Pretty hard to avoid .If this couple wish to be left alone ,then why all this interest? Are they still being funded by Prince Charles at least partly? If so then yes ,as we are inadvertantly paying for them! If not then surely no longer our business,

Roussette · 12/08/2020 15:03

You're obviously having a larf on that...
Every single H&M thread goes on and on and on in great detail about every single member of the RF. And how wonderful they all are of course.
So why should PA be excluded here? It's relevant. We're talking about the Press

LadyMacbethWasMisunderstood · 12/08/2020 15:05

Truly I see no news coverage of them at all. Big story everywhere when they announced their decision to “leave”. Then again when they appeared in public for the last time with William and Catherine. But barely anything at all since. Obviously if I were to google them, stories come up. But the media I access regularly has almost nothing about them. I do think that if the Mail is your source of “news” then you can hardly complain if it is full of Harry and Meghan. But you’d be hard pressed to find even a few words on the BBC news website, the Guardian on-line or the Independent.

*crap - Danny you autocorrect

And wowzers I never realised how much she actually spent on her maternity wardrobe 😲

GinWithRosie · 12/08/2020 15:06

Literally cannot bear it! I don't look/listen to any of it...I just switch off now! 🙉🙈

GetOffYourHighHorse · 12/08/2020 15:07

'What exactly have they ‘dished out’?? How incredibly childish'

Have you not heard of the book 'Finding Freedom' that is been discussed on here? They may not be making money and apparently weren't 'interviewed' but they've allowed friends to pass on a load of private details. I would say breaking many other people's privacy. That's what I meant when I said they can dish it but can't take it.

dottiedodah · 12/08/2020 15:10

SunbathingDragon Oh I didnt realise The Times had published it first! I agree with you that few Times readers would depart to the Mail .However the Telegraph is similar to the Times, and would attract a similar readership .The Times is largely subscription based ,where the Telegraph still has a good few articles that can be sourced free of charge . Maybe they have decamped there!

LaurieMarlow · 12/08/2020 15:11

What a load of tosh, they’re making up outfit ‘prices’ by factoring in a ring of Diana’s valued at 75k.

And no one has a clue how much Kate spent as these records aren’t public.

No Lawrie, that dress actually cost £90,000. (The ear rings were £7,000 but that wasn't included in the dress price.)

Exactly Laurie What a lot of complete and utter made up bullshit tosh!
The media have really done a number, no wonder lawyers are up to their eyes in work.

LaurieMarlow · 12/08/2020 15:18

You missed the word ‘estimated’

The cost isn’t known, which is true of lots of Kate’s designer stuff too.

EthelMayFergus · 12/08/2020 15:18

It shouldn't matter how much Kate spent, on a thread about Meghan and Harry. I can see that you want to compare, but it's like complaining that the CEO of a company with 15 years experience has a nicer company car than the office junior who worked for a year.

If you want to compare Meghan to another woman in the royal family, probably Sophie would be a more similar comparison, in terms of status.

LaurieMarlow · 12/08/2020 15:20

Exactly Laurie What a lot of complete and utter made up bullshit tosh

The use of already owned jewellery, making up about 90% some of the outfit ‘prices’ is ridiculous.

But lapped up.
