DP put Shake n Vac in the mince instead of salt. We are it and only realised later.

AIBU to seek medical assistance?

WTF is this about a hamster in a stew. Confused

Even DP isn't that thick.

I know, it makes me feel old.

Gizmo79 · 10/08/2020 23:20

stayathomer perhaps because I work there... and yes, bored of papercut, bruises, and this kind of behaviour. At some point adults need to behave as just that. Wasting A&E time due to being too pissed to notice a difference between salt and shake’n’vac... There is stupidity and then there is that.

A troll about 12 years ago. Said she was cooking a stew and and her hamster got out of its cage and fell in it. No one noticed until they had eaten it and there were clumps of fur and hamster in the pot.

FWIW, you couldn’t have ingested that much. I wouldn’t worry.

SickOfNorthernExile · 10/08/2020 23:27

I believe this.

Remember that idiot lad that ate the fat balls someone had made with her kid for the birds? He ate more than one, just chowed down?

Of course somebody’s husband would shake and vac the spag bol. It’s just... what husbands do, apparently.

This is why I left mine.

SickOfNorthernExile · 10/08/2020 23:28

Also the dad that was feeding his kids roadkill badger at weekends when he had access...

Isinknot · 10/08/2020 23:30

@Gizmo79 Now I have calmed down and realised we will be fine, I can see where you are coming from. I would be pissed off with this sort of stuff if I did your job. Flowers

@Wankpuffin (great name BTW) That's just insane! Nobody wants to boil the little hamster peeps. If someone somewhere does, I'd rather live in blissful ignorance.

@GiantPinesAhem It's basically a bedsit we live in, no room to swing a cat let alone coordinate condiments and cleaning products separately.

I got the poster wrong but here it is - far worse than shake and vac www.mumsnet.com/Talk/pets/238111-please-don-t-laugh-but-i-think-i-may-have

Luckingfovely · 10/08/2020 23:34

You've just reminded me of a time when my young DS swiped and chomped a piece of Parmesan off a chopping board while I was cooking. Except that it was horseradish root, just dug from the garden. His face... Grin

mrcow · 10/08/2020 23:43

As someone who once hair-sprayed their armpits, I feel your pain.

Wavescrashingonthebeach · 10/08/2020 23:46

@Isinknot

I sympathise. Ive lived in a tiny flat before. Not that this one is much bigger. Maybe keep cleaning products in the bathroom then?

And get DH voucher for Specsavers Grin

TrainspottingWelsh · 10/08/2020 23:47

I don't doubt your story op. I just doubt the likelihood shake n vac is still around. Is your kitchen in a twilight zone with a portal to 1988?

blacktop · 10/08/2020 23:48

OP if he didn't notice when he did it and you didn't no rice when you ate it, how do you know?

@blacktop He realised when he went back to the kitchen to refill our wine, saw that he'd not moved the salt but the Shake n Vac was still next to the pan. Then confessed all (after refilling the wine.)

@Luckingfovely My younger sister did similar with a chilli when she was 3, thinking it was a green bean.

I just got a right laugh reading this!! One thing I can't quite work out is why it wasn't deleted, especially when the OP said it was a wind up, weird, but certainly funny.

Lindy2 · 11/08/2020 00:29

Blimey. If you can't smell or taste the difference between salt and shake n vac, you'd better go and book a Coronavirus test.

Isinknot · 11/08/2020 00:31

@Lindy2 I was a tad worse for wear.

I woke the whole house when I read that thread

SunshineCake · 11/08/2020 06:40

@Isinknot

Everyone who has asked why cleaning products are next to the salt - it's all lined up on the windowsill.
Hmm
SoupDragon · 11/08/2020 09:19

he went back to the kitchen to refill our wine

Why was the wine in the kitchen and not with you?

Amateurs.
