DP put Shake n Vac in the mince instead of salt. We are it and only realised later.

AIBU to seek medical assistance?

You keep the salt next to the shake and vac? Hmm

AgentProvocateur · 10/08/2020 20:27

@SadiePurple 😂😂

enjoyingscience · 10/08/2020 20:28

I can’t imagine how this happened. At all. Was he doing a fun ‘blindfolded dinner making’ game? Didn’t he notice the salt smelled like flowers?

Snailsetssail · 10/08/2020 20:30

@Isinknot

We didn't notice the taste because we had quite a bit of red wine.

I'm probably overreacting.

No..you’re probably lying.

If he by any minute chance use shake and vac instead of salt then it would only have been a pinch he added anyway and so you will be fine.

LunchBoxPolice · 10/08/2020 20:30

Yes, but even people who are idiots do not put shake and vac in their food

Hahaha this line killed me Grin

DotForShort · 10/08/2020 20:35

My DH once used Fairy liquid instead of olive oil. Grin He is extremely absent-minded (which may go without saying). He noticed immediately when he tasted the dish. No one else tried it, fortunately. But we have never let him forget it.

catsarecute · 10/08/2020 20:38

If I ever put salt in food, I would only put a pinch so would think if he's only put a pinch in you'll be ok... if you are worried I agree with Emelene, ring 111 for advice, no need to go straight to the hospital unless you are feeling ill.

Fatherbrownsbicycle · 10/08/2020 20:38

May cause abdominal discomfort but your farts will smell lovely Grin online leaflet on hazards below. You won’t have had much though.

@SadiePurple

Has it put the freshness back?

TheTrollFairy · 10/08/2020 20:40

How can you mix them up? He must have been off his face to not notice

To go to hospital
TheHumanRubbishBin · 10/08/2020 20:43

Is this a really shit attempt at a funny thread? Because it's a full on fail.

MinnieJackson · 10/08/2020 20:45

How?! It's in a huge green bottle?

Shizzlestix · 10/08/2020 20:52

Wtf?

cheeseislife8 · 10/08/2020 20:53

Impressive

Gizmo79 · 10/08/2020 20:54

Whatever. Unless you both have an IQ less than a slug then this is rubbish

Emmelina · 10/08/2020 20:56

111 would probably be sufficient! You probably didn’t eat enough of it to make you ill.

Isinknot · 10/08/2020 20:56

@Gizmo79 Well. So much for "be kind."

Wavescrashingonthebeach · 10/08/2020 21:02

Im sorry this has tickled me a little. I can actually see how that would be done, the Asda table salt has a more similar bottle shape to the shake & vac and perhaps it was low lighting.. plus wine..!

Ha you will both be fine honestly. Drink plenty of water.

My brother was using flash concentrated disinfectant as washing up liquid for about 3 weeks until i pointed it out to him. Some people just dont read the packaging at all 😂

toomanyplants · 10/08/2020 21:04

Wow. Talk about an epic mix up!
Surely it couldn't have been that much?
Take some milk of magnesia and get him booked in at the opticians.

rach2713 · 10/08/2020 21:04

I'm not the best cook but even I know the difference between shake and vac and salt but firstly I would never keep the next to each other...

Isinknot · 10/08/2020 21:06

Honestly, I was genuinely worried! What would I gain from making up rubbish?

We have given up on the wine and drunk a load of water.

OP posts:
Nicknacky · 10/08/2020 21:07

Do you normally keep cleaning items near food stuffs?

Nonotthisagain · 10/08/2020 21:07

Are you sure it was accidental? Watch out for bleach in your coffee next maybe?

Allywill · 10/08/2020 21:08

My dad once mistook lime cordial for oil and filled the chip pan. We had lime juice boiled chips. Not nice 😟
