What do you think would happen if something wiped out most men

Theres a lot of films and stuff that have thought about women being wiped out or becoming infertile. But what about Men. Do you think we'd start war, or would we find peace?

I think we'd enslave what men were left tbh, farm them for their sperm, breed with the higher quality males. Probably keep some as purchased sex slaves.

l would hate this my son could be one of these wiped out men.

JesusInTheCabbageVan · 09/08/2020 14:50

We wouldn't have to make toilets with liftable seats any more. Just a single unit (with a lid).

How many posts will we get to before someone thinks of a downside to this scenario?

Yes or the 'purchased sex slaves'

Just the thought is beyond grim.

Weird thread.

Laserbird16 · 09/08/2020 14:51

Could we start a collection and purchase Idris Elba?

HesterShaw1 · 09/08/2020 14:53

Women would dust themselves down and get on with looking after the world and those left in it. They would probably turn to one another for romantic love and sex.

SerenDippitty · 09/08/2020 14:54

I recommend the short story Consider Her Ways by John Wyndham which is about what happens when men die out.

lyralalala · 09/08/2020 14:54

The men that were left behind would be even more valuable, therefore their opinions would count for even more. Baby boys would be much higher prized than baby girls. The world would become even more patriarchal than it already is with fewer men with much more power.

mummaries · 09/08/2020 14:59

I would absolutely hate a world without men. I've had far more bitchiness and bullying from women in my life than from males and the thought of being surrounded only by females is horrible.

bogoblin · 09/08/2020 15:04

I'd have to start emptying the bins and cleaning the dishwasher filter

This. My ds's and dgs would be wiped out. The thought is heartbreaking. I also agree that ime, women as a group can be spiteful and mean to other women for the most ridiculous reasons, all whilst spouting the 'be kind' mantra.
nitgel · 09/08/2020 15:06

It would be like my girl guide group. Ran by bossy head girls GrinWink

DontGoIntoTheLongGrass · 09/08/2020 15:08

My house would be still tidy an hour after cleaning up Grin

On the other hand who would get rid of spiders in my house? I can do everything but that.

ChubbyPigeon · 09/08/2020 15:09

I mean its a hypothetical scenario, obviously no one is really going to eradicate all men.

Personally I think the world would be a much better place, after dealing with relentless fights in a&e after the pubs opened the other week and women beaten by their husbands throughout lockdown I was pretty much ready to wipe out all men anyway.

YetAnotherSpartacus · 09/08/2020 15:10

Party!

LakieLady · 09/08/2020 15:11

I'd buy shares in companies that make vibrators. Grin

AfterSchoolWorry · 09/08/2020 15:14

You could walk down the road in your nude and not be bothered by anyone.

Meruem · 09/08/2020 15:17

I’ve worked in many different depts in my organisation. I have had maybe 8 male bosses and 4 female ones. Only one of the female bosses was actually nice and just let me get on with my work. The other 3 were quite bitchy and extremely micro managing. Never had a problem with any of the male bosses. I hate feeling that way because I want women to do well in the workplace but I am very wary now of taking positions with a female manager. So no I don’t think it would be all wonderful if women were in charge.

And I'm had incompetent male bosses and incredibly awesome female ones. Anecdata is nonsense.

Until wed taught ourselves how to maintain the countries infrastructure, utilities (gas, electric, Internet, water etc) would stop working. Hopefully women would be prepared to repair roads, build houses etc.

PicsInRed · 09/08/2020 15:23

There would no longer be enough men to successfully collude in Patriarchy. As a PP said, I could walk after dusk and in less densely populated areas.

Managed just fine in the war. Turns out women weren't all delicate and thicky. Then when the men came home women were fired and told to get married, go home and have some babies.

Women are clever, it would be fine.

BertieDrapper · 09/08/2020 15:26

Just as a counter to the posts about bitchy women - maybe without men around we won't be played against each other, maybe the women who are like this will feel less need to be seen as aggressive, since they aren't having to compete against men who if they acted the same would be seen as a leader. 🙄
