Eric Joyce’s crime is despicable and his sentence in no way reflects the sheer horror of what he has done and the harm caused to the children involved.
As for India Knight and the wall of silence from the British media, that is sickening also.
India Knight writes vaguely amusing books and columns, couldn’t be smugger while also having zero self awareness.
Her topic for discussion in last week’s Sunday Times was how much she ‘despises’ fake grass.
Seriously, there isn’t an editor, friend or fellow journalist who can’t point out that the use of the word ‘despises’ would be better applied to herself and choice of partner ?
To all her cronies and journalists ( and I think we all know you are - make up and feminism, tragically) who may cast an eye over Mumsnet , you really need to take a long, hard look at yourselves.
By your silence you are complicit in an absolutely appalling crime.
At least Julie Birchill sees it for what it is.
No amount of free eyeliner or drinks with the entitled, ‘elite’ , champagne socialists would put me in a room with Joyce or Knight.
I can only hope that the children in the video watched by Joyce are safe and receiving the support and love that they deserve.
