Hi

OH and I desperately need a weekend away, we live in south London (near Wimbledon) we want to go away somewhere within a maximum of 90 mins drive, we don't want to do coastal.

We would like a nice hotel, maybe a spa hotel, a bit of a town or city.

Please recommend

Ashford ? There’s a good spa hotel there and can go to Ashford designer outlet good bargains atm. And easy drive to whitstable which is lovely fish restaurants and boutique shops and pebbley beach also near Canterbury. So a real choice of places for different interests

Grin correct, I read your thread to vicariously enjoy choosing a luxury hotel destination, as I can't as I have a hyperactive 7 yo who only likes camping/Butlin's. Enjoy yourself!!

@Phineyj ah yes, I remember the camping times. Did bloody love it though. But now able to enjoy "adult" places.

Hope you get to camp this summer.

@Lobsterquadrille2

Some strange answers to a perfectly reasonable question. I'm in TW OP, and I hope you have a lovely time here.
Maybe OP comes onto AIBU, the completely wrong forum for a question like this, then proceeds to have a number of posts deleted by Mumsnet HQ for their replies to other posters.

I don't think any of the posters who challenged them were "jealous", that's such a tired refrain on Mumsnet when someone disagrees with a person asking a consumer advice question.

This is AIBU...the title suggests the questions that should be posed on this forum. There's nothing unreasonable about asking for a holiday recommendation, apart from the fact that Mumsnet has a perfectly good holiday forum with plenty of recent replies.

@GNfan check out my other thread - were you there for the mad helicopter man?

doityourselfnow · 14/08/2020 08:18

Thank you so much for your response @JuniperFather, not needed as I've got the recommendations and booked. You'd have garnered that had you RTFT.
