That's it really! I'm not one of these people who scours the internet all day for competitions to enter, but I do enter quite a few and have only ever won a voucher for sports clothes, free tickets to a local attraction and a Legally Blonde wig!! Is it all just a big con/data harvesting exercise or do people really win amazing prizes?

I've won a Christmas tree, a year's supply of sausages, £100 Boots voucher, a year's supply of shampoo, wine hamper, football match tickets, Chinese meal out, flight to Amsterdam, Minicruise to Hamburg, cinema tickets...

Crankley · 05/08/2020 19:34

A 5* holiday to Mauritius which was amazing.

Lucyccfc68 · 05/08/2020 19:37

Coming from a family of huge football fans, our winds were pretty good.

I won the opportunity to meet the whole England football team, including David Beckham and Michael Owen, who both gave me a kiss. I was in my early 20’s and was very star struck.

My DS won a mascot competition at the premiership club he supports and walked out with his favourite player. He also won another competition to walkout with an England player at a game in the USA.

I usually win something in the Christmas raffle at work like chocolates an M and S voucher.

wobblywinelover · 05/08/2020 19:48

I won a meal for two at a local posh cafe from a school raffle
A free meal for winning a juggling competition..

but to top everyone's wins off, there's nothing more exciting than this...

A free MOT!! How thrilling :-) haha

ImNotWhoYouThinkIam · 05/08/2020 19:51

I won about £500 on a phone in TV show. Category was 'boys names beginning with D' and I phoned in planning to use DS1s name. Changed my mind at the last minute and won. Spent it all on a new tent.

I won 2nd prize in a charity raffle a few years ago which was a £100 voucher for our local 2nd hand furniture store. I got loads of nice quality stuff that I couldn't have afforded otherwise Grin

Picklypickles · 05/08/2020 19:59

I won £250 worth of Fisher Price toys which arrived a couple of months before my sons first Christmas and 1st birthday, didn't have to spend a penny on him that year!

I also won £100 high street vouchers last year from the slimming world big clothes throw - one of my bags was golden and had a slip to send off to enter the proze draw.

HPandTheNeverEndingBedtime · 05/08/2020 20:15

I won 4 tickets to Channel 4s T4 Pop Beach included Blue, Girls Aloud, Daniel Bedingfield, Jamelia, Mis-Teeq, Big Brovaz, Lisa Maffia and Melanie Blatt. Apart from Blue and Girls Aloud I wouldn't be able to pick the others out of a line up but I was the bees knees at school at the time, it was the first live music event I'd been to.

ChristmasFluff · 05/08/2020 20:17

I won £50 in 1978 for compiling my best world cup team from Panini stickers

I have never been so excited since over winning something (I was 13)

The3rdWatermelon · 05/08/2020 20:21

DH won free return flights for two to any destination in Europe at a local charity raffle. It meant we could actually afford a honeymoon abroad when we got married later that year.

Tunnocks34 · 05/08/2020 20:21

I have literally never won anything in terms of luck although I did win a really prestigious internship with A massive accountancy firm at university

Stannisbaratheonsboxofmatches · 05/08/2020 20:26

£100 amazon voucher (well DS won that)
£150 pub voucher
Some Harry Potter audio CDs

I think that’s it!

BrogerMaylor · 05/08/2020 20:37

TwoZeroTwoZero · 05/08/2020 20:40

I won a £300 Tesco voucher on here once. We used it for our Xmas food shop when we were really skint.

UsuallyJustLurk · 05/08/2020 20:44

I won £3k of Debenhams vouchers on a Loose Women phone in competition about 15 years ago. It was amazing and I can still remember swanning around the shop buying everything I wanted! I was very lucky and grateful for that windfall Smile

Elsiebear90 · 05/08/2020 20:46

An IPad

hellolittlebaby · 05/08/2020 20:47

In the past 8 or 9 years I've won:

A glamping holiday for 2 nights in wales

A pedigree dog hamper with treats

A £250 Bluetooth speaker

A candle

A dress, a handbag and a picnic basket

A faux plant

A scrapbooking kit

.... I think that's it? I used to enter the odd few competitions on social media. Not so much these days. I was always very lucky.

namechangenumber204 · 05/08/2020 20:50

I used to win loads - don't enter any more - the one thing I never won was a car - but I've won holidays to Oz, China, Milan, Paris (on Concorde) and thousands of pounds worth of other stuff, white goods etc.

myotherusernameisonholiday · 05/08/2020 20:52

I've won a few decent tickets to things, sports finals and family days out which have been great but my most favourite 'win' ever was at the school fete when I was 7ish. There was a teddy bear raffle with loads of beautiful teddy bear prizes and I kept buying tickets, and losing. I spent all my pocket money on this stand. It was the end of the day, nearly everyone had gone, and they were clearing up. There was about 20 tickets still left and one solitary left over bear that clearly no one wanted. I was so upset (still no teddy) so my lovely dad bought all the rest of the tickets for me. I opened up the tickets and 'won' that last bear. Still have him 30+ years later! Not valuable except in feelings Grin

Millie2013 · 05/08/2020 20:53

A jar of Flumps at the school disco, aged 7. I peaked too soon
By way of comparison, DD won a kindle last year at her school fete

Coffeecak3 · 05/08/2020 20:59

A magnum of champagne on a raffle at a dinner dance.
A unicycle from the school fair.

RunningNinja79 · 05/08/2020 21:04

I went through a stage of entering competitions a few years ago and have won quite a few things.

The biggest being an ipad, nintendo 3DS, £400 LK Bennet voucher (it got me a bag and a top).

I also found the years supply of hair dye and the years supply of toilet roll useful.

Won £100 boots vouchers once, these came in November so little extras for christmas was sorted. Also as this one was through colgate they also sent loads of products (mouthwashes, toothpastes, tooth brushes etc)

I've also product tested the odd thing and got to keep the product. Got a TomTom Sat nav through a product test on here once. That was great.

I've not entered anything for a long time now, just can't be bothered, but back then I entered lots of competitions everyday.

thegreenlight · 05/08/2020 21:06

I won a bike in a drawing competition on Blue Peter and an all expenses paid holiday to EuroDisney (as it was called then!) in a lightbulb that my parents nearly sent back to the shop (it blew as soon as they put it in but I noticed a smudge that turned out to be a magic lamp inside!) that is where my luck with competitions ran out though! Nothing as an adult!

jellybeanpopper · 07/08/2020 18:18

Won an all inclusive holiday to the Canary Islands... on Mumsnet Smile
