Would your Mum do the tiktok challenge of lying on the floor injured?

If you watch tiktok, I'm sure you've seen loads of this, where the son/daughter/grandson rings up their Mum/Grandma and says the police are following them home as they were caught speeding and that they've give the excuse that Ma etc is injured and that's why they're speeding. Amazing the amount who would do it!

I know for a fact that my mother wouldn't do it for me, though I suspect she would do it for my brother or sister!

No, she'd give me a bollocking and tell me not to lie to police officers.

whenwewereyoung · 03/08/2020 20:26

Hmm, I think my mum would yeah. I don't think she would be sprawled out at the bottom of the stairs but I think she would sit and look disorientated and like she'd had a dizzy spell for me. I think my mum would do pretty much anything for me as she is amazing.

BananaChocolateLump · 03/08/2020 20:26

My mom would tell me to fuck off and hang up.

I would do it for mine though.

Chitlin · 03/08/2020 20:28

If I told my 80 year old mother to do something so asinine and then admitted it was so that I could put it on social media, she'd probably assume I was having a brain haemorrhage.

Serin · 03/08/2020 20:32

My Mother is 88. She wouldng lie on the floor for anyone.

Port1aCastis · 03/08/2020 20:33

My Mum would tell me not to be so bleddy stupid and she's not a performing seal, so therefore I should go and knock some sense into myself and stop being dim.
I'd get a piece of her mind and rightly so

Bunnybigears · 03/08/2020 20:34

No my Mum would tell me to tell the truth and face the consequences. That's what I would tell my kids as well.

Pizzapromotion · 03/08/2020 20:35

My mum would think I'd lost the plot.

I wouldn't do it for my DSs' either.

Lookyloo · 03/08/2020 20:39

I would do it for my dd.

The thing about it is, is that the grandma/Mum don't know that it's a windup. They all seem to do it though!

Aquamarine1029 · 03/08/2020 20:40

No, and I wouldn't do it for my children, either. If you drive over the speed limit you deal with the consequences.

Pizzapromotion · 03/08/2020 20:42

You'd be complicit in your DD lying to police OP? I don't understand that at all. If one of mine is caught speeding I'd expect them to take the consequences and learn from the mistake.

MissNotMrs · 03/08/2020 20:42

I wouldn't do it for my Ds

My mum might have done it for me. Dad def wouldnt

Lookyloo · 03/08/2020 20:43

My Dad would probably do it for me. Not my mother though.

OP posts:
Port1aCastis · 03/08/2020 20:43

Still an offence even if your granny is faking, and no I wouldn't encourage my dd to break the law she'd just have to face the consequences of her own actions

Lookyloo · 03/08/2020 20:47

I love how some of them ring their grandmothers. Seems to be the boys who they're more likely to do it for.

OP posts:
AntiAuntieAnty · 03/08/2020 20:49

Not for speeding, no. It isn't worth lying over what? 3 points on your license? A speed awareness course?

She did once tell me that if I murdered someone she'd cover for me, unless it was one of my siblings. She was...a character. I do not have and never did have any intention of murdering anyone, mum, you weirdo Confused.

Lookyloo · 03/08/2020 20:52

I think there's very little that I wouldn't cover for my dd for. I'd probably bury the body.

OP posts:
Thehogfatherstolemycurry · 03/08/2020 20:53

I wouldn't for my kids no. I'd tell them to face the consequences. I don't find it funny.

Tunnocks34 · 03/08/2020 20:57

My mum wouldn’t. My OH mum absolutely would.

Tunnocks34 · 03/08/2020 20:58

I also wouldn’t do it for my sons. I love them, adore them. But I won’t help them to break the law - actions have consequences and I do them no service by helping them avoid that.

Lookyloo · 03/08/2020 21:00

It's noticeably the boys whose Mum/Grandma do it.

Never seen one of a girl and their Mum doing it.

I'd say a father might do it, but unlikely.

Mums eh?

OP posts:
Chanjer · 03/08/2020 21:00

She'd more likely report me to the police

Lookyloo · 03/08/2020 21:02

@Chanjer Mine would too 'good - that will get you off the road'. All because I overtook her in a 60mph zone when she was doing 50.

OP posts:
GlummyMcGlummerson · 03/08/2020 21:13

No, I'd get a bollocking for trying it on.
She'd expect anyone else to cover for her many fuck ups though

Thefaceofboe · 03/08/2020 21:16

My mum would! I find that tiktok hilarious
