To think that it's really hard for someone over 35 to bake?

I just can't seem to cover my eye bags? See pic.

I've tried putting foundation on but not by my eyes, then using concealer around the dark bits but it always goes crepey and then adding loose powder on top of that basically equals crusty eye area. I love watching MUA stuff and they seem to do it no problem but I look terrible.

@Ninkanink I think I may have some BB December 2018 if they are any use

nasiisthebest · 04/08/2020 12:54

I also thought it was a cake question.

There is no point in watching internet make up artists who show you the effect after just a minute under artificial lights. The only make up advice worth having is the one that works outside after running around for 5 hours after a kid at the zoo. Most skin make up looks terrible after that.

UK’s Robert Welsh (Pro makeup artist) on YouTube is against baking & explains well exactly why women over a certain age simply should not bake.

Robert Welsh is a godsend!

vikingwife · 04/08/2020 13:01

@nasiisthebest exactly right, but Robert Welsh’s channel is dedicated to debunking these “internet beauty practices” which simply don’t work for real life application. He does not consider himself a beauty guru.

After watching his channel my makeup technique improved dramatically & got ID’d at Aldi supermarket for the 1st time in yanks!

@gobananasgo

Biscuit
No that I know what the biscuit means your comment is a bit rude. If you are inferring to what others have about there being no bags (thanks to all those who were kind), there are - maybe the pic wasn't great quality but I wasn't finishing for comments I asked a genuine question. I've also watched a few of the Robert Welsh videos as suggested so I'm not arsing about.

(Ive seen the (can't remember his name) Goss a lot but I find him a bit annoying.

I’d eat them... Grin Grin

Hope all is well with you. Flowers

Wayne goss annoys me... Y SO SERIOUS WAYNE?

Robert Welsh is just adorable & his channel is all about teaching traditional makeup theory + debunking silly instamakeup

Also another excellent pro makeup artist (ie a real PRO not a “guru” is John Maclean... He is simply amazing

FizzyGreenWater · 04/08/2020 14:22

‘Ceaseless eyes’? I’m not sure I’d want that anyway, your eyes have to stop somewhere or there’s going to be no room for other things such as your nose, mouth etc.

But other than that, I can see the problems with the photo you posted- it’s not a great result no. Maybe less yellow surround to your eyes and use real lashes not a big scribble?

FizzyGreenWater · 04/08/2020 14:23

Also by not drawing circles around the under eye area you don’t draw so much attention to the problem region.

ChardonnaysPetDragon · 04/08/2020 15:13

Grin at whoever said a Biscuit means sympathy.

To be fair Biscuit is pretty appropriate on a thread about baking.

HeronLanyon · 04/08/2020 19:29

Not if it’s a flower ! (Not flour). It’s way too yellow ! I spent a good year thinking it was a flower.

user8558 · 04/08/2020 19:33

I thought this was about cake or drugs.

Can't it be both?
QuestionableMouse · 05/08/2020 00:14

I use an ice roller and it's fabulous for reducing any puffiness under my eyes.

Also the hydro gel eye patches are amazing.

Don't cake stuff on, it'll only highlight any texture that's there.

MiniMum97 · 05/08/2020 00:30

@HaggisTheGreat

Try using flour and butter instead of concealer and foundation?
😂😂😂
Sorka · 05/08/2020 00:49

I’m another one who came here for cake.

cosmicpassages · 05/08/2020 01:27

@SomewhereInbetween1

Apparently salicylic acid on the under eye area before you apply any products is the key!
Isn't that what they use to remove warts ? I wouldn't put that anywhere near my eyes Hmm
ThumbWitchesAbroad · 05/08/2020 03:28

@pussycatinboots

Also - hint on using Preparation-H on eye bags - they go saggy again once you stop, and possibly even worse than before (friend tried it)

Why would you smear pile cream on your face? Shock

Stage make up hint given in the 90s - might even have been a drag queen hint - Prep H causes shrinkage of the blood vessels, which helps with piles and also reduces under-eye puffiness.
